I don't know when the developer gets around to fixing bugs, so I'll simply post severe and/or annoying bugs here as I play through the game.

So far, I only discovered one minor (potential) bug which is annoying for players that want to achieve a perfect bestiary:

- Bestiary, no. 81: Demon's "Dark Essence" drop isn't registered in the bestiary after having obtained it. At least I got its "Demon Scythe" drop despite a drop rate of supposedly 0% (probably rounded down from 0,x%).

Wow that is impressive that you got the Demon Scythe I've been trying for a long time and haven't gotten one! I think it is a 1/200 chance!

That's the one thing i've been afraid about because the program I use only allows 3 drops per enemy BUT I can add extra drops through a plugin but unfortunately the beast book doesn't register the extra drops I will see if I can fix this though thank you! :)

Thanks for the clarification. This is really good to know: If a bestiary entry still shows a "???" drop, that means I still haven't obtained one of the 3 "main drops" from the enemy in question, which is bad news for the enemy, because I need to slaughter more of its kind. Poor Demon, it probably thought its brethren were safe after unexpectedly granting me the "Demon Scythe" and letting me think the "Dark Essence" was its final drop item. ;) Edit: I just obtained a "Demonic Horn" drop from the Demon (and now its bestiary entry shows its three main drops "Mid Potion", "Demon Scythe" and "Demonic Horn"), so I assume my theory holds water.

I think you are correct that the Dark Essence would be the extra drop and the 3 items you listed are the main 3 drops that I gave the Demon! The Demonic Horns can be saved until a later continent and sold, I kind of made them as fossils because Money is kind of hard to get early on and a section on the continent that introduces fossil selling has a 35,000 coin sink in the main quest line, this is the only one I did like this I'm pretty sure.

So I looked into my database and it's actually a 1/250 drop for the Scythe! Wow that is really rare I have killed hundreds and have not seen one haha! But yes the 3 drops you listed are in fact the main 3! So that is a relief.

Wow, that is some hardcore drop rate. It's not even that good of a weapon unless there's some really annoying light-based enemy later in the game. Well, I don't play Pokemon games, but I know I will have to put in some effort if I want all the shinies. :D

It is actually just a weapon that is really good if you get lucky early game, since Zeke and Bernard can use Scythes it really helps hitting 2x per attack! I honestly thought it was a bit more common than 1/250 I might have to lower it to be honest haha. Later on in the game through the main quests you can get a better one which is one of those guaranteed drops you were talking about earlier! :)

Well, it's time to fill the thread with actual bug mentions. :(

- Could you please look into a really annoying issue? Now that I've entered Cradalios Canyon for the first time, trying to leave the bestiary more often than not freezes the game (stuck in a "now loading" loop) on every (!) map. Since I check the bestiary very often, I would greatly appreciate a quick solution. Something like this didn't even happen once before, which means (some part of/in) Cradalios Canyon is most likely the cause of this problem.

Some other issues I noticed:

- It seems paralyzed units can still (always) act.

- By repeatedly going through the Frail Forest (earliest edition), Beatrix can be recruited again and again (it's harmless, but shouldn't be possible).

- When reaching level 12, Beatrix was supposed (but failed) to learn "Thaw".

Thank you so much for posting these! I will look at them immediately, I was out for most of the day but now I am back on for a bit! :)
The Beast Book is a fairly new edition I added to the game and I'm still figuring it out myself I am really hoping that I can fix this Cradalios Canyon issue.. I will look at the other 3 issues as well!

For Paralysis, they have the status effect over their head but it only has a 30% chance to prevent the affected enemy or party member from moving per turn!

I fixed the Beatrix forest recruitment! Thanks for that one haha just a small thing I overlooked!

I see what you mean with her not learning Thaw, this is very weird.. I will figure this out don't worry I've had this happen with Lucian and Blinding Light before!  (I severely screwed up on this one and completely forgot to list Thaw under Fire Magic, therefore it hides the spell on accident, I will have this fixed by tommorow)

Thanks, it's good to know what the paralysis status does exactly and that it works as intended. Due to a lot of grinding, I've been killing enemies so fast that they don't get many opportunities (anymore) to paralyze my party members. :D

Yeah! eventually i'd like to either add the information of Status effects and skills to a web page or maybe put it in game but that would be very clunky and tedious to have inside game other then the 2 lines of information I can type per move or status effect haha!

For the Cradalios Canyon now loading screen is there a error on the screen? Or is it just stuck in a endless loading screen? I am going to search through every enemy that appears there though and check to see if anything is weird.

Unfortunately, the issue still persists even after the latest update. When trying to leave the bestiary (regardless from which discovered or undiscovered entry), no matter on which map, the screen gets stuck in an endless "Now Loading..." animation (no error message, just a loading loop). As I said, this only happens after I've entered Cradalios Canyon for the first time, but the loading loop occurs on every map, not only in Cradalios Canyon. If it helps, you can tell me your e-mail address so that I can send you my latest save file. I guess I'll use the bestiary less frequently at least for a while. :D

Good news! I found the problem through playtesting the game up to that point! If you encounter a enemy for the first time in Cradalios Canyon, THIS is the trigger, because the background is not one of the default ones that came with rpg maker mv im guessing? (VERY WEIRD) I'm going to see if I can fix this because I really enjoy the Cradalios Canyon background haha

I think I fixed it and I didn't have to scrap the background this is wonderful! I'm going to upload a new patch now after I fix a few things I forgot to do in the last changelog (update the Cauldrons)

Thanks, the issue seems to be fixed. I loaded a save file from before entering Cradalios Canyon, and after the first encounter in Cradalios Canyon, the bestiary still works as intended. Unfortunately, my latest save file still suffers from the loading loop, which means only new players won't encounter this issue. Instead of letting you fix my save file (if that was even possible), I'll sacrifice one hour of progress and resume my playthrough from the latest unaffected save file (honestly, it's my own fault  for not stopping immediately after discovering that bug). It's still better than practically not being able to use the bestiary.

I'm really sorry that happened, I hope you still have the really rare drops of the demon scythe  and the augmentation! :( I hope there's no other battleback issues, I'm going to look through the rest of the areas just to make sure so that it doesnt happen again!!

Hello! I fixed the bottom 2 issues but the Paralysis thing I think you just got majorly unlucky with :(
Also I just updated the game and added a bunch of things (more to the end game) but I did add some things to the beginning and buffed Antipoison plus added visual numbers to the HP bars! here is the changelog if you would like to read everything in detail!!

Thanks for the update. I actually obtained Rabbid Bandit's Bag of Lesser Augmentations before the update (i.e. before the improved drop rate). :) Also, I noticed that some enemies suddenly feature additional drops, so they haven't seen the last of me yet. ;)

I just encountered a less severe variant of the bestiary loading loop issue. It happens when defeating a Mimic (no. 8, Cradalios Canyon rabbit hole path) and then viewing its bestiary entry. At least I don't require an immediate fix this time. There's so much to do, you'll have this issue fixed a hundred times until I decide to bother with Mimics again. :D

Okay, I have figured out what is causing it this time! I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that If I don't have a battleback in the area you encounter something that the book will break! I am going to spend all day and fix every single area that I overlooked (I made the rabbit tunnel quickly and forgot to put the simple battleback there for the dirt caves haha)

It's a great idea that you intend to check every area. When you fight Rabbid Bandits (no. 256) or Bright Riders (no. 288) in the Rabbit Tunnels, the bestiary loading issue occurs, too, even if you've encountered these monsters elsewhere before, because the bestiary entries are "overwritten" with a different battleback, which makes me think your guess is correct. Man, I miss the days when checking the bestiaries in RPG Maker MV JRPGs simply made the game crash. ;)

Haha yeah, I'm almost done with all of the battlebacks! Even made a few custom ones on the fly to suit the areas I needed! The update should be out very soon, I apologize for the inconvenience again!

Just a few minor things this time, but I'm reporting them now, since Bernard is worrying about not being able to keep up with his teammates.

