nice to see another cute game with twitch chat integration :)

Hey there, I am looking for team members! I have some experience in making games for game jams (I'm the one doing the programming usually) - I have made 3 games so far for game jams! I haven't worked with composers so far on my previous jams, so it would be great to have you on board! If you would like to join us please help me fill in this form here: https://forms.gle/xJiqK6yKjDrgSy2aA , and I'll send you an invite on discord :)

Really cute game, I like the interpretation of the theme being sacrificing cute little oofles. The graphics are super cute and simplistic which I like! The gameplay is simple to understand yet challenging to execute and though it can feel frustrating at times overall I had a lot of fun with this game, good work!

Gameplay seems to have a lot depth to it but I didn't quite get how to properly play the game. I didn't quite like combining wasd controls with mouse in a turn-based game like this though, preferably everything is just using the mouse. For some reason the audio was only coming out from the left side, which weirded me out as well.

Overall though, it is a pretty decently executed idea I would say, even if it's nothing to write home about in terms of polish, though that's understandable for a jam game.

I like the atmospheric story telling, the low bit palette pixel-art style is really charming. I also like the fact that it's made entirely on a phone. While I don't see the theme interpretation and the story leaves a lot to be desired in terms of content and meaning, the execution of the game is pretty well done!

I think the music is pretty dissonant, doesn't fit the gritty dark story, but maybe that's what you're going for for comedic effect? In that case I don't really mind. The gameplay itself was pretty simple, reminds me of those old flash shooter games where you control a character from a top down view.

Overall, good effort! I can see the hard work put into the level design, while the graphics isn't anything too special, and mixing two different art styles is a bit strange, and the size of the tiles vs the size of the character feels a bit weird as well in terms of proportion, but overall still a neat concept.

Theme interpretation is pretty basic, but I'd say it's fine.

Game looks very polished, the music doesn't quite fit for me but maybe that's just a personal preference. I like how the instructions are given out step by step, makes it really easy to figure the game out! I didn't really finish the whole game, there seems to be a lot more to it, though it seems to me the progression is simply harder enemies and more recipes.

Overall, a pretty polished game for a game jam, I really liked the pixel art, and animations, and the theme interpretation is pretty charming, not too violent, so that's a plus too!

I like the music, it really drives home the mood, although it's nothing to write home about. The door opening sound effect gives me the chills as well.

Overall the gameplay is pretty simple, it's basically a clicker where you need to avoid the bad stuff.

The pixel is pretty nice, and although I'm not a huge fan of jump scares, I think you executed that one pretty well.

I was a bit bothered by not having an obvious way to close the "help sheet" presented in the game, but that's about it for the "complaints" that I would have.

I like the fact that it has a full fledged menu with all the graphics settings and audio settings

Thanks for the review! I did add one sound effect and a BGM to the game! Maybe there was some technical issue? It did work for some people I asked to play test... Maybe there's some weird problem... But anyway, thanks so much for reviewing, I'll be sure to check out your submission too!

I'm glad you enjoyed the story, it actually had a lot of world building and rich lore to it but the story itself is quite self contained, maybe the story could use a little expansion in the future, as I really like the universe we created.

The gameplay itself was an idea I had for a long time, kind of like an arcade puzzle versus game (think puyo pop or tetris battle) with some RPG elements sprinkled in. I initially just wanted to make it a 2 player game but then I thought I really liked games with a story focus so I decided to make it single player with a story mode (I ended up not having enough time to make the 2 player versus mode for the jam, but I'm thinking to keep working on the game to add that in!)

A pretty surreal experience, that's all I could say without spoiling too much about the visual novel. There are plenty of typos here and there but I didn't have too much of a problem with that.

I feel like the addition of some soundtracks would help with the atmosphere of this game greatly.

All in all, it's a neat little story.

I can't remember the name but I've seen a more fleshed out version of this concept before in the form of a steam game.

That being said, it's pretty enjoyable and I'm a sucker for gravity physics based puzzle games.

I liked the voice over, quite enjoyed the dry humor and the obvious reference to a certain franchise and how you tie it into the theme.

I find that being able to be hit by your own projectiles can be quite jarring, like if I move forward while firing it will easily hit myself, but I could deal with that.

Maybe if there was some visual indication that enemies are being hit would be great, because right now the projectile simply disappears into enemies.

I just noticed there isn't really music in this game? I have nothing much to say about the sound effects.

The graphics are alright, reminiscent of good old online flash games I used to play, though of course they're nothing to write home about.

I've used your voice pack in my game for a gamejam: https://itch.io/jam/game-off-2020/rate/836750

It really fit with the characters of the game!

I feel like I could just pick up and play the game without much need to explain the mechanics, which is great! Simple and pretty enjoyable gameplay, and quite challenging in difficulty too! I didn't expect there to be some puzzle elements in it but it's a nice mechanic that definitely adds to the game.

Such a fun game, I got hooked and kept playing this game for a period of time haha. Definitely love the mechanics and putting in the code for the rocket path is so satisfying when it all works!

Thanks for your review! Yeah it does lack a lot of polish which I would've tried doing if I had a bit more time, agreed that one of the things I would improve on is better visual indicators, sound effects and animations to indicate clearing of the bubbles and an actual in-game tutorial or perhaps tutorial levels that introduce game mechanics one by one.
