Thanks!
Unfortunately this was just a school project made in two weeks, and we already have another project coming up. I don't think we'll be coming back to this game, but I appreciate you playing it!
Trying to force it on the GPU with the NVIDIA panel or the Windows settings did nothing, it was still running on integrated graphics.
Disabling the Iris Xe driver made the laptop switch to "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". When I re-enabled the Iris driver after downloading updates for both drivers, GameTranslate properly switched to the GPU. No idea if the issue was the drivers or Windows not switching the app to GPU correctly.
I managed to fix the issue. Not sure what exactly fixed it so here are some of the things I did :
- Using NVIDIA control panel to force the app to run of the GPU didn't work
- Using Windows Graphic Settings didn't work either
- I updated both the Intel Iris Xe and the NVIDIA GPU drivers
- I updated Windows
- I disabled the Intel Iris Xe driver in the Device Manager, then enabled it again
After that last step it started working correctly.
Small issue about the sequence of the story events
It is possible to advance Emma & Felicity's story quite a bit without doing Ashley's quest to search for Ren.
As such, there's a weird break in continuity where you can get the Stoneface reveal before any of the buildup through Ashley's story, and before his name is even mentioned in the story.
I was very confused by Felicity and Emma's story because of this, and only understood what when wrong when I finally got around to advance Ashley's quests and learned about Stoneface properly.
A little rough around the edge. The theme is respected, but that doesn't make it a fun game, since all you're doing is repeating the same two levels but with more enemies each time. The enemies also have a tendency to swarm you when you change levels.
The game is built well and the art is good, but it's just not a lot of fun to play.
Thank you for the kind words!
To answer your question, you need to hold down left click to start spinning around your weapon, and releasing left click with the right timing to go where you want.
Winding down helps with that, since the faster you spin, the harder it is to choose the direction you'll be going in.
