thanks for playing! : D happy you liked the art and addition of a count down.

extremely precise precision platformer hahaha, that was so hard! > x < But since the levels are only small and the check points are each level I think that makes difficulty okay and it feel less punishing. I like the theme has been used in a very unique way of the puzzle solving costing inputs, haven't seen anything like that here yet!

Glimpo is a cute lil guy and the art style is quite nice in general! Music and sound is very good too! The game has a very polished feel to it, I like the detail of the effect on the narration text at times, that's very nice.

The puzzles are generally well thought out and I like that being able to set your own inputs to give you a little bit more freedom in how to solve the puzzle, However I would've liked if the you could press the keys in any order if you have multiple on an action, since it made the game feel a bit unresponsive at first before I figured out it had to be in order.

Very high quality stuff, Well Done! : )

thanks for giving it a go! Happy you liked the art!

thanks!!! Happy you liked her and the audio :)

I really like this as an unique twist on a typing game by making you type with your non dominant hand! although i think to even out the challenge, maybe you could include an option to flip the game for left handed people haha.

I like that the little gnomes want to help me and the sprite work of them and the keyboard is very nice. especially like the way the words fall into a pile and that letters you type effect all words in the pile that's a nice touch  I haven't seen before in a typing game! The upgrades are decent and seem to fit into the theme in a clear straight forward way.

I like that you have included a sound effect for the gnomes jumping on the keyboard that's cute idea however it starts to feel a little bit annoying after a while so I would suggest having more of mix of sounds it makes and to turn the volume down a little bit. would also be nice to have some music too.

Good Job! : )

Short but sweet mini puzzle game, reminds me of an escape room mobile game I used to play haha! I like how the theme is used as the framing of the puzzle to unlock the key, the art work is kinda cute as well. I like that the door has a sound effect, but would've liked if there was some music to it as well.

You have a pretty good set up for a potential game play loop of solving puzzles to unlock doors, which could be interesting to explore.

Good effort!  : )

Oh don't feel bad, this is still great given the time limit : )

I really like fishing games, so it's nice to see one here! I really love the art style, it's the stand out feature here and is very cute! I like that the theme as been implemented as buying upgrades for the fishing rod, although after a certain point it makes the controls feel quite slippery. I like that you have included multiple endings too, to further add to the theme with how the endings cost you based on your actions through the game.

although there appears to be some scaling issues with the text getting cut off on the title screen.

I would've liked if there was a little more too it with the fishing and upgrades like maybe there could also be a shop on the map where you can buy bait to catch specific fish or obstacles in the water to avoid? I also think some music and sound would add to the experience.

Pretty good effort overall though! :)

hahaha very funny take on the theme I love it!! it's a clever meta joke! the dialogue is quite funny and charming and i'm very surprised and impressed with how detailed the character creator is! I really adore the art style this has too adds to the minimal vibe you seem to be going for!  I also like the animation when you finished making the character that's quite cute and good polish

just would like if there was some music and sound effects, like little noises when the character speak.

Really excellent work, Well Done! : D

I like the idea of buying and managing planets, that's quite a unique take on the theme! I like that there is a variety of different planets, each with different sizes and different structures on them to sell and I appreciate that you have put an indicator on the bottom of the screen to show which tile of the map you are dealing with for placing  or selling.

while I do think its a pretty decent loop concept of selling structures on the small planets and then selling those for even bigger planets, it's a little hard to tell what I can and can't buy, as it seemed like i had enough money to buy a building but sometimes I couldn't buy it then other times I could, so I'd suggest just further explaining the rules of that.

also I'm unsure if I purchased a planet or not, I think it would be helpful if you could have a little message pop up just confirming if the payment went through or not, Some sound effects could also help with this.

I like the art style as well it's quite cute and has like an old flash game feel to it haha.

I think some music could really aid the game too, for example having different tracks for each planet to make them feel more distinct.

Good effort! : )

I think it's a good choice to create a stat management sim in relation to theme and i think it's quite helpful that you have shown how each choice will effect certain stats before you choose them! I like that the choices add some personality and character to the game, and I thought some of the events were quite funny, although I would've liked if the choices had effects on the other character's around like for example if one character got punched by another guy, then the next choice would be about that guy getting injured, to make your choices feel more impactful.

I also think that game could have been made more difficult each day with more choices, and maybe like a timer on the choices to give it more tension.

I like the presentation though, has a decent level of polish! I quite like the detail of the current day number getting bigger.

