I've got a loop when talking to Petra after growing on .1.1. I used BustBloom Lv 1 and Lv 2 since previously talking to her.

How does the game account for characters gaining at significantly different rates? For example I tend to rush Mia and Lucy but largely ignore Sherry and Reb. I know there's multi-character events, so how would that work? And if I miss out, what way would the content be available in that playthrough, if at all?
Couple things, can't comment deeply about the contents of the update yet as I've yet to truly play it.
I found a bug. When editing a custom girl in the extras menu, the skin tone selection returns to the default Dark Brown. It does save correctly, so this is strictly in the editor.
Also, would it be possible to add another extreme proportion gain pattern? I'm really a fan of what I've seen been called "inverse hourglass", which is the extreme belly shape. It'd be analogous to Macromastia and Lipedema but for belly. Probably my favorite shape. Understandable if no, you've probably got bigger fish to fry.
I posted this on the 0.6 devlog, but since it's been about a week, I'm going to mirror it here so that I can be sure you get notified:
Will the new Invite system include hangouts at each location for the girls? Because currently there's several holes and it can really make "training" certain stats difficult. Especially since even more characters are being added, which'd bump up the required scenes even further.
Mental block and stress are not stupid reasons. Your mental state is critical to game dev, so it not working is not a bad reason. Whatever the reasons for delay, your mental health is worth more. If you focus too much on pushing in spite of issues, you might burn out entirely and that'd be MUCH worse. Do what you need to do!
I'll also post my high scores on the two main modes rq because why not. I don't really play Sally so I won't include her. I have tried to make Phoebe work more times than I've played Bella, fwiw
Because Itch apparently hates me, I'll have to type the scores out instead of providing screenshots
Full Course:
Phoebe: 357990
Martha: 840390
Bella: 522980
Mixed:
Phoebe: 689140
Martha: 862140
Bella: 798790
I just had a run in Mixed prior to posting this where I tried a lot harder to get value from her powerup to understand what I might be missing- but it still felt like 80% of the time I was fighting against the character.
Overall a pretty good game, but I want to talk about Phoebe's gameplay design for a moment.
Phoebe is a high damage character. Good, cool. The shot type is great at accomplishing that. She has a bigger hitbox. Given her powerful attack that's a fair enough tradeoff, though given the game's design it forces her to spam gas a lot more than other characters just to not automatically die at high sizes. That'd be fine if she had easy access to a lot of it, or some other method of crowd control that can actually protect her somewhat- but you just have to hope your blasting forward is enough to supply you on both fronts. Which- fair, Martha has a similar situation. But Martha's power up gives her a free full screen wipe/freeze whenever she finds it, with or without a full gas gauge.
Which gets me to my actual big problem- Phoebe's unique lactation powerup. I think the design is interesting, and the calorie-boosting and passive size gain are really fun... or they could be if they were on a different character. Phoebe does not like being very big for very long. She really gets shot really badly. The lactation powerup in theory can do this- but it also eats your entire weight gauge if it successfully resolves. Your prize? Near zero damage and calorie boosts. Calories you just spent getting the calorie boost instead of actually accomplishing anything. No floats for better DPS deeper in the run, no burst for an emergency screen clear, just some calorie boosters. All this tends to do is rush Phoebe past the low/low-middle weights where her strengths are strongest and propels her into the middle-high regime. This is neither a weight range where she's comfortable to play nor is it especially close to cashing in.
Plus due to how it works, her special finisher is
extremely hard to execute. The droplets don't deal a ton of damage to bosses
and it's not hard for the floaters to steal the
finishing hit from the basic lactation droplets.
The only significant way is to have a wall of
droplets on screen already from a prior cap-out. Oh, and using the regular lactation mode in a boss fight is practically
an instant loss vs Vanilla because there's no way
Phoebe is going to be able to fit through the gaps.
IMO she desperately needs some form of rework- I've had a lot of success with the other characters
in the game, and it's very fun
But as a BE and Lactation lover,
it's disappointing that there's been such an
oversight in "my character"'s gameplay design.
All the same, good game. Hope that this little rant isn't too much of an annoyance.
Also it looks like my formatting started to bug out, sorry, Itch did it.
Neat game. I think the beta is a good proof of concept to expand upon. The guard AI is a bit goofy, though. They seem to either spot you for no reason or be completely oblivious to your existence.
Also I figured out I can do this:
I like the concept of the game, and the art assets are great, but it has a few issues right now.
- The game sometimes has lag spikes, and I have a fairly high end PC.
- Sometimes, presumably due to lag or an interaction with the rapid fire powerup, the gun enters a "burst fire" mode where chunks of its firing pattern are missing. This is a massive DPS drop that can doom an attempt as early as a few seconds in.
- Tohru lasts FOREVER after her lifebar is depleted. She was being fed for a solid 45s while her healthbar was empty and she still gameovered me by reaching the village.
- The second gun feels very underwhelming. It doesn't have anything near the damage per shot to be worth the downside of the lower RoF.
- Some of Tohru's attacks are entirely undodgable. Her bodyslam at her biggest legitimately covered my entire screen and forced me to take half my health in damage. That and the white aura chip damage being completely unavoidable really doesn't feel like great shmup design.
- The infinite dragon summons at last stage are very annoying. It's not very feasible to keep one alive to prevent the next wave because they heal Tohru a lot. And while the rapidfire powerups they can drop are great for actually finishing the phase, they don't necessarily drop those consistently, and with bad RNG she can heal a significant amount between the summons and the basically undodgable slowing web?/milk?/icing?/cloth? spam.
