atreon keeping the money is illegal as hell, sorry for the language. They either must allow you to clean out what you need or take the risk of a law suit. 8k is a lot of money and if it gets into a law suit, and you win, they lose more. I never liked Patreon, the site is difficult to navigate, unless you have an account then everything is locked and requires card information to create an account whether it be a debit or credit card.

I'm honestly glad you got out of there, I have heard many devs getting screwed over by patreon and banned them, and more

Patreon is extremely careful to only go after small-to-medium developers who rely on their income and can't afford to fight back if it's taken from them.

They also banned me right after the start of the month pledges were processed. I'm not saying that was planned, but it's a hell of a coincidence.

I imagine if enough supporters email patreon and use their words in a civil manner... words like chargeback and class action, they might see reason and release their hold on that $8K. But I would definitely be calling lawyers. Most consults cost nothing, as well as making this as widely known as possible.

im in agreement, devs like you who rely on income only to get banned without being able to claim your income, its wrong, immoral and very illegal. Even if noone claims the money, itll be stuck unuse in limbo forever

Unfortunately it wont be in limbo. Youll see the account disappear from public eye and te money will enter some patreon employees pocket. Prob the one who started this whole thing
