It works now, good game!  A bit too simple, you coudl try adding different types of flies that move in different ways or require more than one click to kill.

Very nice mechanic, I wish you would have put more time into it, but it´s a nice start for just 4 hours :)

Very cute game! It got a chuckle or two out of me, I like the innocence of the character and the music sets the mood perfectly, I love how it adpats to the time of day. The ending was great, lol. I wish there were more things to do, but that would go against the core premise  of the game, so I understand it. I enocurage people to put 13 minutes into this to see the ending, it´s well worth it.

Very solid entry, great job!

Wow, thanks for the video, it really helps a lot! You´re completely right with the controls and I should also make the game more welcoming at the start, explaining better the range of the attacks and making it a bit less complex in the first waves. The MISS cooldown is just like your viewer said; it´s designed to prevent the player from mashing the buttons, you need to hit once at the right time. What´s more, landing a hit allows you to instantly cancel the attack into a new one, so you´ll always have time to act on new enemies.

Thanks again and specially for taking the time to stream this and share it, being able to watch you play the game while you comment on it is invaluable feedback!

Amazing mechanics! Very simple yet incredibly inventive, I wonder how this hasn´t been made before. The idea of the enemies creating more danger as you kill them so you can control the danger, but at the same time needing the money to buy stuff and having to kill the enemies before they disappear....I don´t know if I would change anything. Maybe I would get rid of the circle and have just the square. You could add stuff that accelerated the rotation, or which gave you two squares (double shot power but dobule the risk!) enemies that move or explode in different ways...I´m sure you´ve already though of some of these and you just didn´t have time to include them, I hope you develop this further as you can do many cool things with these mechanics!!

The game looks great, but the controls are too tricky! You should reduce the inertia of the character and use bigger platforms, at least at the beginning until the player has had some time to get accustomed to the movement. Also, make the player jump when the key is pressed instead of when it releases, it feels veryun responsive to have it on release.

The fox sprite is amazing, I love it and it´s animations.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the UI is very blurry, there´s an update in the way that fixes this. Regarding the special, it also heals one heart so you have to decide if you want to save it for when you´re low on health...Maybe I´ll upgrade it to healing all hearts so the decission has more weight.

Gameplay is simple, it´s all I could do in 3 days. But I´m already working on adding something more, stay tuned!

Thanks again for your comments!

Wow, thanks a lot!!! And many thanks for your suggestion on how to ease in new players without boring veterans, I´ve been trying ways to do it but couldn´t find anything. Your idea is just what I was looking for and it will be very easy to implement!

You´re also right with the controls, Ctrl/Shift was such a bad choice to make as Shift poses problems for Windows users and Ctrl does so for Mac ones. After the voting period ends I´ll update the game with different default controls, configurable keys as well as your awesome method to ease in new players.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, really :)

I just added a zip file, hope you enjoy the game!

Oh, I saw the green particle effect but that is usually used for poison and trash so I wasn´t sure that it was signaling the healthy food. Maybe using a more lively green for the particles could help.

Very original mechanic! And it fits the theme perfectly as well. If you could work on randomizing the obstacles better this could become a very interesting game!

Yeah I can relate to that, with the tight jam schedule you already implemented a lot of stuff like the different types of ants, you must´ve worked really hard!

Thanks a lot for the sweet comment :) The other game could be Yie Ar Kung-Fu?

Glad you liked it!

Ohh I see now! I could open all doors, nice game, I enjoyed it! The sound volume is sometimes too high, maybe look into that.

Any tips?

I like the eery atmosphere but I don´t understand  what I´m supposed to do, can you open any doors?

BTW, nice detail shwoing the characters ass when it turns around lol

The game won´t start, I´m using Chrome+Win10, sorry.

Very nice idea, but you need to control better enemy spawning and maybe make the game a bit easier by giving the player more space to move, most times I felt like I couldn´t make any choices, only run away until I ran out of space.

Great idea and very well executed! I love the music, it sets the right tone. The main mechanic is very nice, with you having to carefully get all the items in the list first and then avoid the rest. Making granny rush in one direction of the other with the sound of the cart is hilarious. Congratulations, you did a great job!

Great game, I love the setting, the music, the graphics and the main idea is very original. However I found it very difficult, the syringe is too fast and is impossible to control, I always ended up dying too soon. With some balance I could see this becomeing a very fun game :)

I love the look of this, the colors, the style...and in movement it looks even better! The game is fun to play but with the graphics so small sometimes it isn´t clear exactly what the food is and if it´s good or not,, maybe you could some visual effect that made it clear that the food is junk or not?

I really love how this looks, can´t stop looking at the screenshots, you did an amazing job!

