This is super cool! I love how there was a whole situation playing out on the left side, though... I couldn't read a single line of it, I was too focused on getting the inputs right :P

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I've always found that a little strange about rhythm games: there's so much spectacle going on in the background that player's don't have the time to enjoy.
I guess spectators get a show, and rhythm games can be a lot more social than others. I have fond memories of passing a Guitar Hero controller around with friends while growing up.
