Hello, My Name is Selric.

Your Game Raft is very cool i played it much time. I would support you with a little donation but i can pay only with paysafecard.

It would be great if you could make this.

PS: sorry for my very bad English.

I think u could add kind of technological progression (sorry if my english is bad) like coal generators and solar generators, better furnaces, all kind of machines. Also u could add a Scuba suit to explore the deep ocean. Im so excited about your game. I hope that u make a good development :)

If the underwater idea is going to be implemented it would be cool to have items/accessories/WEAPONS that are only obtainable as secrets that you have to find underwater in certain areas. Kind of like easter eggs that have to be found but the weapons can have different rarity levels and looks. Something i wanted to throw in :)

Also, please stop begging for 'illness when outside'...we are in the middle of the ocean the only thing we have is outside.Players shouldnt get penalized for being outside when the whole game revolves around finding items and craft materials OUTSIDE (to build houses and forts that is)...

(+2)

How about a floor with a hole in it so you can build a ladder or get water for your water pourifier inside your home. I wanted to make a hole in the corner of the house so i can easy get water, but when i do there becomes a big gap with no walls or floor. It could be better if you could make just a floor with a hole in it, so you still can put walls on it and get water or even fish.

thats a really good idea and it would be very convienient

I would like to get more survival in this game. So can u do that the ITEM NETS destroys themselves after 2 days? And that is another update pls add night and some kind of a bed thX :)

How about a thatch roof. We already got tree floors and walls.

(1 edit)

Sharks Won't Attack Foundations With Walls On Them? They're Pretty Useless ATM Other Than Decoration And Stopping Coconuts From Falling Into The Water :/

More Decoration Items And An Item To Stop Sharks xP Addictive Game Though I Love It!

I think they give flooring more durability? Don't quote me on that :

nah it doesnt need more durability but to be able to see how much health the floor has until you need to repair it would be nice

You can, just hover over the foundation with the hammer while the repair option is selected. On the bottom of the screen you will see xxx/100,xxx being the health of the structure.

yeh but not the nets

I think Later on In the Game There Should Be Away were you can stop the shark, maybe not for good but away to stop it for a certain amount of time so you can focus on building up your raft and resources, i also think there should be a unlock system were you can unlock things for your raft as you go along playing the game

(+1)

Night and Day. Have a day counter. Every ten days your raft should be attacked by multiple sharks the amount of sharks should get larger every ten days. You should get cold at night so you need clothes/fire. In the day it should get too hot so you need to find shade or make a fan from palm leaves/ light clothing made from thatch.

You should add doors to the game would help in the design of constructions. Adding also new weapons (bow, sword ...) birds in the game would be very cool. Thank you very much for your attention.

YESS, DOORS

THE FUTURE

- Add barbed wire, which would take less dmg sharks. (made of metal)

- Add small islands and boat (single tree on the island and one barrel) (add too wrecks)

- Add more vegetables

- Add day, night, rain, fog

- Add metal armors

- Add background music

- Add more settings in the game

Add a way to pick up and move things instead of just breaking them

yeah I like this one

Add durability to items so you have to make new.

Also, make more thatch come in. Im always running out of rope at the start which usually kills me

Nets.

I LOVE YOUR IDEAS!!!!!

I've had time to read through some of the posts but not all, so sorry in advance if any of these have been mentioned or already planned.

