bro this game hard as hell

the dopamine rush of killing a bunch of enemies in a single drift is something I didn't know I could feel. I think a pressed restart at least 100 times with how addicting that to chase that fantasy, and I think you did an AMAZING job with the juice of the game. enemy spawns at times felt a little unfair, but that didn't stop me from pressing restart over and over again.

great work!

what a lovely game!! very underrated for sure..I really like the style of this game I think the darker gritty vibe is such an unexpected take on the theme. absolutely lovely art and i like the difficulty slider i think that's a pretty cool accessibility option that i've never thought of.

could use some more juice and vfx, but that's just the nature of a short jam like this one.

amazing game!!

I love how the shell talks to you too. I wish there was a route for them too.

I don't play many visual novels, but this one I was actually really locked in for. I messed up my route with Paint and so I ended up playing it twice LOL. I really love what you did here with the writing and theming. Having a game that revolves around getting people out of their "shell" while also being in a computer shell and interacting with them through a shell of your own is just so genius. I REALLY love what you did here. 5 stars.

ay thanks goat

I'm not good at platformers, in fact I'm pretty bad at them actually, but I powered my way through this game for a while and had so much fun doing it. There's a level satisfaction to figuring out a mechanic or how to get around an obstacle that's almost puzzle-like and I just had so much doing it. I really like the mechanic of throwing shells, jumping off of them and then landing a jump you thought was impossible is just so satisfying. Great work, you really nailed the gameplay!!

I like that overcharge shot idea...I would love to have different roomba types if we ever expand this game out.

I like the quiet, eeriness this game has.  I also like the mechanic of moving the artillery and grabbing each individual shell. The atmosphere is really good, I think you did a really good job on that

"oh my god it's mini golf"

Really really fun game. The story is really cute and made me giggle a bunch. I didn't know you could jump until the water fall level, so I was stuck on that for a bit.

The environment and map design is really cool and I love that every level has its own theming / puzzle. Really loved your game!!!

You did such a good job on the main mechanic of this game oh my goodness. I'm such a huge fan of how the commands popup overhead and the franticness of trying to not get caught when the commands are getting inputted. It reminds me of the Warioware game for the Wii-U. I also just love this style of game I think you created something really cool here.

you are genuinely a comedic genius oh my god

I really like the idea of treating bodies as shells in this game!! I don't know if you've ever played SUPERHOT but it's done in that game and I like it in this game too because of how weapons work. I did run into a bug where an enemy clipped out of bounds in my playthrough, but other than that I really loved your game!!

I don't think I stopped smiling once while playing this game. This game has so much charm it's frightening.

I actually really do like the idea of a factory building game where you're actively reshaping and rebuilding your factory to current conditions. It makes for a kind of optimization in factory games where you build things very modularly and swap them out when needed. It's honestly a pretty cool idea.

However, I don't think the events in this game (the dialogue in the left corner) really enforced that ideology. Instead a lot of my gameplay was trying to figure out what I was even doing, but I eventually got the hang of it.

Anyway, the sense of humor in this game is really funny. This game is really funny. And with some elbow grease it could be insanely good too.

You guys are absolute geniuses with art!! The opening cutscene and character design is really cute and I love the little main character guy. I think the level design has pretty cool moments (I like the part where you're over a pit of spikes and you have to quickly swap shells and use the time slow mechanic).

I think this game lacks a little in game-feel, but that just comes with a harsh time limit like this in a game jam. Otherwise, pretty cool game guys!!

ts game some genius

heya!!

good game and love the concept!! adding a "near miss" shot would be nice. it could do less damage and be a little inaccurate, but helps the player keep on the right track.

they used the sugar engine

https://trasevol-dog.itch.io/sugar

very fire would play again.

also, try getting a web build of this so more people play it, just a good game jam tip.

cheers!

-that guy who made that fish shooting game

yo so like the game works now and stuff

thanks for playing!!

Love the visuals of this game! feels very polished for a game made in 3 days!! i also love how to used the limitation in this game, making me plan out when to jump and whether its worth it or not.

loved this interpretation of the theme! the visuals were pretty good and the puzzles were very thought-out.

wish the game was a bit longer though...

thank you!!

im glad you enjoyed your playthrough :D

this game is probably the best i've seen in the jam so far. the visuals are done really nicely, the enemy types blend well with the game and honestly it's really fun to play. i'd recommend making a web build of this so more people could play this because this is a criminally underrated game for this jam.

some things you could add to the game could be screen shake to make shooting feel more powerful, and a dash that could kill enemies to make for some brutally fun gameplay.

all in all, a fantastic game.

a very interesting take on the tower defense genre, had a lot of fun playing through the 2 levels.

oddly, i couldn't summon the penguin wizard. i wanted to see what he did :(

oddly enough, this a mechanic i was planning on adding to my game lol.

really fun game, the harpoon body slam mechanic is really satisfying to do when you get the hang of

it.

although the third area is insanely difficult with the big enemies jamming you into walls and such.

thanks for playing!!

thank you for playing our game!!

thanks! i was planning on adding a little meter on the side to tell the player how close they were to the end but we ran out of time lol.

thanks for playing!

i was planning on doing a lot more with the sound design but we ran out of time lol.

thanks for playing!

morbin thank you

best dev of all time right here

im going to be real this was one of the best uses of the limitation I've seen in the entire jam. this game was so immersive, it really made me feel like I was bob the fish.

(1 edit)

im going to be real, i walked into this game thinking it was going to be pretty bad. And for the first 5 minutes i thought it was. but then i started playing it more and realized that this game is a work of genius. the movement feels really bad when you start but later on you can use it to your advantage to get the most insane level skips of all time. the lore of this game is very heartfelt and moving, with bill being one of the best video game characters i have ever seen and with his redemption arc at the very end. lastly, the soundtrack was amazing, it really got me feeling i was morbius(the vampire).

thank you TheWillgamer for making this amazing game.

in all honesty tho, this was the most fun game in the jam I've played so far.

this is the most game i've ever played in my life. playing this has truly changed my life and I now know what is under the ocean. thank you Voldite for this life-changing masterpiece.

however, there was a limitation on health being tool that isn't covered here sadly.

great concept! could use some work on the gameplay though. also maybe a tutorial? i had no clue what was going on for like 15 minutes in my first playthrough.

reminded me a lot of "getting over it"
great concept! but could use some work to get the game feeling less janky.

really fun concept! i loved the last puzzle. pacing is a bit strange, but hey with a bit of polish this game could be a really good puzzle platformer.

the music was really good! also the secrets were very well hidden and I had fun finding them.

love the pixel art for this game! reminds me a lot of motherload.

with a bit more polish and some new mechanics (like enemies and such) it could be really fun!

could definitely use a music track, the game gets kinda boring doing the same thing over and over again in complete silence. I do think the idea is fun though, became interesting with the difficulty started to ramp up.

all in all, a good time killer.
