Hehe thanks for the feedback. I was curious if the simple “dodge 2x” on the wall was enough to explain that, or how many would discover it by accident.
The gun switch is a legit concern, perhaps would have been better to have explicit pickup with E or Q though that may have complicated the game more adding an extra control.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I can appreciate the game being hard to climb on purpose, though for me whose aim sucks I found the timing required to grab onto the letters a little too critical. Specifically that the hands only fly out when the dot is white not gray, makes it very hard to save yourself when falling when the dot only flashes white for a very small moment. I managed to climb 4 letters though, and the most satisfying part was when I climbed 4 in 1 go, but then I fell haha.
Thank you for the feedback! To address some things:
- My engine currently has no volume control or pitch control even internally, and it didn’t have audio before the jam haha. I’ll definitely work on balancing the audio.
- As for the movement, it can be slow when you walk without a high meter and even high you can get hit a lot. However dodging triggers knockback immunity so it’s a good way to pass through a storm of bullets for a moment to get in some good shots (you can shoot and roll at the same time hehe).
- I also agree that the boss HP is high and the end battle could have been more fantastical. I have lowered HP a bit since.
- Guns reloading, yea, actually there is an animation for it (the guns are supposed to flash when reloading) but I have a feeling a broke it at some point. Oops!
Thanks again for the feedback and thanks for playing!
Thanks for playing! So the way I did these was essentially a 3 step process. Step 1 I used a digital 6B pencil brush, to draw the outlines on a layer above a white background in rough. Second stage was turning the background gray, add a layer below the outline and then using a white 6B to fill them in from the layer underneath the outline. 3rd stage was touching up the black outline layer making them thicker, filling in missing gaps, adding some texture etc. End result it looks like paper cut outs!
I enjoy the stamp to execute enemies, broken biscuits lol. Though have to say the difficulty is a little on the tough side when it comes to the timing. When 2 cookies cover each other, only 1 can be stamped the other gets back up and takes you out if you’re not careful to run away. Also noticed when 2 come at you with identical position the attack cooldown doesn’t let you kill them in time. Overall nice work though I didn’t finish the game.
