SubStar's search function really sucks, and a lot of people have been confused, so I've just pinned the latest update (which is free) to the top of the SubscribeStar page :)

Same here! 😭

I would just like one day without bad news, is that too much to ask? :P

Try powering down your computer and leaving it off for a minute before turning it back on again. It sounds like something is going wrong with the startup process.

Hopefully CK will eventually be relisted on Itch, and unless it gets deleted I'll keep posting updates here no matter what! :)

If the worst does happen, though, you can find CK over on SubscribeStar (free version is available there just like Itch!)

Thanks for sticking with CK through all the troubles! I really appreciate it!

Yes, I will keep updating on both Itch and SubscribeStar for so long as the game is allowed to remain on those sites - even if I stay delisted here :)

That feature has been added to "The Big Update" and will be available in the next update :)

I'm really only allowed to accept donations through SubStar, since places like KoFi won't let me in :/

Maybe I should finally do something with my Fansly creator page...

Fortunately I'd already made a start on the website remake, so it's almost ready to go! :P

CK's up there, but it's a pirate site - creators don't get any financial support from it (although the discovery and advertising is through the roof!) so it's not an alternative to Itch.

F95 is a pirate site. It's great for players, but creators get zero money from it. Without a platform to financially support their work, adult developers will stop creating, and F95 will become a desert :/

As other comments mentioned, nobody knows yet. We've had one announcement from Itch and a saluting emoji from one of Itch's co-founders and that's it.

They have already deleted some adult games, but whether or not we're all on the chopping block is still unknown :/

We should get our own movement and get PirateSoftware to speak out against it. Did wonders for SKG! ;)

Definitely download anything you want to be sure to keep! When Itch deletes pages, all download links in your library for that page stop working.

At this point, nobody knows. The hope is that they re-list every piece of adult media (because it's not just games that were hit, it's the whole dang category) except for the much more hardcore stuff... but there's been no official word on that so we're all just sorta floundering in dark waters, here.

As soon as I have more information, I'll make a post about it. In the meantime, spread the word and the anger (in a respectful way), and hopefully Itch will take notice!

"You we're supposed to learn from the parody, not become it!"

Unfortunately, Patreon already kicked me out a couple years back (for exactly the same reason as Itch is on its purge right now) :P

I do have SubscribeStar, however, which has a history of pushing back against processor overreach, so it should be safe... for now!

Thank you for the kind words, and for all your support! It really means a lot to me :)

Thank you for the kind words!

There is an unofficial Spanish translation on the CK Discord server (link at the top of the main page) and once the game is nearly complete I will be hiring these fan translators to create official translations (which will of course be released for free) :)

Sounds like it's a firewall or security issue... Something's blocking you from accepting Discord invites. Try a different device and a different network if you can. Sorry you're having all this trouble!

CK (including the free download, exactly the same as Itch) can be found over on SubscribeStar :)

Thank you for the kind words, and the support! Both are greatly appreciated!

Sorry to hear you got caught up in the culling too! Hopefully they'll re-list all your games quickly!

You gave us Steve Irwin. We'll let this one slide ;)

It's actually the opposite - SubscribeStar has proven that they will not bow to this kind of pressure. That's why you can't use PayPal there; PayPal tried to exert pressure and SubStar told them to get lost.

(Not sure why you're using age verification as evidence of susceptibility to pressure; that's just a standard legal check that every adult site does).

It's not great as a marketplace, granted, but that could be easily fixed with a single "one time pledge" change; not too difficult if they went that route. I doubt they will, but hope springs eternal.

Hmm, weird... Try this one, hopefully it'll work!

SubscribeStar has been trying to do that for years, but have always been overshadowed by Patreon.

Hopefully they take advantage of this nonsense and market themselves properly... but they didn't when Patreon had their purge, so I dunno :P

(1 edit)

Creative freedom terrifies these people, as it holds up a mirror to the soul... and they do not like what it reveals.

Also they just really like feeling smug and superior and telling people what to do.

SubscribeStar will remain my primary platform - fortunately they have a history of telling payment processors to screw off - but thanks for the link and I'll certainly take a look! Always happy to find more homes for CK :)

Very well said, and I have quoted you in a reply below! :)

But don't you see? We need these faceless corporate behemoths to tell us what's ethically acceptable! Otherwise our weak, foolish minds might actually think we're indulging in a harmless, enjoyable outlet for our emotions!

Don't you just love it when corporations decide what's right and what's wrong? No? Me neither.

At this rate, 2077 won't be a video game, it'll be a spot-on prediction :P

Unfortunately, the culling has begun... If there's a dev or a game you like, grab it and download it FAST, just in case they're not around in an hour.

Very hard to pretend you're the triumphant, moral victors when everyone is telling you that you're an uptight collection of asshats ;)

Not sure the players are going to appreciate being called a bunch of Gollums, but if you want to start biting off Itch's fingers, I won't stop you ;)

Yeah, Steam ended up delisting around 100-200 games (compared to Itch's literal tens of thousands) and if you'd bought the game before the delisting you can still download it (Itch won't let you). Still bad, but about the best result to be hoped for.

Steam fought back. Itch capitulated immediately and started "investigating" what games to spare or remove by firing randomly into the crowd with a Gatling gun.

Fortunately, SubscribeStar remains a bastion against the payment processors.

Fingers crossed they continue to be so!

PayPal also has, and enacts, its own "moralistic" restrictions.

It's why SubscribeStar can't accept PayPal payments - becausePayPal told them to censor the site or else, and SubscribeStar told them to go fuck themselves :)

If you can remember their names, you can still find them on Itch via a Google search (not through Itch's search function, that won't work).

Provided they haven't been suspended or shut down, of course...

Because personal responsibility, enacted quietly within the private confines of their own homes, means that nobody can see them and praise their "courage".

It's not about doing the right thing. It's about making sure everyone SEES you doing the right thing and lavishes you with praise for it.

Even if what you're doing is, in fact, petty and misguided and cruel.

I agree on standard petition sites like Change.org, but to quote Phoenix96 above:

"it's not a regular petition, but rather a request to the ACLU, American Civil Liberties Union, to push the petition forward as a request through, and should it not be followed, will use any means necessary, including and especially legal actions in the courts, to force a decision and mandate, to attempt to resolve the matter.

It's not a petition in the sense that it's a bunch of signatures saying "we want ___", but rather an effort from an activist and legal group to attempt to bring about change."

Thank you so much! <3

I am indeed on SubStar!

Thank you for your support! Come on, Samurai. We have payment processors to burn.
