Hi there,

it took us a while longer than expected to finish up what we promised after the Game Jam but now we are back with the final update, for now.

We added controller support, a third person camera, a high score system, some audio and fixed the last bugs.

This project was a lot of fun and we would like to thank everyone who played the game for all the feedback.

PS: Post your high score below. Lets see how far you can push it.

Hi there,

it took us a while longer than expected to get back to the development after the Game Jam but now we are back at it. We expect the first patch to be ready in a few days (December 2025). You can expect controller support as well as new camera options and a few bugfixes after this patch we start adjusting the gameplay and changing the direction of the game a bit.

Thank you. Glad you liked it.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a long comment with such great and detailed feedback.
There are a few things, we will address in a polishing patch after the rating phase is over.  (Like clarification of what to do and when,  as well as some balancing and other feedback we got)
For the rest we are still thinking about if we will continue to work on it as a learning path or go on to the next game.
Either way, thank you very much for the great feedback. We are so glad you liked it even in its current state.
It means a lot.

I love tower defense games. And this is a solid one.
Nice idea to let the player decide when to end the round. That opens up some new strategy options.
Great Work.

Thank you very much, now I have to check out Escape from the City.

The Backroom Chicken. A masterclass in voice acting. Made me laugh!
And the directionality of the chicken sounds was great. Made it quite easy to know what was going on.

Great work!

Nicely done. Art sounds and music are very well put together. And a poem? Nice touch.
Only the dropped stone seemed to have a slightly to big hitbox.
Apart form that really great.

I enjoyed it!

I really like the visual art style and the music.
The intro could be a bit faster.
Looks like a strong base to build upon.
Great work!

As you wrote more of a prototype. The art is really quite nice and the animations and sound are already well done. Keep it up and it will be great in the end.

Thank you very much.
Hehe, Pac-Man was indeed one of the games we took inspiration from.

Great game!
From art over music to animation. Everything fits well together and feels nice.
I have no idea what a great deckbuilder / autobattler should look like (never played one before).
But this one felt great. Maybe I will look more into this genre now, seems fun. Thanks for the introduction.

Amazing work.

Very well done. Nice sound design, great art and good animation.
I just wasn't able to get to the top of the building. But I think that was my lack of skill.
Great work!

Interesting idea to use the crumbs to deal damage. I liked that.
Music, sfx and art were all very nicely done and quite fitting.
The hitboxes were a little vague and could need some polish.
Apart from that, very solid game.

Great Work.

Thank you very much.
We plan to make at least a polishing update after the rating period is over.
Maybe we will use this game for further learning and add some more gameplay mechanics, enemies etc.
But no promises on that.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Will check out your game now.

Great to hear that you liked it.
We will add an option for turning on v-sync in our polish update after the rating phase is over.
Great Feedback.
Thank you very much.

Thank you very much.
Great to hear that one can get lost in it that way.

Thank you very much.

The game is great.
I love the visuals and the ambient sound. Especially the grass shader looks amazing.
Has a great atmosphere.

Really well done.

Solid entry for a tower defense game. I liked the idea of rolling for towers.
Only two things that might be cool to see would be faster rolling and a rework of the bread/wall tower.
One bug: If i want to click on the build tower icon the camera starts to move. The camera activation needs to be closer to the border of the screen.

Apart from that, very great work.
Well done.

I love the SCP universe and this fits right in.

Great job creating the fitting story and atmosphere.

I loved it.

That was very eerie and the dog gives me chills.
Great work. The first game I saw so far that was really different from the rest. In a good way.

Nicely done!

What a great idea. Especially making everything chain react is so smart and grounded in reality.

Simple yet amazing.

Great Work. Really enjoyed this one.

The need to watch for the enemies eyes is a great idea.
Neat little Game with great music.

Great work!

Well critique is not the right word. Its just the advice i would give.
Keep at it! You are right on track.

For the first project pretty solid.
The only thing i would critique at this stage would be the getting stuck on collisions with the walls.
Focus on the basics first and everything else will fall into place.

Great Work!

You got it!

Rate Energy Extraction by Cheep Cheep Studio, CheepCheepStudio-Annika for Brackeys Game Jam 2025.2 - itch.io

Very solid foundation! The music is very fitting. The dunking and rotating is made very well.
The only gripe I have with it is that I do not seem to get very many crumbs even when I dunk again and again.
Apart from that, great Work!

Very well fleshed out little game.
The beginning was quite challenging but in a good way.
Kept me wanting to play again to be successful next time.

Great work!

Glad to hear that you liked it.
Yeah we were not sure how to handle the light switching exactly. I think we will check it against its velocity to get rid of it while sitting idle.
We will have to think about that it bit more.
Great feedback.

Nicely done.
I really like the art, quite eerie. And it does not look rushed. The sound design is also pretty neat. Everything fits well together.

Great Work!

Keep going. You are right on track.

Thank you very much.
So glad you enjoyed it!

Very nice little deck builder.
Completely bug free and well fleshed out.
Great Work!

Really nice little game. The music was so relaxing that i played way longer than i anticipated.
Very good to relax a bit after work.
Have not found any bugs.
Great Work!

Great Job!
I like that i can slide down the wall. That felt very smooth.
The sounds and art fitted very well together.

Got kind of stuck in a platform a few times but managed to jump out of it again.
Apart from that, very enjoyable.

Keep going!

Yep, thats what i thought. Pure wizardry.

Great Game!
The sound design is very solid especially the ambient sounds.
And the game has a great atmosphere.

I have a suggestion for your download:
If you don't nest the game files in a folder before zipping (just zip the game files directly) people can install your game via the itch.io app. You can avoid the nasty windows defender warning this way. Maybe helps the visibility a bit.

Apart from that, nice work!

Great Game.

The thick dark atmosphere is really nice.
Audio and music were very fitting.
The possibility to gain hp back by melee and tying the shooting to life was a clever idea.

Enjoyed this!

Thank you very much. We are glad you liked it.
This was our first attempt at a full game.
We agree it is not always clear what to do.

We will make a more polished Version after the rating phase of the jam is over.
Thanks for the feedback.
