Thanks for the kind words !

Being able to change the terrain was something I made for me initially, to help for designing the level(s), but since I couldn't finish I left it for players since the game has so little content.

So I never made it for players, but it ended up that way I guess.

I'm not a math guy but I had fun (could not finish it this time but I'll probably get back to it soon !)

I love the UI and the atmosphere is very palpable despite the low resolution and relatively short looping background music. Doesn't feel like i'm doing homework :D

The spell was supposed to reveal fireflies and you would have to remember their position to catch them,
However I didn't have enough time, so you can just catch them as is ...
I still kept the spell because it looked cool lol.

Congratsssss !!!

This was fun and I'm a sucker for retro style games like this :D

The music and sound effects are perfect!

I hope you pass your exams !!

As said on the page, it uses the dev version of the framework. You'll need to pip upgrade with the --pre flag

Yes I need to update a lib and publish it..

Thanks for playing ! Yes the game is very rushed but most of the time went in background stuff (I'm working on the framework behind it, so I wasn't very efficient ^^" )

I appreciate your thoughts on the music, I like it too (although a bit too short) .

I'd love to collab with people but I want to get this framework of mine up and running before then x)

Thanks for the feedback ! I'll take notes of everyone's comments for next time :D

the game is made with pygame. I used pyinstaller to build a single exécutable. The full command is a bit long but it's the 'onefile' option that makes it into a single file

What did I just play.

Anyway this was actually a lot of fun. Not enough bloom, but a whole lot of shrooming going on!

I really liked how if you lose in the fight, you respawn at the very beginning before skipping abruptly to the fighting part.

The kick animation was meh. Got a chuckle from me at least

I really enjoyed this, even though I'm not a puzzle guy.. It did get gradually challenging but not enough to be frustrating. Great levels and nice vibes overall :D

Yeah, I greatly misused my time.. After a few tests once the submissions were over, I noticed the same issues. Hopefully next time I'll learn from this. Thanks for the feedback !

It's fixed now :D just update the pip module. However I warn you : the game is seriously underwhelming

Thanks a lot for your kind words ! I really had a blast making this one, even if there's no real gameplay at this stage. Unfortunately for Anatidae I didn't end up having enough time (school stuff) so it will most likely end up being underwhelming...

Regardless, I thank you for your support 👍

I'm currently moving so it'll be fixed in a few hours, at least I hope. I'll notify on discord 👍

I know the feeling .. T-T

I'M HONING MY PLATFORMING SKILLS

This is not really my type of game, but it was plenty of fun :D I love the artwork, the interface, the sound effects and all the feedback you get (moving the boat feels awesome, and the effects when battling are very cool) I definitely didn't expect a game like this, but it was a welcome surprise !

I like the feel of the water, and the physics simulation is fun too, although a bit limited. I wish we had control over line width or color, but I'm being nit-picky. Overall very fun to play around with :)

I like the movement underwater, feels like a racing game but perhaps a tad too slow to accelerate. The one thing that bothered me was the lack of danger from the enemies.. I can kill them but if I don't there isn't really anything to risk.

Really loved the art and that title screen effect! Animations are super nice too. Wish there was some background music but maybe that's just me. I was a bit surprised to see people drown so fast but it made a great challenge, the difficulty is well calibrated I think ! Overall nice game :)

I liked it more as I kept playing. The theme and challenge requirement are well met, but I wish it had at least some music and/or sound effects. The gameloop is fun and I didn't expect getting stat upgrades. Overall just a bit more work on the polish would make a big difference :)

Thanks a lot for playing :D Yeah it's polish at the expense of actual content.. gotta work on priorities next time haha.

I was also working on the underlying framework (batFramework) while developing the game, so that took a lot of time too. v0.2 is already better and fixes some bugs, but don't forget to rate the game according to v0.1 so it's fair for everyone :)

Yeah I wish I did more too... Still gonna be working on it post-jam though :)

Also the music is entirely made with beepbox.co, an online music editing interface.

The water was supposed to be a big part of the story but couldn't get finished in time. Instead you can enjoy the bubbles in the background ( yes they are bubbles I tried my best) and the the small part of the game is the second character you play which is smaller + the small game and asset resolution. Until the next update, you can respawn using the 0 key on your keyboard :)
