Strawberry Samurai by Ryan Arata (itch.io)

Strawberry Samurai is a samurai-themed action platformer with a fruity twist. Slash oranges, blueberries, and more in a world filled with bloody combat, sentient fruit, and an obnoxious amount of fruit puns. I'd love to hear your feedback!

The colors!!!

There wasn't much sleep involved haha, thank you for the kind words!

I really like idle games and this one is no different... this game is absurdly addicting! My corporation is unmatched. Really great, solid job all around! I think if you added some clean UI and some more game feel stuff this could be a legit game! Great job.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing!

I like the overall gameplay of your game quite a bit! But boy, is it HARD. I feel like hitboxes could be a bit smaller in general. Otherwise, the movement and music is really really great. Awesome job.

This is a fun little game, especially for a first time project... very impressive! I like the sound effects and stomping on the heads of foes (something our games share). Keep polishing and happy game making!

Good work on the shooting mechanics as well as the art. The game looks and feels really nice! The movement was tough but certainly got easier, although I didn't feel super incentivized to move from the starting platform. Even so, there's some good work here!

Thanks for the feedback! 2D art is something I really enjoy doing but I wouldn't consider myself a 2D artist. Just something I dabble in!

Really short but honestly perfect for a gamejam. You were able to display fluid gameplay, an impressive mechanic, and wonderful music in each level. Really nice, and I'd love to see a longer version in the future.

This game is, as the name suggests, frustrating. Even so, it's quite fun! I like how such simple mechanics can make a game so difficult lol. Art is pleasing, gameplay is smooth... overall really nice!

Aside from the fact that I kinda suck, this is so well done. The art is really fantastic as is the card based gameplay. The fact that this is pygame game makes this all the more impressive. Stellar job man.

This is incredibly well done for a game jam. Fantastic job with the gameplay loop, seriously great stuff!

This game is very well done! I love the idea and how it adheres to the theme of the jam. Mechanically, it's very simple yet it makes you think, which is perfect for a game jam. Also, I really like the art style! Really nice job.

This is a cool little game with an interesting mechanic, which is really great for a game jam. The chill music was absolutely perfect. I do think some UI would benefit your game, as well as some more varied colors or art. Overall though, a nice job. The animation of your main character was very impressive!

This is a very cute little game with a nice art style and solid mechanics. The sound effects really fit the game well. Hope to see something longer from you in the future!

The game feels really good to play, so great job with the game feel part of this game jam! You really hit that out of the park. I'm not totally sure what my objective is though, which makes me really wanting more. I think a tutorial would really benefit your game!

Not a whole lot to do but very cute nonetheless. Great job on your first game, this is a really good start!

Slightly confused but also laughing. Good job lol

Just wanted to take  a moment to gush about the particle effect text, because man, that was really cool looking! I'll have to learn how to do that in the future... Great job!

This is a really well made game, and equally as creative! It really fits the theme in an original way. I especially like how simple the idea is, but how different you make each level. Great job!

This game is really really pretty. Obvious care was put into the environment, music, and sound effects. Really great job with all of the effects and atmosphere! I do think the mouse sensitivity is a bit much, but it was a very small gripe with an otherwise beautiful little game.

Thanks for all the lovely feedback!

The art is really easy on the eyes, great job! The puzzle mechanics and gameplay loop are also very impressive, especially for such a short period of time. Nice!

This is a genuinely a really neat idea! I do think the gameplay could be fleshed out a bit more, but the creativity and adherence to the theme creates a really intriguing experience! Very nice!

This is probably my favorite game so far. The gameplay is tight, the mechanics are really satisfying, and I really like how you tied it into the "broken" theme. The minimalist art style works really nice, and the side story is intriguing. Really, really great job with "Dead Broke".

This game is extremely creative! I love the background and glitching effects. I thought that the dash was a bit too difficult, but besides that I really enjoyed "Unfinished Game's" difficulty. Great job!

Nice! This is very impressive for being made in four days. The music, sound effects, and colors are all really engaging. For constructive criticism, I think your game would really benefit from more "game feel" elements, like screen shake. Overall, great job!

The art and game idea are both really creative! I especially liked the way you interpreted the theme; The background buildings are really beautiful. For criticism, I thought the spikes were sometimes hard to see and react too. Besides that, I also think more types of obstacles would benefit your game. Overall though, a really nice little experience!

Nice game! I like your interpretation of the theme. Very solid gameplay, and didn't run into any bugs. The controls felt a tad slow, but I actually think it fit the game and made it reasonably more challenging. Overall good job!

I really appreciate your kind words! Thank you for playing!

Thank you for playing, and for your great feedback!

Thanks for playing! Your game was great as well!

Your game was very sweet. I especially loved the art! Oh, and that last line really hit me in the feels, fantastic job!

Well done! I'm impressed by how many different options were available. That's a lot of writing!

Thank you for all of the kind feedback!
