A fair point, I haven’t played on hell or doom difficulty, and I don’t usually let my world level pass 50. Correct me if I’m wrong, but world level and difficulty does not increase experience or money awarded? In that case, you’re choosing between a challenge or efficiency, and I favor efficiency. I can always change the difficulty after I hit the level cap. Regarding the higher difficulty, does all food expire, or just soups? I also didn’t know that mysterious smoked meat could reduce disease, is that explained anywhere?

I eventually aim for 15 SUR because hitchhiker feels OP, but if you aren’t at a decent level SUR doesn’t help with most builds, so Good Soup is way better until you can afford the points (eg. level 50+), and by then the profit from smoked meat is far outclassed by saving women or baby farming.

As for saving the women, they move super slow, and even if you use acolyte healing them doesn’t remove their chains, so you can’t tell me using stones to distract the babies is slower. I guess if you are playing above world level 50 maybe it gets more challenging, but before then I’ve barely ever had a problem. You can always kill the 2-3 strays, save the women first, then pop the bodies for an extra 2-3 babies to collect.

The RNG factor applies to saving the women too though, since the moot only award exp not coin, and while there will always be at least 6 possible babies, there can be anywhere from 0 to 5 women in the northern tower. I guess you could prioritize just saving the women without having to make a trip back due to weight or breastfeeding due to day changes, and if you really wanted to collect meat at the same time you could rent a horse, but I firmly believe baby farming is anywhere from 2x to 4x faster for making money.

The exchange rate for the non-standard smoked meat is way lower, you’d need something like 400 humaned smoked meat, or around 230 mystery smoked meat for a single gold coin.

I haven’t played much with the prostitution mechanic, is it possible to actually make a decent income that way? Is that only possible in the nobles district, or is there a trick to it?

My problem with smoked meats is they require a 10 SUR investment to craft, and restore 6 less food than Good Soup which requires no trait investment. For a meager 8 large copper you can afford the round trip to fishtopia and the full leather set to boost SUR and increase fruit and veggie spawn rates.

As for cash, using stealth and a weak strike from behind to KO the stray goblin babies and you can pick them up. As many as you can carry, which makes CON / Succubus builds amazing for this. A stack of 12-18 goblin children will net you 2-3 gold coins, and if you can’t make the trip back in a day you can use the Breast MOD (A) to produce enough milk for the day change, but it is possible to enter the northern tower 3-4 times from the start of daytime, and with full stamina make the trip back to Elise by sprinting on the world map. You can of course also rescue the women and grind the orkind ears repeatable quest for additional rewards from the guild.

As for experience, while saving captured women is certainly fruitful, I found that clearing one-time quests on repeat via rebirth can be nearly twice as fast to reach level 99. A much less monotonous grind spanning approx. 2 hours before world level reaches 20 while making enough gold to sail away without any exp loss following this list:

  • Rat Tails from Tutorial for 2 Large Copper
  • Optional SCU 15+ Sneak into noble district and prostitute virginity for 6-7 Large Copper
  • Herb Delivery to Elise for 2 Large Copper
  • Missing Caravan for 1 Large Copper
  • Cecily 1st Quest for 1 Gold
  • Elise 1st Quest for 6 Large Copper
  • Missing Daughter for 1 Gold
  • Milo’s Invite accept to kill Adam for 5 Large Copper
  • Elise Cutscene 1 (He casts Fireball on a bat; move or get blown up)
  • Elise 2nd Quest for 3 Gold (He uses a wingless bat as a onahole; Lona gets cum on her)
    • Starving Mermaid for 2 Large Copper Coins (you are already here, and it’s pretty easy to do)
  • Cecily 2nd Quest: Betray for 15 Gold
    • 10 Gold Coin for handing over info
    • Another 5 for bringing Cecily into his trap (this is much more effort than the initial 10)
  • Sell ID Papers for 1 Gold

I agree, CON is an amazing trait with loads of other benefits, I was simply saying that the cost of Nymphomaniac is a single trait point, same with Tough, but if Sex Skill to Juicing is the same as ATK is to melee then Nymphomaniac is 4 times as potent as Tough for the same price, hence unbalanced.  A melee build can easily make up the difference with COM, a succubus build cannot.

I found Musket useful for taking out many weak enemies, like rats, or skeletons, where you can outrun them, and the only reason I mention it is because every other AOE weapon you listed either requires Mana Control or Weapons Expert, which was the original problem.  Perhaps I haven't played as much at world level 100 to notice the DEF/SUR issue.