Simple but very entertaining and very well done. Very minimalistic, I like a lot the style. When you figure it out and it clicks it ´s really addictive!

Very nice idea, the game looks great, it´s polished...but the audio steals the show, awesome job! Only nitpick is that I don´t like using WASD+SPACE, you could´ve used the arrow keys or a different key instead of SPACE, but this combination is a bit weird to use for me.

Still, I enjoyed it and the sound guy deserves a rise!

Very nice idea, but I think it´s missing something. I found that just trying to move towards the center would keep me alive without having to see the incoming directions. Maybe you could do something like having the player react to short waves of inputs in a few seconds. For example, show "UP UP RIGHT DOWN" and the player has to give his inputs before the bubbles reach the top, or something like that. You could even add coloured text that altered the meaning, or draw the text upside down or...This is such a  great idea I can see it expanding in many different ways, you did a great job!

Very original idea, I can see this developing in many interesting ways. I think you could draw hidden parts of the map in a darker tone and reveal the visited parts, that woudl help with the exploration.  Great job!

I think this is my favourite entry so far. It´s adorable, the mechanics are nice, the graphics are good, the puzzles are interesting and everything´s very polished. I love how you used signs to give theinstructions but they also doubled as check-points and reset points for the levels! And you even designed the levels so they worked when teh player restarted from the checkpoint, even though they were on different places from where he enters the level at first! My hat´s off to you!

One small nitpick is that SPACE+WASD isn´t a very comfortable combination for me, if you develop this any further (you shoudl!) consider adding configurable controls or using the arrow jeys instead of WASD or something.

In the last screen before the chest I broke the stones from below, but as I was pressing UP and mashing SPACE I pushed the rock upwards to the corner. Somehow I manage to push the rock to the right, enter the previous level, reset it and get back to the final challenge, but maybe you should add something to prevent this from happening or add a checkpoint in that last screen. For a moment I thought I was stuck.

Awesome job, loved it!

Ohh thanks a lot!! :D

Lol I saw that when testing but it made me chuckle so I left it in, glad you enjoyed it! And looking at the comments it doesn´t look like you suck, more like I made the game incredibly difficult!

Yeah I understand what you mean but the whole game is designed around the idea of having the enemies move at different speeds, a lot of the work these days has been in setting up a system that calculated their required time to reach the player and determine the time when the needed to spawn all depending on a random speed the system assigned them. In previous tests, having them all move at set speeds made the game incredibly dull and predictable. Also, the theme of the jam is "A Lot of" so I wanted there to be many enemies on screen to give the impression that you´re facing a ton of enemies and not just independet streams of 1 or 2 at a time. If you managed to activate the special, it´s this very concept in its´ more raw form.

What I´m trying to say is that I value your feedback a lot and sorry if it looked like I dismissed your suggestions too quickly, I completely agree with your complaints but I think that the solution should take a different shape to mesh with the main design ideas behind the game and not change it too much into something else.

I think that in the end I may have set the maximum speed too high and also I should´ve made it so that faster enemies should have some kind of priority and be drawn on top of the others to maximize their visibility.  This is also why I said that I should´ve given them more distinct sprites, I tried doing so but it was very difficult with a size of 16x16px and a very limited color palette . Also, I should´ve made it so that the enemies reached the player in more extreme positions (high or low) instead of in intermediate ones, that only adds up to the mess.

If you don´t agree with anything I said please don´t hold back, your comment has made me think about this issue a lot and consider new ways to improve the game, so thanks a lot for your feedback!

I love this, there´s no objective but somehow it´s impossible to stop playing it, great work!

The most original game of the jam by far, great work! Unfortunately I couldn´t beat it but I still enjoyed it :)

Yup you´re absolutely right, it was a huge oversight on my part. Glad you enoyed the game! and thanks for the feedback

Simple and fun game :) I suggest you check when the rocks are generated so they don´t spawn on top of coins.

Really great game, I love everything about it: the gameplay, the aesthetics, the sound design, the music...it´s very polished and feels like a complete game, you did an amazing job.

I love the setting and the intriguing quotes when you die, they give the game a ton of personality. The glowing moon, the big shadows of other buildings moving with the parallax effect, the plague doctors...it´s very moody, I´d love to see more locations and characters with this style.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to try it! Playing le-bouc-emissaire now ;)

Wooohhh thanks a lot, my face is beaming right now!

There is sound, I can´t understand why you couldn´t hear it :/ I added a windows download, you coudl try it as I think sound adds a lot to the game.

Thanks again!

I agree that it can get messy at times, maybe I should give the enemies more distintct sprites. Thansk a lot for the feedback!