- Cradalios Cave, bottom: The second "stone tablet pathway" doesn't offer a way back. This is harmless the first time around, since the player gets teleported out after opening the treasure chest that contains the Second Heirloom Piece, but traveling through the second stone tablet again afterwards means getting permanently stuck.

- Is it intended that Bernard can't equip accessories? His accessory slot in the menu is sealed (not usable). If he should be able to equip accessories, I'd rather strengthen him sooner than later.

- Speaking of accessories, it would be great if "useless" stuff like "Ring of Agility" could be sold. I'm not interested in the Gold, I just want to get rid of this crap, since it clutters the inventory, which is even more bothersome because of the 100 items limit that applies to regular armor pieces.

- When I used the Double Wind Wave skill book on Beatrix, she didn't learn the spell, even though she should be able to utilize offensive wind spells.

- I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do something first, but right now, I can't use the six farming spots in Zeke's house (basement).

Okay, Im actually updating the game today (has to do with the final tier of anvils not working) so I will fix and answer all of these questions right now!

- This is odd as the boss should teleport you out after beating it, I should definitely block off the access to the 2nd door because its only meant to be lootable the first time for the Heirloom piece for the quest!

-Bernard is not meant to equip Accessories, I didn't really come up with a lore reason why, and this is actually why I came up with Scriptures to kind of counteract his loss of the Accessory slot (slightly) as the scriptures have pretty niche uses. I also forgot to write this in his description I'm pretty sure so I will have to add in that he can't wear them! Or maybe add them in his recruitment dialogue for future players.

- Good to know,  yeah I can add them to be sellable! I think I made item stacks to 999 but Armor and Weapons I'm pretty sure are at 100.

- Im hoping once I fix the problem with Double Wind Wave, that it should show up in her Wind Spells, I just forgot to register it under Wind Spells, so it hides it.

The furnace, 6 farming patches, and the Stone pedestal object are all buyable upgrades that you get way later, in the Elven Realm, the furnace and the farming patches are from the same side quest, and the stone pedestal unlock is just a buyable if I remember correctly!

Thanks for the explanations. I know that the Cradalios Cave issue is something that a player has to do on purpose (more or less), but it can't hurt to prevent unfortunate accidents.

Yeah, the normal items limit is 999, which I pleasantly realized very soon when farming Bronze Ore - and later when stuffing my bags with Seed Rucksacks for free. :D

I'm not always sure which party member can learn (and actually use) which skills, which is why I always make back-up saves before using Skills Books so that I won't lose/waste them. Also, it's good to know that party members can learn skills "retroactively" thanks to your help (like with Beatrix's "Thaw" skill). And concerning Bernard, I think he's just too manly and can't be bothered with wearing accessories. ;)

Since I'm still farming for drops in Rifthaven and vicinity, the Elven Realm must do without my heroic deeds for a while longer. :)

Yeah the main reason I was thinking for Bernard not wearing Accessories was because they are magical and he doesn't believe in magic or something along those lines I like your idea too he's just a gigachad!

Yeah I added portals already in case it happens again :D (theres 3 boss dungeons kind of like the Cradalios Cave that work in the same manner!)

This update should fix those pesky free Seed Rucksacks! Enjoy them for now though :D

That is really smart to make back up saves, I've had to make 100s of backup saves for RPG Maker itself because the program quite literally crashes about 5 times a day and around 2% of the time it will completely delete all of my maps, animations, or whatever random file it chooses for that day (luckily I back up a lot!)

When entering the other igloo east of the "Igloo Loot Labyrinth", I get a loading error that displays the following message:

If you find any more Light Errors can you please let me know as soon as possible? I deleted a asset I was no longer using and must have forgetten one or 2 but im going to search for them all now!

At the moment I literally typed "Bread" instead of "Loaf of Bread" in the Crafted Field Rations recipe, so I highly doubt it will work, I can update it right now but I will probably update that tommorow in the morning!

I have a hunch of what it was, I'm hoping it should be fixed I turned off a move that is used at turn 5, he was probably trying to use it on a dead enemy!

