No, absolutely a design flaw on my part! This is my first game, so I'm seeing that I have a lot to learn when it comes to level design.

Thanks for the feedback!

Cute (loved the little roast bird death sprite lol). I'd have a lot of fun with this as a mobile game too.

Awesome job! The environment looks really great!

I liked the gameplay! Besides what other people are saying, if you're planning to expand the game, I think I would've liked the option to rotate the position of the bots.

Also I dig the style. Good job!

Your sprite animations are really smooth. Also, I really like the clone mechanic! I did find myself wishing the clone key was different though, so I wouldn't have to take my fingers off of WASD (my hands are pretty small, so reaching my pinky to the tab key is pretty uncomfortable).

(1 edit)

The gameplay was great! It took maybe two-three levels to get a feel for the controls, but after that, they felt pretty intuitive. The sound mixing was great too!

EDIT: Sorry my browser had a fit and posted my comment multiple times.

Hi! Thanks for streaming our games! This is mine (Last Light):

Yeah that's a bug I should've caught in the HTML version! I'm pretty new to godot and programming so I didn't realize right away that some features wouldn't work the same way in the browser. I probably wouldn't have noticed without you guys pointing it out, though! (Learning so much lol)

Thanks for playing!

I like the idea of using WASD and the arrow keys, but they were a bit counterintuitive. 1) On keyboard and mouse, WASD are usually the default movement keys and 2) in a two joystick format the left joystick (usually) is mapped to move while the right is mapped to look around. That being said, I know some left-handed people choose to go with a southpaw config, so having the option to switch between WASD/Move and WASD/Look would be awesome. That way people could pick what's more intuitive to them.

I think the only thing that was difficult to react to were the droplets. Otherwise, I  thought the speed and timing of everything else were great. Definitely helps to be a fast typer for sure!

I thought it was a  really interesting take on the theme. Really engaging once I got into it! I agree with what some others said about the overlapping tokens being hard to grab. I also think that when they spawned right on top of the cards, it made it hard to read.

I liked it! I like the music and I also like the difficulty curve. With a game like this, which I'm playing a couple times over, I like that it accelerates pretty quickly into spawning a lots of eyeball horns.

Loved the art! The hand-drawn style was awesome and really fit the atmosphere

I escaped! I don't think you necessarily need enemies, but different types of rocks and different ways to deal with them might have been cool. Could make for an interesting roguelite imo

Loved the ship animation! And great difficulty curve, too. Simple but super well executed!

Yo! I knew I already liked the art from what you posted on reddit.. The gameplay loop + progression to each level was really fun and natural too. It's already super polished for a game jam game, but I think there's a lot of potential here if you wanted to make it a full game, especially with a few tweaks with UI and balancing. Anyway, it was a lot of fun! I would've totally been down to play more levels lol
