The writing was beautiful and felt very authentic to the layers of emotions between a strained familial bond. I think I was particularly affected by the characters expressing some degree of resentment in between the times that they were supposed to care and support each other.
Being the bearer of a curse because you love someone and yet still feeling abandoned despite the sacrifices you've made so that the other can live a more comfortable life (at the risk of estranging the close bond you once shared) is so saddening, but it's valid for both sides to feel frustrated and upset. In that sense, I think Maya resonates a lot with me.
The watercolor-esque visuals were eye candy and the soundtrack was also a dream!
I was part of a jam that originally started much earlier, but due to some people leaving, we all kind of waited until more people showed up. During that time I didn't work on anything because I was still trying to come up with brainstorming ideas for a comic. I was able to brainstorm something that I realized would fit better as a VN, and was wondering if it was ok to submit it to this jam and the other one, if it's allowed in both jams.
Hey! I think you can first create a project page from your dashboard, then if you go back to this jam's page, next to the deadline countdown, there should be a link to click once the submission period opens. Then, it will show a pop-up where you can select which project you want to use as a submission for this jam! That's the broad picture, let me know if you need any help!
Does this mean if you make cards for the game that depict things such as a frog, lemon, and wheelbarrow, those don't count towards the 12 word limit if it does not contain words on them? Or are the three hypothetical examples interpreted as picture symbols such that they each count as 1? I might be overthinking this, I was reading the rules over again but wanted to ask just to be sure
1) I'm cool with doing something with horror aspects, though if there is anyone who didn't feel comfortable, any non-horror is fine by me!
2) I am working alone for this jam, as my current situation makes my available time rather sporadic (though I hope sometime in the future I'll get a chance to collaborate with people, it's always fun to work in a team)