I know about the mutated mushroom, but I can get hundreds of orc semen infinitely faster and with less danger than I can gather Mutated Mushrooms.  This could be another wiki not being correct problem, but according to the wiki only orc and abomination semen add seedbed, with orkind being a 2% rate.  Perhaps I'll have to try consuming Unknown again to see whether I get stacks of Seedbed.

Funny that we've had the same experience with DeepOne Lona, also thanks for all the details on Bloodlust.  I love the game, so I only bring these issues up in hopes that it gets even better for everybody.

I realize the personality traits do more than pump stats, but I am simply pointing out how wildly unbalanced Nymphomaniac bonuses are compared to the other two personality traits.

Nymphomaniac gives you 25 Vagina/Anal Skill.  Every point of CON is 0.5 Sex Skill.  It would take you 50 CON to give you the equivalent 25 Sex Skill.

By comparison Tough gives you 6 ATK, and each COM is worth 0.5 ATK, so Tough is worth at least 12 trait points added to COM.

Again, this is ignoring the other affects they add, as well as the effects of enemy defenses, but my point is that choosing to forgo Nymphomaniac as opposed to Tough or Timid for melee and magic puts you at a massive disadvantage if you wanted to pickup Weapons Expert or Mana Control for a mixed build.

If I wanted a build that could use Weapons Expert and Mana Control I can easily ignore Timid and Tough traits without needing 50 trait points to make up the lost damage potential.

I understand CON is necessary because the orc butcher for the Rescue my Daughter quest is impossible to kill with juicing unless you have quite a bit of it.  I was more stating that the investment is unbalanced because of the sex skill value from Nymphomaniac being equivalent to 50 trait points in CON, making it hard to give up if you wanted to play a mixed build.  No other build has that same extreme trade-off.

Trying to understand whether Whore of Babylon is useful since you barely reach the cap of 100 sex skill if you put 100 CON and also take Nymphomaniac and Prostitute, which makes me think it only matters if you are grinding Hole Exp?  I guess it also restores some STA/HP when you land a critical sex attack, but what is a critical sex attack?  Is it the same as Overkill like from Bloody Mess?

Are you saying Sex Skill does not matter, or does it not matter specifically when you take Bloodlust?

Does COM matter more than CON if you take bloodlust, or is it just more viable for a mixed build since you'd also be using weapons?  In that case is it only COM or does equipment start to matter, like the hooded cloak, or weapons that boost ATK?

I am also unsure whether I understand juicing damage, since I see yellow and purple numbers, and I assumed yellow was stamina, but what is purple?  Does Bloodlust convert one of these to HP damage, or does it add HP damage ontop of these?

I am enjoying moot abomination for the tentacle whip, but I haven't tried the regular whip.  Since there are very few scenarios that force you into a brawl with many targets I can easily get through most content with some planning and frag mines, as well as the Musket.

I really do not understand how to make Deep One viable since it feels like every minor encounter requires transformation, but then I'm gobbling potions after.  Is there some mechanic I am missing or guide to making Deep One feel fun instead of high maintenance?

I also noticed when cleaning privates after anal sex I always get unknown semen back.  Is that a bug, or working as intended?  I have been avoiding using it because I generally want to collect specific semen types to get the Seedbed state.

I get that my post was long, so I'll try to summarize:

Nymphomaniac = 50 CON

Tough = 12 COM

Timid = 10 WIZ

Where am I going to get 50 trait points so I can experiment with a mixed build using weapons expert or mana control?  Unbalanced in regards to Nymphomaniac being too powerful to ignore, as compared to melee or magic builds that can afford to skip their personality traits.

Whore of Babylon raises the sex skill cap from 100 to 150, but you'd need to sink 100 traits into CON just to get 50 sex skill, meaning even with all the traits combined you'd barely reach 100, so it seems like Whore of Babylon is _only_ useful if you intend to grind hole exp.

At 48000 per hole, 480 = 1 sex skill, why if inheriting memories is it not reflected in sex stats after rebirth?

I actually share concerns about the succubus build because while it is very strong it seems to be unbalanced and the formula doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.  I know the wiki is not a source of truth, but it lists the damage formula as `(CON / 2) + (Hole Exp * 2)`.

Neither melee nor magic builds are dependent on their respective personality traits.  If we are just talking about damage dealt then Tough is barely 12 COM, and Timid is a meager 10 WIZ, as compared to Nymphomaniac which is the equivalent of 50 CON.  This makes mixed succubus builds much less viable until a higher level.

Another mystery is that Whore of Babylon does not raise the sex attack but rather the cap on sex attack, specifically from 100 to 150.  However unless my math is wrong even if you dump 100 CON **and** take both Nymphomaniac and Prostitue you only end up with 100 sex attack.

