Hey, can you help me with the third section? How do I get in the cathedral? I think it has something to do with me selling my amulet to take it off before I got my portable menu.

That's the rigth thing to do, the order in which you do things doesn't break the route after the progress dev stops talking afaik. If you can already use the portable menu, the way i like to think about it is similar to the first part where you need to skip the trigger, before i figured out what to do, I had originally tried pausing but that did not work probably cause rpgmaker prevents it. The jump in the old game was added externally which is probably the reason it can cancel triggers.
Once you figure how to use the portable menu the question becomes which triggers may be helpful to cancel.

Like, say... the trigger that prevents me from entering the cathedral or the lower part of town.

I got into the cathedral! Now, I'm in the dev room. What do I do next?

I forgot to say you should save in the cathedral. You can't escape the devroom unless you do something before hand. I think if you interact with the tree at this point it gives you a hint about needing to go outside the normal bounds of the dev room in more cryptic words. Play around with the teleportation orb in the new cathedral, you'll realise there's a place you haven't been before in this route. This room has something special that no other room has.

The hints says"Don't stop going forward or else you'll risk obscuring your senses". Is that what you meant, or is it for something else? Plus, there's still only 5 choices in the teleportation orb.

(Also, sorry, I didn't get a notification about this comment earlier!)

Yeah the room i talk about is within those 5 options, its 1. It replaces the protagonist house

Wait, I thought that the teleporter in the "modern" section always teleports you to the house of the guy that gifts you the gold dust in the "modern" section?

Oh no... did I do something wrong by getting the gold dust beforehand?

Edit: No, I didn't. It doesn't matter.

Update: WAIT! Is it the doorway that leads to the bedroom? (It is!)

Update 2: I completed the route!

Yeah honestly i didn't remember it always teleported you there, but its still a section that was previously inaccessible is what i meant

Can I get another tip regarding portable menu? I successfully have the menu button in the top-right corner of the screen and got rid of the amulet, but nothing I try makes it do anything.

No amount of spam-clicking on the button, using it between transitions, or hitting it while a dialog makes it do anything but open the normal pause menu. I genuinely don't know of this is an actual glitch, or if the mechanism to do it is that obscure.

I tried both keyboard and mouse controls to no avail, it only opens the normal menu.

Edit: Turns out my technique was working as intended, I just was trying to use it on the wrong trigger. I successfully escaped to below the town, but didn't realize that was part of what I was supposed to do to get where I actually wanted to go.

Great! Good luck breaking the rest of the game. Keep in mind for later that if you can't save means you're stuck and need to reload.

Had a busy week, but got back to the game and beat the acker route. Really enjoyed this game!

Oh, congratulations! I'm glad you liked it! C:
