How does your game fit the theme?
Our game's core mechanic is reversing the direction of the cinnamon rolls rotation. The player must literally reverse 'rolls' to traverse the levels.

This was the most unique take on the theme I have seen in this jam, haha. I have half a mind to say it doesn't actually fit the theme, but it's just such a nice pun!

Very fun game, and I would have loved to play more if the character control was a bit easier. Played till 1-5.

Also, if you ever plan to develop this game further, maybe you can increase the percentage of the roll it is possible to walk on (even when the 'ground' is close to vertical). You will probably need a vertical cling/climb animation to make it believable. That will make the game a bit easier at the start, and then you can increase difficulty later on with faster rolls.

Stunning visual and great platformer, but i dont get where it fit the theme ?

The mouse is waaaay too cute !

I think they were going for roll reversal through the constant reversing of cinnamon rolls you have to do!

Fun game and cool play on words for the theme! Impressive that this was done in 48hrs. Controls are fluid and only occasionally annoying

Amazing game, not all levels I can handle but it feels so interesting to look through.

If you continue to work on this project (Really hope you would) I think you could use some mechanics from celeste like whole view of the level or visualize of cinrolls movement (Sometimes it's hard to know which way cinroll is going to go)

It looks like demo of a new great platformer, wish you the best

Really cool and great music. Loved it! It was definitely tough game but well done!

Very cute and stylistic game! I love the vibes, the mechnanics are fun but sometimes it can be annoying to die so easily and to restart the whole level instead of maybe having savepoints. Really cool take on the theme too!

Developer

Thank you for playing! And thank you for the feedback! We did get some feedback about the constant deaths, and we will be looking into implementing checkpoints once the jam is over!

I enjoyed quite a lot the game and the art style. There just one thing that I want to point out: I would suggest to add in the description that the game must be launched in fullscreen, otherwise everything is messed up. Overall it's a great game and a cool interpretation of the theme, maybe a bit difficult but that's just skill issue. Well done!

Thank you for playing! And thank you for the feedback! We didn't get time to fix the UI as we  built to WebGL at the last moment and didn't have enough time to test it out, but we will be fixing the UI scaling issue once the jam is over!

The idea is very neat! But i feel like the game suffers from the controls being kind of imprecise; it becomes really hard to balance on the rolls later on especially, and i encountered a problem at the beginning of level 1-4 where the jump height of the character was too short to jump up to the next section of the level. Otherwise, really cute idea. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! And thank you for the feedback! A lot of people were having trouble with movement and level 1-4. We could have done a better job of tutorializing both walking on the rolls, and jumping off of them, and we will be fixing these issues once the jam is over!

Very fun! great job everywhere, however my only gripe is that the camera is sometimes a little too zoomed in, as when you're too zoomed in it feels like you move insanely fast. Might be just me, as I like seeing everything at once, but overall its a great game!

Developer

Thank you for playing! And thank you for the feedback! We will be implementing a 'Zoom' mechanic which allows players to choose between zoomed in, zoomed out, or normal cameras for gameplay, and are allowed to switch between them whenever they want. We will be releasing this update as soon as the jam is over so please come back then!

Oh this is sweet! (hahah wow soo funny) No but love these literal takes on the theme and this might be the funniest one out of them! As someone who's not used to using the WASD + Left Shift control scheme it did feel a bit awkward to control however, would have loved to be able to use Right Shift as well or something, but that's honestly more a me problem, and with its clever level design and lovely art this is still an absolute gem! Great work! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! And thank you for the feedback! We will be implementing multiple forms of input as soon as the jam is over as we received a surprising amount of feedback saying the WASD and Left Shift controls were hard for some people to use.

Love this game! It is such a coincidence that your game is about reversing the roll as well lol. Great art and level. Really enjoyed it. Good luck!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I guess great minds think alike haha

Really dig the silly idea, great presentation.  Love that the characters momentum is affected by the cinnamon rolls.  Pretty tricky!

Fun platformer! I appreciate that the character’s movement is relatively simple because the game gets a ton of mileage out of the special “reversal” mechanic – anything like double jumps or wall-jumping would just distract from the main idea. The result is that the focus stays on the cinnamon roll concept, and the player gets to discover all sorts of fun little interactions – like, for example, how you can get on top of a cinnamon roll by jumping onto its side while also using the rotation of the roll to supplement your movement. In World 2 I really enjoyed how you pushed the idea to its absolute limit – now structures are attached to the cinnamon rolls and the player has control over these massive structures. Honestly having control over the level at such a macro-scale that gave a really fun sense of scope I’ve rarely seen before even in big-budget platformers, so I think you should be proud of that.

The one thing I’d love to see with this concept is to refine the physics just a bit. I feel like it would be a ton of fun if the cinnamon rolls and their attached structures could transfer their movement to the player to “slingshot” them around. In the current version, the player doesn’t really retain momentum at all after their feet leave the cinnamon roll.

Well done!

Developer

Thank you for playing! And thank you for the feedback. We are working on making the physics feel better as we had a lot of feedback saying that it wasn't right, and we will be working on these changes as soon as the jam is over!