For clarification, is that 48,000 experiences per hole, or is that total?  Because this is where things get confusing to me, as I have a save with 40 CON, Nymphomaniac, Prostitute, 997 Vagina Sex, 34 Anal Sex, a Micro Vagina (not sure how), a Tight anus, and somehow I have 105 vagina skill and 79 Anal Skill.  By the maths I should have a baseline of 70 (25+25+20) prior to the application of hole exp, and I know the hole size matters but I'm not sure what is the baseline.  I guess Whore of Babylon supposedly also changes to formula to `Hole Exp * 3`, but I'm not sure from the wiki description how that actually works since it's clearly not `(40/2)+(997*3)`.

If I assume that 48000 number to be per-hole, then I should have at lease a baseline of `1 vagina skill` for every 480 vagina sex, but when I rebirth the default computed value shows 0 vagina skill, and even after unlocking Nymphomaniac/Protitute/Succubus only reflects the initial traits, making me wonder if inheriting memories is working or not.

Also, Bloodlust says sex attacks now deal hp damage, but I'm not sure if that's always beneficial.  Since the wiki claims sex attacks supposedly ignore defenses, does bloodlust change that in any way?  Does this also mean if it takes more than one juicing and they recover will they become aggressive as if I had hit them instead of continuing to use grab attacks?

I don't mind a grind, but the confusion about how the formula actually works, and extreme investment tradeoff for Nymphomaniac as compared to melee or magic builds prevents you from experimenting with a hybrid build until much higher in level, makes me wonder if that could be reworked in any way.

Was able to patch it by adding a trailing parenthesis to the line in `LonaRPG/Data/Batch/belly_punch_control.rb`.

I got stuck in the youtube rabbit hole where a video of the gameplay surfaced in my feed, and it was interesting enough for me to look it up, but I had no idea it was an adult game from the video.

I have played plenty of adult games, so that didn’t scare me off.  In fact, I think the leading reason I enjoyed the game so much is specifically because it was an adult game, but not because of the adult content.  There are very few detailed guides or videos about the mechanics that you can easily find, which means a lot of the gameplay will be all about you discovering and feeling out the mechanics personally, and I find that to be thrilling.

A bit apples to oranges, but what got me hooked on LonaRPG is the similar feeling I get from playing monster hunter.  Every single weapon in monster hunter feels like playing a different game.  Not only did this game give me that similar feeling, but it did so with barely any equipment.  It’s not like you have 50 different armor sets where each peice can be heavily customized for every style of gameplay.  With just a trait system and a very small pool of equipment, many of which are not readily accessible at the start, you get a similar feeling of freedom in gameplay.

The greatest barrier for me was the controls and learning many mechanics.  Once things fell into place the game just clicked and I felt like I was discovering something new everytime I launched the game.  Whether it was a quest, unknown feature or service, new equipment, unseen creature behavior, or a different way to use existing tools.  As an example, I explored most of the world on foot before figuring out there was a fast travel system.  I had beaten the game and NG+ a few times before I found out about rental horses, which act as limitless temporary mobile storage units, and make it significantly more efficient to farm drops in monster caves without the need to return to town.

Even now after over 100 hours and 20+ clears I still don't feel entirely comfortable wielding magic.  The Ex hotbar, the gear swapping, the many different ways to leverage status effects, stealth with varying degrees of efficacy tied to trait/SCU placement and the enemy you are dealing with, the impact of various pairings of traits, even the use of sex as a tool for combat and pregnancy for NG+ both of which are more than surface level actions, survival and resource management components, and some quirky mechanics and characters gives players a completely unique experience.  It is incredibly varied despite being fairly compact.

The developer has access to an untapped creative space, because they can tell stories that cover topics that would be too dark or gritty for non-adult games, and they’ve embraced that.  While I wouldn’t say any of the stories are outstanding, and in plenty of ways they are disjointed, but it doesn’t stop you from wanting to see how they can play out, especially since many of them have branching possibilities.

It’s not perfect of course, and I would certainly love to see more activities, characters, groups or organizations, quests, and explorable land, and it feels like that has been the general direction of the game every update.  So I will continue returning to try out each update.  I also recognize the challenge that additional equipment poses to redraw a lot of art for existing events, and I’m not convinced that adding more equipment would be nearly as fun or balanced.


Edit* I should also add that I am a linux gamer, and the developers explicitly supporting linux really tickles my fancy.  It's not exactly related to the game, but it's absolutely one more reason I would support their efforts.

It appears to be -2 WIS and +0.05 Speed.

Looking at this wiki, it mentions

After escaping, the next time Lona enters any location, she will be surrounded by flesh, you need to have enough stamina to escape, otherwise you will be returned to slavery again.

That might explain your encounter if it was the first since you had escaped them?
