Sorry for the wait. Which version of the game are you playing? PC, Mac, or Linux?

Thank you so much for playing!

What happened is actually what is supposed to happen. Once you die a certain number of times, you have to start a new life. 'Lite' permadeath, to give you the experience of a precious and fragile existence.

BUT! Do not despair. Not all is lost. First of all, you can choose where your new game begins. Skipping the intro and tutorial if you've already seen them is possible (and recommended!) so you can dive right into the fun stuff, and once you unlock new chapters, you can begin from them as well. There are currently six start points in the game to unlock, to give you freedom to choose just where you begin. You'll be able to allocate extra skills when you start at a later point.

Also, any animal masteries you have earned (mainly by observing animals while hunting) remain in your next life, as do any tarot cards you have found. Both of these confer permanent bonuses to your stats and abilities... you can even earn extra 'lives' for every playthrough through certain cards. If you begin at Chapter 2 or later, you can also choose from among artifacts which you have found in any playthrough to start with, so your efforts are not wasted.

Thanks again, and feel free to ask if you run into any more trouble.

There is indeed. Make sure you can see hidden folders, then go to Users/(yourusername)/AppData/LocalLow/Dreaming Door Studios/Golden Treasure - The Great Green and you should see Profile and Save folders. Just copy those over.

Thank you so much for playing my game! - L

Je vous en prie. Enjoy your life as a dragon!

All right... I believe we have solved the mystery.

We recently updated Unity, and Unity has apparently introduced a new feature (sic) which causes people who are not in an English-speaking country/not running an English native version of Windows to have this problem. It has to do with how it converts numbers to letters; the new version attempts to auto-recognize what language you're using and then changes the way the code works.

As we speak our senior programmer is fixing it. The next time you try it, it should work normally. If it doesn't, switch to the stable or beta branch and that should fix it too. Any progress made in any version will persist, so don't be afraid of using a different branch; you can switch over later. But it should be fixed by the time you read this (on Steam).

Thank you again for your patience, and sorry for the hold-up.

It seems that updating Unity caused a certain localization error. We should have the patch up pretty quickly.

Thank you again for letting us know about this, and for your patience!

Hello, Tao. Thanks for giving Golden Treasure a try!

Which version are you running? PC, Mac or Linux? Also, please tell us the version number shown on the escape menu.

We haven't heard of this issue before, but we'll get to the bottom of it!

Thank you! I'm not sure what you mean by "preview", but if you haven't yet, please give the actual game a try! The demo is absolutely free and covers much.

This thread is where the developers will look for any bug or error reports.

We hope that this thread shall remain a barren wasteland in perpetuity, but such is not our world.

Thank you, Christian, for your video playthrough of the tutorial.

I found your decisions in play to be quite intelligent. You would have made a fine Draak.

I do hope that you found the tutorial interesting enough that you will proceed to play the full demo.

Once again, thank you, and may you find your Treasure.
