This was a really cool concept - I love the idea! I've not seen anything like this before & would love to see it fleshed out, especially with some sound! :)

Switching between patches was kinda funny. At my first playtrough the fire guy doesn't attacked me (maybe I missed some trigger). And I couldn't achive to get a patch after patch 3 (Get rosted in my second playtrough).
Nice work! It was a good take on the theme, and I liked the mechanic of changing patches too. Some sound would've been good too, and the world was a bit too big, but it was still a unique game! Good job!
I cheated and looked at the comments, I hadn't thought about switching patches as a mechanism for getting through the game. That's really funny, a real creative twist!

Hmmm, sword should've been working in the invisible mode too, I just ensured: https://imgur.com/a/UQOfukW. Was you able to swing with it but it didn't kill the boss or you couldn't swing at all?
This is a genuinely a really neat idea! I do think the gameplay could be fleshed out a bit more, but the creativity and adherence to the theme creates a really intriguing experience! Very nice!