Good Effort! : )

Thanks for playing! Thanks for letting me know that that's a bit confusing to figure out, I can update it to explain that better

Ahh good to know! : ) really sorry I thought i had reached the end of the game when i encountered that bug at the goal

Pretty short and sweet start to a unique idea of a precision platformer and fit's the theme very well! I like that coins give you more jumps to use! Could have a banger idea on your hands if you choose to build on it with more levels and puzzles!

Good effort!! : D

Could smell the iron lung inspiration from a mile away haha! I like the game play it's a very creative take on the theme, with taking too long costing the loss of oxygen and water leaking in, I think it's a clever idea to unlock new minigames are the game progress to keep it fresh and create more tension as the difficulty of them increases.

However I didn't know when I unlocked a new one or when the previous one became blocked, so it made the game feel unresponsive when i was clicking the previous minigame and nothing happened so i think would be useful to have some indications of what you can't and can access on the computer any given time.

speaking of the computer, I really like the diegetic ui of the read me file as well as the guy on the walkie-talkie acting as a kind of introduction, it reminds me of the iron lung movie and his tone feels similar to 5NAF phone guy lol.

Although since the game has a lot of diegetic ui elements, I think it would be neat if the timer and credits value had a similar going for them to make the ui feel more cohesive, but understandable given the time limit there's still an impressive amount of work put into this!

Great Work! : )

I'm quite impressed with the amount of content to be found here! with the battles, elite and final act boss fights as well as rest spots, shops and events!! : D I really like the use of the theme with use of debt card moves and i think it's a really clever detail for the enemies to be named in theme of taking money!

The game play seems to be well balanced with the card variety, enemy move sets and the way the difficulty increases well, I also like the branching paths, and seemly random placement of zones to keep the game fresh each time.

I'd just say I'd like if there were some backgrounds added, especially on the path and fight scenes so it looks a bit less plain.

Good Job! : )

I really like the inclusion of the story adds a lot of personality to the game, I also like that the book act's a tutorial while also introducing his character at the same time. I like how the theme was used with the actions of the player character, having been turned into a ghost that's quite fun and having the draining resource of the ectoplasm.

While I like that you have included a couple of different enemies and an increasing difficulty, I wish that the quota increased every round instead and for the enemies to have more attacks like they could also shoot things at you maybe?

The controls are decent but imo i think it would be nice to have the shooting based on the direction of the character and just mapped to one button for easier use and also because sometimes I pressed the wrong button haha. Another way could be based on mouse rotation for more freedom in the direction of fire.

the sprite work is pretty nice and that's there's different ones per enemy type.

However there seems to be an issue where even though I got to the goal in the time limit, it still counted it as a game over, and didn't record my stats at the end and it was all set to 0.

Nice Job overall though! : )

Congrats on your first jam! I really like the way the theme has been used as carnival game with the cost of tickets to unlock more buttons and items as well as the challenge of trying not to waste balls. I really like the edition of the collectables! really adds to the feel of it being a carnival game as well as the ticket multipliers they gave you, that's a nice touch!

the cross hair confused me a little a first though, but I understood it as I played through and think it was quite a good idea for judging the height of my throw!

would've been nice to have some music and sound to add to the experience though.

Overall Good effort, Well Done! : )

Thanks so much for playing! Glad you like the artwork and animations : D

Thank you!! happy you like the art style! sorry the theme isn't very clear to see, I was aiming to make something very small scale since I haven't done such a short jam before, which is why theme isn't explored in a lot of depth haha

Cute little game! I like how it's simple to pick up and understand, but the obstacles give it more challenge! I think the upgrades are decent, the shake one is especially useful to make use of the balls that got stuck to make the game less punishing. I like theme is used as not only buying the upgrades but also at the cost of loosing the balls, it's cute like an arcade game.

The sprite work is pretty nice, and I really like you have included the day and night cycle to make the environment feel less samey, though I would've liked if the obstacles changed over time to switch things up!

The music is stellar! I appreciate the length of the loop given the play time advised, and the way it progresses as time goes on.

Good Job : )

I really like the sprite work it's very cute and cohesive. the music is quite fitting as well. the rooms have decent challenge and thought put into them. I like that the shooting is tied to the health to encourage strategizing, I liked gathering up the skeletons so that I could jump over them all to avoid shooting them haha!

The lighting effect is very nice and I like how the magic bullets have lighting on them to act as an additional light source, that's a neat idea and could be helpful, however I was trying to avoid using it as a light to preserve health so it went largely unused as a feature of me, but I appreciate you have placed some light sources  in the environment as well as the souls also having lighting to them to for better navigation.

