Use of the limitation
The health is the fuel for the mining. Each mined block costs some, while the red minerals can replenish it.

I ate 3-4 almond / peanut coated with chocolate (size of a coin and it looks like a tofefee a bit) if it counts :D

Welp, first run it crashed. Once it got working, the mineoid was about 10hp lost before I could even see the screen due to it bumping on stuff. Maybe a 3-2-1-GO style thing could help, or a "Press Enter to Drop" could help with this.

Despite that, it's neat and a very cool concept executed consistently. The ambience is good and the sounds are cool. I also hit escape to pause and it just closed Godot. Even if it seems simple, give playes all of the controls they have and the experience will be better.

Good job though, seriously.

Hello Atanii,

Despite being relatively simple, the idea is very interesting, I think it's a great mini-game! I had a very strong nostalgia with the world generation screen, it reminds me a lot of old classic mini-games, the concept is very solid and the aesthetics of the game was cool! Good job!

i love the art this game and how simple the game is to understand. however, I do feel like the player is a bit too difficult to control and it honestly just feels like chaos for most of my playthroughs with it.

That isn't a bad thing in my eyes though, it is really funny to see the miner bounce all over the screen.

All in all, a nice game to play every once in a while.

Thanks :D I'm glad you liked the art.

The lack of control was intentional. The idea was to put the player in the hands of the physics engine (mostly) and let it roll. - Pun intended.

Hi, neat little game!

The first thing I would note is how long the world generation takes versus how long a game session takes. For my first couple tries the loading was longer than the following play time. I would suggest only generating the world a bit at a time as the game plays, rather than generate it all from the start in one go.

I always find it intriguing when player input is less direct control of the player character, and more just suggestions to the game, which is what it felt like here. Definitely has more of a chaotic vibe to it that adds to the "see how far you can go" vibe.

And I always dig that simple pixel aesthetic!

World gen:

I've got not much experience with "endless runner" style games and continuous world generating.

At first it generated big parts at all time...but it was laggy. After some struggling, and experimenting I came up with the idea of a two phase generation. First it generates a chunk of a big size - the thing behind the loading screen - then as the player moves it generates only way smaller parts and it's limited not to go too far ahead of the player. + Blocks are destroyed after some time.

It's still pretty slow...I configured it to make only a small chunk pre-generated. It was faster but surprisingly I left the world generation boundaries behind after some time and the player basically felt out of map.

Alltogether, in spite of the unoptimized implementation I think it was a really nice experience...next time it'll be better.

I'm glad you liked it :D

Gameplay:

I wanted to have the physics engine most of the control. I'm happy it turned out to be more fun than annoying!
