Thanks! The idea came together quick, such a fun prompt and picture!

Love the dichotomy between the two themes. Sound selection is perfect and the melodies are great!

thanks! most of the panning is dealt with already in the samples I'm using, just narrowed a few down to not be as far out or wide.

appreciate the feedback!

woohoo! thanks!

Thankyou! much appreciated!

Really well done ambience/vibe! I am curious to hear what the main theme would sound like with some of the piano notes in a lower octave, and having a bit less wind noise.

100% can see this game in my head as I listen, good work!

Thanks for the feedback! <3

ahhh, thankyou so much!

ahhh, did not mean to come off accusatory, sorry. Just didn't read your writeup super well and was initially confused about which one to "review". Thanks for the clarification, and keep up the food work!

Awesome stuff. Just clarifying that your main theme is the submission for this challenge, correct? The other themes were all posted to soundcloud earlier in the week.

Getting some very John Williams vibes from this; and I really like how you layered mallet percussion with the high winds. very cool!

so awesome! especially love ambience of the first two. really good sound choices, can definitely hear hits underscoring a game well.

Keep it up! all your ideas are spot on!

Wow, thank you so much for this feedback! I'll make sure to check yours out as well. If something I write conjures up an image of returning to the shire, then thats a win by me

thanks!! I'll give yours a listen in a bit too!

Cohesion between the pieces is great. Great way to get the most out of similar instrumentation and motifs. I think it fits the game you are describing VERY well. Bravo!

So cool. Love the "hopefulness" that I feel listening to this. Instrumentation choices are great. Only critique is that I wish the solo piano melody near the end was a little bit louder.  Super good work!
Also just a heads up, it looks like your soundcloud link does not work.

Yeah!!! The bassline in track 2 and the synth solo in track 4 are real highlights for me. You had me with the title track though, so perfect. Can't think of any real critiques, so stoked on this.

Yeah that is tough, the composition really shines through though! so so good!

I can picture this boss fight in my head so clearly! The mix of piano/bells/accordion(musette?) for the second theme is especially magical. Everything works well together, and the transitions are spot-on.

Using real gear sounds so nice and warm, love it! The glitched out beat in the second track is a highlight for me, could definitely see these underscoring a game well. good stuff!

Enjoyed these a lot, especially the playfulness of the first track. Definitely can imagine dancing wood sprites and fey creatures frolicking in the woods.

One suggestion I have is to adjust the velocities of your piano and brass notes more individually, or even just randomize them. It would help shape the lines, add realism, and have them feel less heavy/same-y.

Love the compositional ideas you had, and good instrument choices for each section. Good stuff!

So vibey, love it! Really easy to imagine each scene in my head; and the instrument choice is spot on.
a few thoughts:

1) might be nice to have a bigger difference in tempo between pieces, especially the battle piece at the end might have more impact if faster.

2) adding some modulation "wiggles" in sustained string notes can help them sound a bit more life-like and less synthy/same-y

3) might be worth volume balancing between tracks a bit, the last 2 really jumped out after the softness of the first 2.

These are minor details though; overall I REALLY enjoyed listening to these.

Love that this was performed and not midi! Really like the ideas overall, especially the use of descending octave patterns to convey heaviness/"mean-ness". Quality of the audio limits the scope of games I could imagine this in, but I think it works well overall. Awesome job, and awesome playing

Love the transition from string to electronic elements! Could easily picture the game in my mind as this played. Mixing is good too, I think this could play in a game and not be too distracting/overwhelming. Love it!

Love the unnerving ambience, its like an audio uncanny valley. Well done!
