I wanna say that I liked this game a lot and definitely considered this one of the top games this jam. However, all judges had their ideas what to award honorable mentions to, and it was quite a stretch to include them all.

Anyway, great game nonetheless! The core mechanics are very innovative :)

Thank you so much! Our team really appreciate that! It was a great experience and thank you for organizing this event! <3

Guys, you should have won. I don't understand what happened during the voting of the judges, but that was total bull@&!#.

Thank you for your support! I'm glad that at least your game is in runner ups, your game is really cool! As I think, that this top is really based on ecology (green edition), but in our game the main goal is to "kill" an animal, especially by toxin, sooo, who knows:)

That would be a very stupid reason if it's really like that. In my opinion, the theme was fungipunk (nothing eco/green in that) and the goal of the game jam is to make an innovative and fun game, which you did and all of the participants of the game jam agreed on that as can be seen from the votes.  (Sorry to write my frustrations here, but I feel like it wouldn't be wise to write them on the official Discord server :D Just wanted to say I am really confused/angry with the results from the judges and that I feel they betrayed you and gamedevs in general by not including your game among the honorable mentions, even though you deserved it.)

Gah, I wish I could just strangle that damn mole with my roots...

jk jk, I love it. Feels like a complete, polished game. Probably my favourite out of this jam

I absolutely enjoyed playing the game. The mechanics are fun and novel. Overall, the combination of real-time mechanics with turn-based mechanics was very interesting to me. The soundtrack fits the game nicely and can be listened to repeatedly. It's pity that, for example, root growing or some other interactions don't have their own sounds but that's more of a minor thing. As for the controls, I would appreciate it if I didn't have to go all the way up to buy an upgrade and activate it (but I don't know if that's a design intention).  I think with more development, this is a title that would do well on Steam. Oh, and I found a bug. When you click on the same place for a long time, the mole will appear even if the player hasn't put more roots.

For me, this is overall one of the best games I've played on this jam. Very cool idea. Good job!

Really cool game. It was fun figuring out that i need to build multiple paths so my roots don't get destroyed. I had a bit of trouble not knowing how to win the game - but I won at the end.

Thank you so much for your comment and playing our game! ๐Ÿ’œ Unfortunately, the tutorial part is not complete.  We tried to get this information to the trailer video, so maybe that could be more helpful to new players.

Very nice and fun game, love the idea. it seems that the game sometimes ends in game over very randomly though.

Developer

Hi,
Building roots costs 1 water per tile and if you are out of the water and have no energy or water collector there is no chance you recover from this, so instead of slowly being eaten by mole, the game ends.

oh, okey, makes sense, I was just a bit confused while ingame

I loved the idea. The mole is especially mean sometimes. It is a shame that the mushroom powers are not in UI scrolling all the way up to activate something gets annoying. Planning the root structure to avoid losing big chunks is a nice mechanic.

Thank you for your comment! Hope you enjoy our game. :D Thank you for your idea. This was kind of plan, but we couldn't make it in time :D

A neat mycelium-filled game with a mean mole. Loved the gameplay execution! Nice job!

Loved game! Really well structured balanced around the overall gameplay resource management, exploration and defense! It is really engaging and fun to play - i played for quite a long time. Given a bit more polish and maybe an extra one or two feature, i could see me playing thi a lot back in the old flash games! Great job!

Great idea for a mushroom game! Would be good to have more information about how the toxin works. The moles look great :D
