How does your game fit the theme?
You "dig deeper" both metaphorically and physically as you discover secrets about the library while traveling deeper into the secret basements below its main floor.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes.

Cool idea, atmospheric music and interesting story)

Neat idea, well done on the entry. The pixel art is cool, but feel that the floor tiles at the start are too busy and clash with the bookcases. Hitboxes on the librarians could be polished too but these are small nit-picks from my end

I really like the art/music and implementation is really nice! Puzzles were really simple, but I guess those are not the most important, you managed to convey the atmosphere. It was fun

If you had made it so that you click the corresponding letters on your keyboard rather than numbers for the piano segment, it would've been easier to do imo :/

For me on webgl, I couldn't flip through the pages on the books aswell.

Other than that, I still had fun playing.

Cool game, liked the theme and the overall game design. Controls felt a bit clunky though. But all in all I enjoyed playing it.

I like the artstyle and the narrative of this game! I feel like the librarian's movement felt unresponsive, which coupled with the large hitbox of the bookcases made it feel awkward to navigate the game. I do like the puzzles, but I think for the first one, giving more ways to define where the front and back of the library would greatly help as I ended up circling around the perimeter bookcases. Also, for finding the piano keys, I almost missed the black key because it blended too much with the backgrounds. You could definitely place it on something bright so that it contrasts and sticks out to the player. Keep up the good work!

The game really nailed the feeling of "diving deeper" in a mystery unraveling kind of way. The part with the piano was really good and in general the art pretty amazing! The player controls are a little tedious, but that gets overshadowed by the awesome atmosphere

I really liked the atmosphere and feeling of being in a library going to find a book for the first customer. The movement is a little slow and  I wish I could have moved faster. Nice concept overall :)

the controls are very janky, and the puzzles are very simple, i did have some fun though!

I wasn't able to figure out how to leave the first room.

I really enjoyed your game! Nice pixel art and nice music. The puzzles were maybe a bit too simple but I guess the most important thing is the atmosphere. A few minors things: when I listen for the music in the main menu, it doesn't loop so after a while, it just ends. Also for the piano, it would have been great to play the full songs after the player, because I was so slow on my keyboard that I didn't really hear them at a normal speed ah ah. And some fading between scenes could have been great. But really cool game, congrats!

Thankyou for the feedback! Very happy to hear that you enjoyed it :D
Better transitions between scenes is definitely something that we wanted to work on but unfortunately we ran out of time. And the piano, I wish I had thought of having the songs play after solving the puzzle so that the player can hear the full song without the break between pressing keys.

I've given your game a rating :)

I loved the hint system, but i think this is a bit of a stretch for the theme though... Really good art. I think that was the part i enjoyed the most! Would you mind rating mine? https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-10/rate/2236551

Good job, i love art in this game.

Also hint system is very good.

The Hint system worked really well when I got stuck. Also playing piano was lots of fun by the end of the second song  I had basically memorized the keys and it felt like playing piano. Great job on your entry!