  • Great start! This is an amazing idea and fun so far. Survival at sea is fascinating and challenging and there is tons of un-tapped potential in this scenario. Please make it your own and not an armor wearing/shark fighting MMO style game (unless that's what you had in mind lol.)
  • Immersion: Personally I would like to see more realism, immersion and challenge by including the following (for starters):
    1. Materials: Most metal doesn't float. Instead of floating scraps of metal, plastics are much more common to find at sea and water can be distilled in plastic containers (even boiled). Metal would be extremely rare and attached to wood or plastic. Fish bones can be used for making tools or building materials such as nails.
    2. Scarcity: I loved the traps but after an hour you have so many resources you never have to worry. Rather than tons of metal and wood planks it would be more challenging and realistic if you got a couple plastic bottles, a dead fish, some seaweed and eventually a coconut. Coconuts can be planted and the trees could become your main source of wood and fiber for base building. Barrels (crates would be more realistic) would be extremely rare.
    3. Water: You can survive several days without water. Instead of frantically boiling can after can and drinking 50 cans a day, make it about actually getting any drinkable water, and perfecting realistic water collection and storage. Also building pots/cooking stations from miraculous floating metal and starting fires from waterlogged wood as a bit off-putting. A more realistic scenario would be finding 2 plastic bottles and a trash bag and making a solar desalinator (evaporation from bottle #1 collects on trash bag, drips clean water into bottle #2.) Not only would this be more realistic, it would be more challenging and stressful since it takes all day to get a glass of water.
    4. Food: You can live for weeks without food. Food collection is too fast, catching food at sea without the right equipment is difficult and time consuming. I'd love to feel challenged just to provide a meal a day. If lost at sea, realistically you would almost starve to death before catching your first fish. After you have one you can use the guts for bait so it becomes much easier. Most fish (and many birds) can be eaten raw, which can hold you over till you can dry out some driftwood to make a fire. Managing spoilage by making fish jerky adds another dimension.
    5. Atmosphere: As anyone who has played Minecraft, Doom or 7 Days to Die knows, atmosphere can make even an average game great. I'm sure you have plans for this but even just adding quality sounds of waves, wind and creaking boards would give it that stranded and alone feel. A day/night cycle is also necessary as others have mentioned. Seasons would be interesting for heat/cold management as well as for weather. Severe weather could damage base walls or capsize poorly built boats.
  • Diving: I never dared jump into the water because, why, but there is a lot of potential in building masks and snorkels out of plastic bottles. Breathing surface air from rubber tubes (would be very rare to find) could maybe get you to the ocean floor where you could gather food, shells, sand etc. Also fending off sharks with your spear while diving makes for some great game play.
  • Boats: Depending on the direction you want to take with the game, if you want to make it more than a base building game then boats/exploration would be a lot of fun. I'm not a fan of island hopping (ala Don't Starve: Shipwrecked or Salt,) so I wouldn't want to see islands personally, because then surviving at sea just went out the door. However, boats would make resource collection much more proactive and there could be areas that contain resources not available near your raft etc.
  • End Game: Building a base at sea is a lot of fun but is pretty one dimensional. Personally I would never want to get rescued or sail home, and those types of games always end up being too short. Maybe make a backstory similar to Waterworld (the Kevin Costner movie) and people could eventually build large boats and make long and dangerous excursions to look for rarer supplies, or possibly just live on their boat and become explorers or traders.
This game has so much potential and could be amazing as a survival at sea sim, an ocean exploration adventure (Subnautica elements?) a sandbox crafting game or, preferably, all of the above!

I like this!

Good suggestions, wish I'd refreshed before posting

Agreed - Some increasing difficulty would be great, because at a certain point in the game, there is no worries at all pretty much.

Quick thanks:

Loving this game so far, well done to the team for trying to keep up with our demands - it's just cause the game is so addictive despite how early on it is!

A few suggestions: (I tried to keep them simpler to be more realistic)

1. Durability on items, and repair.

2. Chance for crabs in nets that you have to kill as they'll attack you.

3. Spear upgrade (could make a workbench for upgrades, and then pebbles to barrels to make sharpening stone) and weapon variants (like a retrievable javelin using rope that could be used at range to deter sharks for a bit).

4. Seagull/ seabirds that steal your potatoes/ food.

5. Better night/ day cycle and torches/ fire and cold damage? Means that it would make it challenging to fend off sharks at night.

6. Other survivors adrift, so when/ if you save them you have to have enough food and water to keep them alive too!

7. Beds to rest in (getting tired causes fatigue) and then when you're resting other survivors would fend off base)

8. TRAPS/ bait - to ward off sharks

9. Lobster cages.

10. Rain? Only problem then is teh lagg 😭

11. Reel in fishing line not knowing what's on it and then a fairly high possibility for a swordfish or something (just more damage sources basically

12. More woodwork, more craftables

13. Shipwrecks (to find linen, different timber that is more durable and just other shiz)

14. A floating football to draw a smiley face on 😂

15. Lightning and then water bucket?

16. A happiness factor?

17. First aid (bandages from lines, using saltwater as an antiseptic - which makes it useful again after coconuts, yay!)

These last 4 are a little more ridiculous, though some of the previous were too...

1. Islands! As you are drifting you spot them, or you could just build a boat and keep going until you find them! But make them uninhabitable at night or something (monkeys/ crabs/ whatever) and then be able to anchor raft so as not to find it gone when you leave the island :L

Islands could have hostile natives and stuff too? You could make seeds only available on islands?

2. Pirates! I won't say anymore because it might make you cry.

3. I know it's been said before, but the option to co-op with a friends or two - hosting with hamachi or something?

4. Mini games and scoreboards? That's a meh one, but the catching of shiz as it goes by was almost a game in itself 😂

Oo! Could also add plans/ books I bottles for upgrades and then an experience bar/ levels that would make more intriquate crafts available

And nets to need repairing as you use them

All of these suggestions would be lovely to have in the game. Number 6 is a little unrealistic at the stage the game is in now I think, but in the near(ish) future it would be fun to see.

Yeah, I should've put that further down the list x

Please add rain. use a rain catching system to gather water when it rains. That would be awsome.
