Tough game! Pretty weird challenging controls but I managed to get used to the strategy behind it and the first three levels was pretty fun! I couldn't quite understand the purity meter and the boss battle was really tough since you had to use the dash attack which was quite uncomfortable to use. Overall nice art and design, great first entry! Good Job!

Thanks for the feedback!

Great touch with the little onboarding at first. Besides the controls that some people mentioned, I would to see a faster movement and shooting, and each card awarding more than 1 bullet, to allow some spamming. I was playing it like a sniper

That was fun! movement controls caught me off guard at first since I expected WASD/arrow keys to work, but after figuring it out, it was fun!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, I keep getting that the movement is a little weird, which I understand but I didn’t realize in the beginning. Thanks for the feedback. Glad you liked it!

Fun little game! Although I would have liked to have the gamespeed increase a little bit

Nice top down shooter, i really like the music ! what i would recommend is to change the controls to 4 keys instead of two, because it was hard to navigate especially playing from a laptop

I like the game and art but shooting at enemies was a little hard because you can only walk to the same place your aiming.

It's a cool concept, and I enjoyed most of it. I do find the movement to be a bit weird and sluggish (for me) though, and I think the graphics could be improved, but it is a jam game after all :)

Developer

Thanks for the comment. The movement seemed intuitive to me, until I gave the game to my brother to test and he said they were weird. I know for next time to use a more traditional movement 😅

Pretty fun, but i didnt really understand the Purity stat, I tought I would find them just scattered around the map, but i didnt find any, it ended up just killing me in the last level while i was searching the whole map for the last few enemies.

But mainly it was fun.

heres my game: https://itch.io/jam/mini-jam-69-hell/rate/854758

edit: Also the main menu artwork rocks!!!

Really fun game ...for me personally I would have like it a bit faster...U know a nice fast pace top-down...either than a great game!

controls are a bit hard especially when aiming to walk, but its cool. nice mechanic for cards as bullets/throwing cards haha its risky to dash at enemies who fire at you. maybe try to add "left/right" to dodge them, a little side step won't hurt haha

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Funnily enough, I had it so you could side step, but when I first gave the game to people to test, they said it didn't feel right. I know think this is because the camera doesn't rotate, but I digress.

Interesting shoot mechanic. Well done! but it didn't seem like the purity or charge bars were important.

Developer

Well, if your purity runs out, you lose the level. And the charge bar just tells you how much charge you have. I didn't make it very clear, but you want to complete the level as fast as possible with the most cards to get the best score. So if you want a good score, you should dash through enemies instead of shooting the cards at them :)

Submitted

I didn't notice either of the bars go down. What is "charge" for?

Developer(+1)

It’s just a visual indicate to how often you can use your “dash” attack.

Submitted(+1)

Ah! Somehow I didn't realize I had a dash attach! Thanks for clarifying!
