When I try to run this (1.0.8) through the Itch desktop app on Windows 11, I just get an error popup saying “Cannot create subdirectory in temporary directory !”.
went all the way back they all flag for me, cant play at all which is a massive bummer. Baba is you was one of my top games of all times and i love into the breech so it seems like my jam if i could find a way to play it. Id even buy copies for freinds to support the dev
I feel like there is a bug with the team challenge. Is it supost to be "beat the level without using any of the same mechs you beat it last time with" by beating a level with various combinations of mechs, I managed to get the star after doing it with the original starting combination.
Doesn't it literally say "for some levels you may need to unlock more characters to do the team challenge" in game? But yeah, it'd be nice if the game were clearer on how the team challenge star works.
I Created the Custom Level! While Toying Levels, I Found Some "Bugs" that Softlock the game, such as "SKULL IS MEVIL IS SKULL" Which has different behavior, not replicating on Baba is You, causing an Infinite loop, putting MESSAGE_TUTO Right after TEXT Also Softlocks.
When you click "Download or claim" you are given the option to donate money. Just put the amount you want to donate into the box and hit "Pay with PayPal" or "Pay with Card". Then just follow the prompts!
Yeah this happened to me. You have to click them, then click on another mech/object to use it. I suggest searching up a playthrough if you dont know what to do after a long time.
I tried out the first level via Proton. Adding an external game to steam and forcing Proton as the compatibility tool makes this easy. So far only issue is game will not go larger than 640*360. Menus and levels all seem to work fine

You just have to move each unit to touch all of the city tiles. Click on the characters and select a space they can move to (white squares). Move both characters, then press the "PASS" button in the upper right corner. This advances to "turn 2" - You can only move each character once per turn, so when you've moved them you have to hit the PASS button to advance to turn 2. Then you can move again.
Tip for Linux : you can play it through Steam's Proton by doing Games->Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library and then browse to select Mobile Suit Baba.exe.
If you use flatpak steam, make sure to give Steam access to where the executable is located (Steam Flatpak Wiki).
However, I'm using Fedora, and the game starts in a tiny little window and the fullscreen option is broken (the content scales up but not the window).
Just a quick question, is the "MORE" word supposed to have the newly created nouns create more of themselves in the same turn? It makes A Flood (of the bony kind) end up getting into an infinite loop that can only be exited with alt+f4.

this also makes the team challenge star on level 4 impossible until you unlock more characters. Is this intentional?

Do the use-a-different-team challenges require your team be completely different to the base level team, or just somewhat different?
completely different, specifically, different than the last group you beat the level with (which I consider a strange condition)
When I click the moves on the bottom left they do nothing, can not get passed level 2 :(

more often than not, there will be multiple ways those moves can be executed, so you also have to select what you want to use it on, and/or how.

Yeah, for me turning fullscreen OFF makes the window slightly larger but still unusable.
BIY is much better w/scaling, particularly just for allowing maximization. That also is Linux native.

I made a whoopsie in one of the patches; this has been fixed in the most recent patch. Redownloading won't erase your saves.
