Just a heads up, I played on a Mac and it works just fine ;) Really fun game, lacks a bit of audio feedback on victory and death, otherwise, great job!

(there is a small bug, where if you die with the lights on, the level restart with the lights still on)

Game is not for Linux or Mac, but zip file is tagged with all 3 Operating Systems

Thank you for the roast! :D

Thank you for playing!
The zeppelin was going to be the "level boss" but we added it earlier so that people would see it before closing the game.

Thank you for playing the game and for your feedback!
We were going to implement an upgrade system to improve the speed and width of the light, plus the damage and fire rate of the AA gun. Didn't had the time though =/

Thank you for playing our game!
Do you think that if the camera would recenter in the box after 1/2 seconds of loosing it, it would help?

Again, thank you for playing and replaying!
As future work, we're going to implement a camera recenter (only camera movement, not the world) after 1/2 seconds of not clicking the screen. Do you think that would help?

Thank you for playing. The physics really need some smoothing to prevent little mouse twitches to catapult the box across the map. Good feedback!

Thank you for the feedback. Even after some hours into it, I struggle a bit.

Thank you for the feedback, the physics really need some improvement in the future.

That really can be one way to play it :P The controls definitively need some dampening/smoothing.
Thank you for the feedback.

OMG thank you for enjoying it so much! We were really going for a non-deterministic gameplay where, unlike Mario, you can't be sure if you're going to make that jump, until you've played the game for some time.

That is also the reason why there is no Game Over, the gameplay is challenging enough :D
What would you suggest we add/improve in future work?

(1 edit)

Thank you for the suggestion. We have it in the backlog to recenter the camera after 1/2 seconds of not clicking the screen, do you think that would help?

Thank you for playing. The game really is challenging borderline frustrating to play. The physics are actually sort of too "real". If, for example, you pull a towel from under a small box, it will be flung backwards. But it really isn't very intuitive when you play it for the first time.

Thank you! Our initial idea was to use a character with his arms crossed like he was refusing to play, do you think that would be more fitting?

Thank you and sorry for that experience =/ the game really is physics heavy and it gets funky some times.

Thank you for playing. Our idea was that it would be a platform without an active character, we were even going to use a character with his arms crossed like he was refusing to play, so you would move the world around him.

Thank you for the tip! We have it in our future work to recenter the box after 1/2 seconds of not clicking the world. It would help tons when it flies out the screen.

Looks a lot more appealing ;) hope you draw more people to your awesome game.

If you still wish to give it a try, here is the non-laggy version of the game: https://andreferreirav2.github.io/character_needed/
Sorry for the trouble =/

Thank you for the feedback!
The level was closed off on purpose until you get the hang of it.

Raycast collisions would really lower the load on the physics engine. Thank for playing the game and for the suggestion ;)

xD That's precisely the point! Good to know it worked :P
Thank you for playing

Nice work! Cool art and animations.

Great game, very enjoyable.

I think the instructions are blinking way to fast so it's hard to read them.

I would suggest changing the colors to RGB only, mapped to 1-2-3, OR use a single key to cycle the colors.

Absolutely loved it!

The graphics, animations, controls, THE PLOT!

I wanna know what happens next to the kid! :D

(maybe change the display picture, I think you'll get more plays/comments)

Absolutely loved it.
Very intelligent merge of concepts.
Very entertaining.

Cool mix of concepts.
Right now the bullets are a bit too powerful and fast, which gets a little frustrating.
Loved the portals ;)

Cool twist on a classic.
I love the 2-player, played it with my wife and it was really fun.

Thank you!
The game really is abusing the Physics engine =/ try reducing resolution/quality in the Windows/Mac versions

Thank you for your review, It's amazing you liked it!
We had plans to implement a sort of kamikaze that would do a dive towards the light, but didn't had the time =/

(I have tons of fun looking at the highscore too)

No idea then  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(1 edit)

It really is xD We've taken note your suggestion for future improvement, thank you

Thank for your feedback, it helps if you lower the resolution/quality to reduce lag.

Thank you for playing!
Here is a hint: Click&Drag the platforms, find the 4 keys, exit through the door!
;)

Glad you enjoyed it.

Yes, there is one plane in particular that manages to stay in the belly of the zeppelin almost the whole time. It always gets me too ;)
