Love the mechanic like that one gmod mod
I can't imagine how hard and annoying it was to implement 3D collisions. Just wondering, is the submarine that the player control a sphere, a cube or a point? Or neither of those? Anyway, its one of the most original way to interpret the waterworld theme. No need for music to create this oppressive ambiance. The only thing I would change was the controls, as the lack of up/down keys was a bit disturbing for a 3d game. Well played guys
Yeah 3D collisions was a huggeeee pain to program and optimise. The player is a cube I believe, though all the collisions boil down to triangle-triangle intersections so theoretically could have been anything. Good idea regarding the up/down keys, I should have thought of that.
Wow, this is amazing. The UI has that metallic feeling, and there are decisions to turn off things to save up battery in exchange for losing visibility👏 It's a nice concept to use rays to get a sense of the 3D map, and there are 3 ways to do it. And despite there being so many rays, the game handled it well! The controls were pretty good, I enjoyed playing. By the way, good job on making the 3d triangle collision👀 . I think I would additionally add a spacial audio thing for underwater mines using pygame.mixer.Channel.set_location(), don't know what other feedback to give. Good job!
