I think you nailed the concept of horror very well! You can limit information to create suspense and subvert expectations to create surprise, and this game does both. The lack of visibility means the player always feels powerless and doesn't know anything. The monster being visible gives people a false sense of security "oh it's far away" but the sudden zoom in if you get too close is unexpected and thus scary. The sounds definitely help. I like that you are forced to keep moving because you have limited time, causing stress too. Overall, you achieved what you were going for!

I've never made a horror game so its great to see that my first attempt managed to get the vibe I was going for.

Creepy game! It was really, really hard though, and it took me a minute to realize that it was an invisible maze game. I didn't end up beating it, but I got 2 of the chests before the monster got me. The visuals really helped to set the atmosphere. Great game!

Very creepy and dark which compliments the theme of the game jam well but was pretty difficult (at least for me).  For a game that was made under 72 hours it is impressive. I like the pixel art style and the monster is terrifying. I never found the end but I'm sure it is there in the dark somewhere. :D The matchstick burning and running out is a nice touch too. If you get the chance check out my submission.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. The time limit was challenging but I'm very satisfied with the end result.

Well done finishing a game! I really liked this one handling the match and staying away from the monster. Nice SFX as well!
