I liked it more as I kept playing. The theme and challenge requirement are well met, but I wish it had at least some music and/or sound effects. The gameloop is fun and I didn't expect getting stat upgrades. Overall just a bit more work on the polish would make a big difference :)
The idea is different from other games, and I feel this could be made into a better and well-polished games, but so far, this game does work well as a good prototype for that. But the graphics are very simple and sounds are not implemented. But due to the asset requirements enforced by this jam, it is good enough for a solo dev. Overall, the game was fun, and felt like a retro-arcade game. I like such games, and maybe if possible, you could develop this into a complete game in the future. I can also help if needed :) Good work!
Hi! I played your game on stream on the Pygame Community Youtube channel. If you weren't in the stream, and wanted to check out my playthrough and opinions, there are timestamps in the description. Apologies for any audio cutting issues.
thank you for playing and thank you for the feedback, i really should have said somewhere that the bar at the bottom is your shot accuracy
I wish the artillery was more accurate against the enemies and maybe a popup on the treasure for what button to press would be nice as well.
thank you, i didnt have time for a lot of the stuff i wanted to do, i only joined when the jam was halfway over. i will change a few things after the jam. the grey bar at the bottom indicates how accurate you are, the longer you wait, the more accurate you are (with a bit of cheating in the players favour)
Hi, I tried to run the source code, but there seems to be a TypeError somewhere in the code (could surely be on my end though). Also, you should remove the .git/ folder, as its size is over 50 megabytes and it is not needed in the jam entry.
oh yeah i forgot about the git folder, and maybe i shouold have made a requirements folder, its propably because i dont use pygame-ce
I liked the idea behind this game. The graphics are simple but this is not a problem because everything is coherent. However, I recommend using sounds for your next games as they create a better general experience. If you don't like using external files, you can use the pygame sndarray module. It will allow you to create your own sounds from a regular numpy array! Great game, had a lot of fun
thank you for your feedback, I usually waste a lot of time with sounds and music but my laptop doesn't have working speakers so the last couple of projects did t have that issue, but I know how important game music is, I just don't want to focus on it while I don't even have something that can be called a game
im sorry, i stopped at 00:00 i promise