While I do like how clear the theming is with everything, from unlocking doors, shooting enemies, shooting as a light source,  all tied to costing your health, it makes the game feel like it requires absolute perfection with no room for mistakes. if this is intended as a rage platformer, then that's quite a unique way to provide that kind of challenge, if it's not though I'd tone it down a bit, like maybe having different costs to the health from different uses like for example, it costs less to just fire as a light source, more when you hit an enemy etc.

I do also like the detail of the area of vision reducing based on your health, that's a good diegetic indicator of your health! however I think it gets reduced so much to a point that I can't see anything and it's not wise to shoot as a light source because then I would die I felt, so it made the game much more challenging than it should have imo.

With this difficulty it felt quite punishing to have to restart the whole game over each time you die, I would suggest having save points per room.

Overall pretty good game through, Great Work!

survival/ stat management is a really good genre to pick in relation to the theme! I adore the art style and animations, it fits the comedic tone of the game, especially the pigeon "delivering" the newspaper hahaha! I think it's quite clever to have the newspaper act as a diegetic UI menu and tutorial and I appreciate that the  consumable items are more than a one time use! The detail of the exit game button changing text was also very cute and funny!

I also really like the inclusion of having to swat / shoo away the files. that can eat your food to give the game more spice and challenge.

I also like the sound effects included as they add to the comedic tone very well! Just would like if there was some music included, that would be triggered on the balance of stats you have.

However I did get a little confused when I threw the news paper away the game just kinda seemed to stop, I was hoping the pigeon would come back but they didn't, not sure if they were supposed to?

also sometimes I grabbed an item I didn't want by accident because arrive close together, I'd suggest having the item outlined in a stand out colour so it's easier to know which item you're going to pick up.

Great Job, Well Done! : )

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you like the animations and it's quick to understand.

With the theming I was struggling to come up with something which why it might be a bit unclear sorry about that, but my idea was basically Alma's wants (drinking red apples' colour) at the cost of her needs as a vampire ( drinking human blood ), so the more she's drinking the apple colour's, she's starting the crave human blood at the same time, which is why the challenge get's harder over time to represent it getting harder for her to fight off the craving for human blood.

Thanks so much for playing I'm happy you like the art and sound! I should probably change the success sound to make it more clear lol, thanks for bringing that up!

Thanks so much for playing! : )

Thanks! I'm glad you like her!

Thank you! I'm happy you liked the animation! : )

TWIN !!! Another vampire entry! : D

I like the concept of being a vampire, having the blood act as draining resource that's clever! I also really like the artwork it's cute and the variety in enemy designs, but at the same time having similar armour. I also like the effect of the screen getting darker when you are low on blood.

I appreciate you having an icon showing the aim direction, however I ended up spamming the bite most of the time, I would suggest having the bite just as a healing move and not damage so there's a balance of using both actions in the move set.

The gameplay loop is pretty solid, although I would suggest increasing the difficulty more per rounds, and giving the enemy types more attacks, as well as attack animations but understandable given the time limit this was made in.

Good effort all round though! Well Done! : )

Pretty funny concept! I liked the idea of the mouse reducing the earnings when not clicking on the money that's quite clever and funny. I liked the effect of the coins falling too, I like that you made the tutorial guy a returning character to give him more personality as well the explanations of what's going on and I was surprised by the twist of him killing me hahaha! Also the game has decent polish to it as well.

Would've liked if there was some music to go along with it, but I appreciate the pitch shifting on the sound effects to make it feel less repetitive.

Good Job!

Congrats on your first game! I really like the variety in character designs here and the art style is very cute and cohesive. I admire you tackling sensitive topics in relation to theme, it's handled with care and written well, and sends out a good message about how you should have people you can confide in rather then trying to take the burden of everyone else's problems at the cost of your own mental health.

I like the ui of the heart breaking, and the screen getting darker to represent the main character's mental health getting effected, although there appears to be some scaling issues with it, I'd suggest changing the stretch mode to canvas items in the project settings to hopefully sort that out.

some music, and sound could elevate the experience and i also think it would be impactful to have some screen shake when you loose a piece of the heart.

Well done, good effort! : )

Thanks for explaining! : ) although, I didn't seem to be getting a park each around? I'm not sure if that's a bug, I ended up trying to place as many parks as I could to make up for rounds where there wasn't any to place

(1 edit)

Pretty decent stat management sim, good genre to pick in relation to the theme! It's quite impressive you able to make so many building types and the detail in how effect they grid! it's a pretty decent loop of filling out a square and buying upgrades!

although there seems to be some scaling issues with the game, it was quite hard for me to make out the text and the art work of the icons, but i like the title screen art, I assume those are the workers? or representing the jobs of the different building types?