I don't remember what caused the error during my first attempt, but during my second and third attempt, the same error occurred when I killed one of the enemies (it doesn't seem to matter which one). Edit: The same result in the fourth and fifth attempt. I killed a different enemy first each time, but the game always crashed then.

I'm probably just going to stop the event from happening for now, just so that the game can be played, and if I can fix it on my end I will add it back in! I'm going to reupload the game, I hope it's not too annoying to have to redownload it everytime I apologize!

I checked and the Rivals are now out so you can freely pass through the port now! :)

Also be sure to check the Nerd at Cradalios college if you have the Types Chart, I wrote in a new book that tells way better information

I'm quite scared, the Beast Book error is apparently because I'm exceeding the number of enemies that the book will allow... I really don't know how far back it goes but I may have to completely delete the entire Beast Book idea if this persists..

I think the issue is unfortunately the Exceeding number being 570, I have hidden about 80 duplicate enemies (scaled for different areas) and its down to 497!

This fixes the issue I'm pretty sure but I tested it on a old save and it doesn't seem to change the beast book around... :(

I also upped the max levels to 500! I finally figured it out :D

Thanks, I'm looking forward to leveling up beyond level 99 (if possible on my save file).

Yeah, my bestiary still contains 566 entries. I'll probably ask you about my missing bestiary entries towards the end of my playthrough in order to check if all the missing entries are related to the cuts.

So the level will work in the same playthrough, I tested this on a fresh one!

The Bestiary, I'm afraid is going to endlessly break your game if you manage to get to the extra content area that I added after the game is technically beaten, because the last enemy im pretty sure is like 15 enemies off of where the actual last enemy is, but with hiding the duplicate enemies, this achieves the beast book to be down to a lower number, Unfortunately this does NOT carry over into a existing save, I've tried to see if theres a way to refresh the book in a existing game and I don't think anything will work :(

What I'm going to do is fix the drop tables of the duplicate enemies (duplicates for level scaled areas)

 to be pretty much identical (in terms of the main 3 that drop on the bestiary)

This is going to achieve the bestiary to have way more space for me to work on future updates, the bestiary will also be a much easier task to complete, as there won't be like 5 minotaurs, etc in the bestiary that have the exact same drops other then different levels

The only duplicates I feel like should exist are New Game + ones, just because of the actual different stats
What do you feel about this?

(In reality I have like 200 enemies but I was stupid to not think that the duplicates should be hidden)

This being said, with the future updates this extra area is my final area im building, it just really sucks that the bestiary is doing this to me right at the end.. I'm just cringing at the thought that you might have to restart, if theres any way I can even upload a quick version with a head start on some items for you because this is just really shitty and I never intended for the game to break this hard again, as I thought I was past this part of the building process.


EDIT: I'm going to take a pretty long time to figure out how I can completely rework the database, so that there is literally only 1 or 2 duplicates per enemy because I am thinking about how I can scale the areas with the limitations of RPG Maker..

I have fixed the Beast Book issue (a LOT faster then I expected) and now you should be able to complete the Beast Book wayy quicker, since there is only 1 entry per enemy! This probably will require a new save though!

Thanks, but honestly, having to start a new playthrough (because of the bestiary issue) in order to access new (end-game) content was the straw that broke the camel's back. I just wanted to let you know that I've moved on to other games for now, and maybe I'll give "Rift Walker" another try once it's in a complete state, but not anytime soon.

Alright that's unfortunate, no worries but it is a in development game, and there was no other way around it. The RPG Maker enemy database goes to 1000 but the Bestiary plugin only goes to 570 for whatever reason. I hope you do come back again some time and I hope you enjoy your other games!

Hello, when I try to learn skills in the characters, it shows the character before the selected character. Would you please look into this? Thank you!

Yes You can use Page Up and Page Dn on the keyboard in order to swap characters on the learn skills page! I still have to fix the names not being correct as they work for the attune rift materia command and not with the skills but Page up and down should work!

Looking at the documentation it seems the directions were off by 1 number, this will be fixed in the next update!

My issue was the name being off by one. Thank you for looking into it!
