This game is supercharged with Retro 90s appeal. The music, UI, Clippy, everything you need. Thanks for the nostalgia. I could not wrap my head around using the controls effectively though. I'm often too quick to give up on platformers xD

Yeah perpetually reverse with a limited view on the mirror trying to run away is pretty on point for a nightmare scenario. Add to that I'm running over poor dogs because I'm a terrible driver. Great submission!

Fun sound effects and cool dithering art in the background!

Fun game loop and lots of features in here, great job.

Great job with the atmosphere and music. I was lost on the gameplay though. I tried pressing one of the keybinds to open the terminal but nothing happened. Is the terminal a location on the map? The monster would often trigger just about as I was about to exit the room not giving me time to run.

Pac-man + nightmare. The controls are so odd and unique, it was difficult to get the hang of at first. Great submission!

Nice pixel art and love the theme

Well done! The art and sound design make for a great experience.

Unique idea and the design of playing on the arcade machine was well done with the control animations and the shaders applied for each of the screens.

Hey one of the devs here! I updated the browser version so the particle effect will only stutter on the first asteroid.

Awesome concept and it was executed really well. Lots of polish for a game jam. Great job!

Phenomenal job! So impressive for a 9 day jam. Fits the theme well and the implementation of the movement is top tier. Pretty clear there are some experienced game devs as part of the crew! I'm really glad I waited out the initial freeze of the browser so the shaders could be cached. I know jam success heavily depends on browser play, but I would almost recommend having the downloads only.

Combat feels good, I just didn't get to experience it without dying within 10 seconds xD

Echoing some other comments on modifying some values or having a difficulty slider. Cool entry though!

Love the style with the models/textures. Similar vibe to Buckshot Roulette with a great twist on pool. Could see this be expanded pretty easily with many unique modifiers as part of the progression. Great job!

Glad you found that out! We wanted to put this along with other hints but didn't get to it with the time-crunch.

Similar idea to our game! Silly fun theme, the annoying hamsters squeaks cracked me up.

Great job on your first jam!

Great concept but when trying to build the car the item would not place at the point in the grid I have my mouse. I tried both windowed and fullscreen in the browser.

Fantastic style and the gameplay is top tier. Good play on the theme too. My favorite submission so far! Great job

Great job! Fun fighting game with the finisher mechanic. I tried jump slamming the bat(?) a couple times but it wasn't registering damage.

Creative idea! I think I just launched the character off the map with the web surf lol

Well done, the game is polished and has some great mechanics. The controls would work really well on an old arcadey game pad or controller but feels a little awkward on keyboard. Would be nice to be able to use the mouse to aim but that breaks the four directional aiming.

Lots of bullet hell games in this jam but this one tops them all! Art style is fantastic and mechanics are polished. Well done

Point to click with the ability combos reminds me of LoL. Fun game but just needs some tweaking with boss mechanics or player health. Anytime the boss goes anywhere near me he blew me up!

Awesome grappling mechanic. Flipping between the two abilities works really well. I can easily imagine expanding on it with more weapons and different types of grapples. Might need an indicator or zoom out further as it's easy to get lost directionally with Boss. Great job!

Clean pixel art! I didn't play the finished version but the submitted game has some great features including the slo-mo dodge. I would do away with the machine gun sound the attack makes though, feel out of place.

Great visuals and consistent style/theme! Lots of content for a game jam, great job

Effective way of using the theme and impressive job completing what feels like a very polished game with days to spare before the jam ended.

Props for doing an RTS for a game jam! Great art style. I think I ran into a bug where I can't assign a soldier. Wasn't sure how to highlight units either so didn't get passed the initial tutorial of setting down buildings.

Honestly was sad when the game ended. I wanted to keep playing. Simple but perfectly executed game. Well done!

I like the art style/theme and the camera angle + controls feel natural. The attacks aren't clear for their hitbox path & responsiveness so it's hard to tell when anything takes damage though. Great job!

Love the style and animations! What was the technique used? Looks almost like rotoscoping. The fighter genre not usually my jam but loved button mashing in this one.

Great job with the sprite sheets. Can always appreciate a good Godot icon prototype environment :D

I love the design of the statue health bar and the exchange screen. Great job!

Awesome concept! Excellent soundtrack. Needs improvements with controls and mechanics but all of the makings are there for a great game.

Yes, the restart level after death was something I wish we tackled before the deadline. Once we can update the game it will be included! Thanks for playing

I haven't played many card battlers but this has some great mechanics and introduces the theme in a simple but effective way.

my submission: https://itch.io/jam/boss-rush-jam-2024/rate/2513322

Love the art style and effects in combat. Some of the hitboxes make dodging some of the boss abilities pretty difficult though. Great job!