I would've liked if it was a little less rng, unless I'm misunderstanding that but i kept running out of foliage very quickly because i kept getting rounds with no parks to place. I also think it would be a fun idea for the goal to change square to square instead of just 30 workers each time.

I think the upgrades in the shop are good from what I saw, but I accidentally purchased one i didn't want when i was just trying to read what it does, so I would suggest changing how to see what things do to mouse hover, rather than clicking on it imo.

I also think having some music could add a lot to the game, like changing track based on the current balance of stats you have.

Overall good effort, well done! : )

The art style here is very cute and charming! I really like the detail of the player character looking angry if they take damage, the walking animation is also very cute and silly haha. The enemies remind me of puyo puyo too! The colour palette is very nice and fitting to.  very impressive you were able to fit so many levels in haha!

The levels are designed very thoughtfully and I really like how you have used the theme with buying and selling as part of the puzzle solving. While I do like the challenge in the levels, the difficulty seems to be a little unordered sometimes with a difficult level followed by an easier one, then back to more difficult for the next one. so it made some levels feel underwhelming from that order.

The game is very well polished and the music and sound effects are very good matching the fun cute vibes!

High quality stuff, Nice Work!

Cute little game! The art work and animations are quite charming and I'm quite impressed with the amount of choices you have given the time limit! I like the mini games as well, it kinda reminds me of warioware haha.

I really like how you have managed to tell a good story here and how each ending is kinda bittersweet, with no matter what ending costing you a great deal. though the saving the earth ending has more content, i prefer the staying with the daughter ending lol.

I think having some music would add to the experience! also there seems to be a bit of odd behaviour with some text scaling.

Great Job Though! : )

This is such a cool concept!! I really like that the controls are simple, but there's some unique strategy to it with not always needing to jump to collect more snow and how the jumping reduces the size.

The art style looks very chilled out and relaxing, the presentation of having the text show up when getting to a new check point is a nice little touch.

would be nice if it had some chill music to go along with it.

Great Job!

The presentation here is fantastic love it! the UI of the choosing the new spell you want is quite nice and I like the little intro at the beginning and the death screen. the art work is stellar as well! the sound design is very good as well and I like the creepy sounding voice.

I like the theme is used in a meta way as costing real life time of drawing the spells that's quite clever! I appreciate that you have given a good margin of error if you don't draw it bang on the dots, that's very helpful. The tension of trying to draw in time when each wave of enemies are closing in creates a great level of tension.

Though I find it a little tedious to go back an fourth with selecting the different spells from having to change which button i'm pressing too fast, I would've preferred if you could still press left mouse button to select the different spells, but have the spell menu outside of the drawing detection area so it doesn't over lap, and having the cancel spell mapped to something on the mouse instead of keyboard for faster reaction time pressing it from the player.

Overall very high quality stuff, Excellent work! : )

Nice little precision platformer! I like that debt adds extra depth to trying to speed run it rather just having the timer! the rooms have good thought put into them and I liked the sprite work too! the player character is quite cute!

I like that you have included a fairly in-depth move set for the character given the time limit, however there seems to be some odd behaviours where some platforms and walls make my jump go backwards. I also I would've liked if the music loop was a bit longer.

Good Job! : )

(1 edit)

I really like the aesthetic of this, really makes me feel like I'm playing inside that old screensaver haha, it resembles it quite well, the dark light makes it feel quite creepy a liminal space horror type vibe. I like the idea of draining memory as a cost, that's quite funny. the ui is very good as well and i love the way it emulates retro computers!

The controls are good, however i feel the mazes are hard to navigate with the environment being so similar to each other and also likely due to the random generation, but understandable given the time limit. maybe different areas of the maze could reference other old screen savers?

also I'm not sure if there was supposed to be audio, given the inclusion of a volume slider, but none seems to be playing for me or it's muted.

Overall Good effort! : )

I really like the idea of the demon gaining an ability at same time as you do, I think that's a pretty good use of the theme! I like that you can see what abilities the demon gained as well that's good to know and I'm quite impressed with the amount of abilities you have managed to include!  The portrait of the demon in the dialogue and the icons of the abilities look very good too! Also, I like the detail of the demon having different things to say when you die.

I'd just say I find the movement very slow, it makes the game feel more difficult than it should be, the controls take a lot of getting used to, but it's okay I take that as part of the challenge lmao
