Hello, I did the update :)

https://1buttonwonder.itch.io/chain-walkers/devlog/1541965/post-jam-update

Hello,

Your idea to display a warning for attacking goblins is now implemented!

Thanks for your feedback!

Good news!

I'm working on updates to release after the gamejam.

Your idea of the walker knocking down trees is in the version I'll release after the gamejam.

It is called the "Mauler" and can only be installed on the initial "first" walker.

It automatically damages trees and rocks every 1 second, it takes 3 seconds to clear an object, each second the walker is stuck it'll still receive damage though, even with "Mauler" installed.

Thanks for the idea!

I'm working on updates to release after the game jam, and your "Turret" idea is already implemented in a local version, I need to tune the monsters now cause it's kinda unbalanced, thanks for the idea :)

Thanks for your feedbakc!

I know the leaderboard is a bit weird but I had no time left to make it more "correct", in theory, for getting the highest score you want to mine the diamond later on, I will change it in the future

Glad you like it,

[EDIT] Thanks for donating to the composer, I don't know him personally but I really love his soundtracks. The walker is made with inverse kinematics, it's a "formula" that calculates how a bone/arm/leg should move to reach a target point.

Thanks!

Thanks for playing my game!

I had lots of spare time and a good idea of what I wanted as a concept. as usual the scope was too big and had to leave some planned stuff out.

Glad you liked it, thanks for your comment :)

Thanks a lot, I appreciate it! :)

Thanks for your feedback!

It means a lot to me :)

It's a unique concept, it starts off easy, but becomes chaotic over time, it was well explained how to play, I like the rotation mechanic, the visuals were okay, good job!

Hello,

The game was really fun to play, the graphics ingame are good, but the intro screen was beautiful, the music and sound effects are good too, I feel like later levels become too easy to complete, maybe do a bit more balancing, I had this setup in wave 20 and it felt a bit too easy. I enjoyed the game a lot, good job!

Hello,

This is put well together, smooth and enjoying gameplay, it seems very polished, i like the settings menu, the graphics were good and the music and audio effects were nice too, good job all of you!

Hello,

I like the idea of dice rolls for attacks, but it's hard to fit it in a real time game, it kinda worked though but it felt a bit slowish, the graphics were okay, the camera seems to clip closer to the player if an object (like a wall) or enemies are between camera and player, I think it would be better to assign a semi transparent material to the wall, Good job!

Hello, thanks for playing my game!

I didn't know monsters are coming, but it kinda is similar when I looked it up.

Thanks for leaving a comment!

Thanks that means a lot, good luck! :)

Thanks for playing my game, I'm going to watch it again :)

Ah you are right, I did read the conversation, it was my fault, I might give it another try!

Hello,

This was nice to make in the assigned timeframe, I thought the whole game would be just collecting scrap, I was kinda amazed when I repaired the ship and could even fly it, it was nice to walk on the surface of the planet, I think I flew to the wrong moon however, i flew to the red rock and kinda got stuck in it, the music and sound effects where decent, good job both of you!

I immediately understood how the game worked, the characters are well made, I got stuck in puzzle 4, it's early here, maybe I need a coffee to and try again, visually it was quite good, the characters gave it some extra "charm", I didn't hear any music it seems but the sound was okay, so was the volume, good job, I enjoyed it!

Thanks for the feedback,

this means a lot to me, glad you liked it, I was very unsure about this concept while developing it, but it kinda came together :)

Thanks for playing!

I understood the game quite quickly, which is good, it keeps players interested, the gameplay is smooth and follows the theme really well, the music was good but a bit too "heavy" for me, the sound effects were well done, and I liked the neon visual style, I wasn't too good at the game, probably because i'm slow lol, very good entry to the gamejam, good job!

Hello,

It was hard to understand what I should do, I read the rules, but seemed to make the wrong guesses, sometimes I had 1 or 2 heroes being successful though, as for the graphics, I think the pixelart looked beautiful and added a lot to the game feel, really amazing, the music fits well and the sound effects were clear too although maybe a bit too loud, implementing a menu and a guide was certainly a good idea, the GUI looks good too. good job!

I didn't know what to do at first, but it became clear soon, the controls are smooth, the visuals are good enough, i like the animated curved lines around the "planets", adding gravity towards the planets was also a good idea, I wasn't too good at the game though but I enjoyed it :)  good job!

Thanks for the feedback and playing my game.

The inventory being seperate from the hotbar caused a lot of confusion, I'll keep this in mind!

Hello, thanks for trying the game,

The game's UI is updating but I made the mistake of having a hotbar and a seperate inventory, gathered resources go to the inventory cause the hotbar becomes too small. there's a small hint text how to open the inventory but it was scaled down at the end of development, the 10 logs you see in the hotbar are starting items and not removed if there are logs in your inventory, sorry for the confusion.

Hello thank for playing my game,

It was a weird project and it took a while to decide where I wanted to go with it, it has some relaxing gameplay with some tense moments, and in the end I liked that, goblins weren't added until the last day for example :)

Thanks for the feedback!

There's a small hint text which shows the controls, which unfortunately turned out too small in the end, causing confusion about the logs you get to start in your hotbar and the gathered logs which went to inventory, the idea was to give 10 logs to the player making sure they can move even with low resources around the walker, i put them on the hotbar so it would be clear, but this made the real inventory not as visible.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing!

I'm glad you think it's a bit original, I had a hard time choosing tags for this game on itch.io :D

Thanks for playing,

I tried the approach where walkers knocked down trees but it felt a bit off, it kinda made it too easy, maintining the walker chain can become very intensive, maybe I should find a way between those options :)

Hello,

Congratulations on finishing the game and getting third on the leaderboards, the inventory was unclear, but it was mostly the text that showed the controls that was too tiny, I scaled down the GUI in the last hours cause it took up 25% of bottom screen, when I started the game I worked on an inventory system but I wasn't sure how I would use it later on, and it became kinda useless, I can certainly try to find a better and more clear way to implement this.

Thanks for playing!

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback, I should have spent more time on performance issues, glad you liked it anyway :)

Hehe, yeah walker don't care about it's operator :) it can happen, thanks for your feedback!

Thanks!

Glad you likes it, the walkers move a bit random but prefers resources, it can be a bit grindy needing all the wood indeed, maybe I should lower costs, make sure the walker walks to more resources, or introduce new resources. I really like the idea of building turrets on the walker chains, I might do that!

Thanks for your feedback!

Yeah i'm using an HDR monitor, I didn't know this made such visual difference, I could turn down the bloom effect probably, thanks for mentioning it, I would not have find out otherwise.

Hello, thanks for your feedback!

You get damage if you don't stay on the walker, returning to the walker will regenerate health over time, there's a small warning for that when you start the game, but it's small and easily missed, I thought the slider for mouse sensitivity would be enough, next time i'll make it have a wider range.

This is one of the first games I rated with an actual story intro, I didn't do any story in my game either, after the cutscene I played the game and got stuck, I'm not sure if there is an option to respawn, but reloading the game also worked, the controls were a bit hard, the music and audio were good and I liked the handdrawn art, I couldn't figure out how planar shift worked, when I used it the game paused it seems, I had some chaotic fun rolling the ball though, good job both of you!

I like the switching between characters, took me a while to figure out how it's played though even with the tips, it's an interesting take on the theme and the platform/puzzle game genre, well done!

Hello,

This was a relaxing experience with good storytelling, I like the music a lot, the theme was implemented well too :) good job!

Hello,

The game looks good visually but I had a hard time controlling the spaceship, was it made to be difficult or am I just bad at it? the sound effects for the explosions were a bit loud, I tried to reach the blue landing pad but was unable too, I tried for a few minutes though, the controls were good and smooth, I just think I'm not good at it, well done!

Thanks for playing my game and the feedback.

There's still some bugs around, this was the most stable build I could release within the timeframe. If I work on it after the gamejam I will add a warning when the walker is under attack by goblins.
