From the traceback, it looks like the default hyperlink style, instead of the footnote hyperlink style, is being used, causing it to attempt to jump to a label titled "1". If this string is occurring in the say screen (as part of regular dialogue), make sure that the line `gui.dialogue_text_hyperlink_functions = (build_base_style, partial(lambda _: None), hover_capture)` is present in the footnotes.rpy file, and that you don't override the value of gui.dialogue_text_hyperlink_functions somewhere else. If this string is occurring in some other context, like a choice screen, make sure the text is given the style attribute `hyperlink_functions (build_base_style, partial(lambda _: None), hover_capture)`. The tag was designed to be used on dialogue shown in the say screen, so it only sets the hyperlink style specific for dialogue text by default.

Thanks for the comment! To answer your questions:
- I did not add in a method to do this.
- You should be able to add text tags to the footnotes.
- The footnotes code uses the `dialogue_text_hyperlink_functions` style property to manage the hover behaviour, which is why you weren't able to get multiple types of hyperlink to work simultaneously. One of the main drawbacks of the design I used is that it hijacks the use of hyperlinks in dialogue. There's not an easy way to work around this as far as I know.
Thanks! There's no way to do that built-in. You could do it pretty easily for just the text by putting text tags on the footnotes. For the frame, though, I'd have to think about it. The thing that jumps to mind would be modifying the footnotes dict to have tuple values, where the tuples are like (footnote_text, style), and then changing the tag code appropriately. The screen could then read the style name instead of just setting a fixed style_prefix.
Thanks so much for the kind comment! I really appreciate it. Although I don't have plans to finish Employee A in the incarnation given in this demo, I may revisit the story and try to give it a proper end. That might be as a visual novel, it might be as a short story or novella, or it might be something else entirely. Who knows! But seeing that this story is still generating interest does inspire me to revisit it.
Hi there! I think you'll be interested in my short sci Fi VN Lamprey. It's a sci Fi story about four coworkers who become trapped after a failed experiment with an AI. Download free here: https://cross-couloir.itch.io/lamprey
Hi! I'm not sure how interested you are in visual novels, but I recently released a solo developed VN called Lamprey and if you're interested, I'd love to hear your thoughts. It's a sci-fi visual novel about four coworkers who become trapped together after a mishap with an experimental AI. I developed it for the SuNoFes game jam, where it's been one of the most popular and highest rated entries. It only takes about 60-90 minutes to play through - give it a try!

Thanks for letting me know. I might just make the game free with donations until the full build comes out.
For what it's worth, this seems like it makes the "free demo" feature for paid games kinda not worth it as a pre-release promotional tool. My plan was to use my demo as a way to gather interest before the release, and I can still do that, but it's unfortunate that using the "free demo" feature won't really work for that.
Hello,
My game Employee A is not showing in Itch browse or search results - it can only be seen by direct navigation. I have heard that sometimes it can take some time for games with a minimum price to be approved by an admin, but I have had free demo files available for 72 hours now and the status of the game's search indexing has not changed. I've emailed itch support over this several times with no response yet.
Will I just need to mark the game as free until the full non-demo builds of the game are ready? Do I need to mark the game as "released" even though only the demo is currently available?
