Hello,

The game has potential.
But like the other says we lacked the feedback when we did damage.
Maybe make the sprite blinking or change color for a brief time for example.

Anyway it is a nice game.

Have a nice day.

Developer

Hi!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I should have implemented damage boss animations/feedback.

Have a nice day you too!

Nice game! My thoughts are the same as others I have seen, is difficult to understand when do have done damage.
The hardest boss for me was the green one xd, with the projectiles one I just kept myself next to the boss and projectiles were easy to dodge

Developer

Thanks!

Yeah, you're right, it lacks damage feedback..

Anyway, glad you liked my game!

Pretty cool! I liked that the bosses got progressively more challenging so you definitely did well regarding the difficulty scaling aspect of the game. I like that you also gave feedback to the bosses when they're vulnerable (when they would bobble up and down). There was enough feedback there to be able to learn their attack patterns which also got progressively more difficult too, it wasn't too easy or too hard (red guy was easy, green guy took me the most tries, but blue guy gave me the most anxiety with his homing projectiles lol).  And I always appreciate gameplay being wrapped up in a story and the comedic tone of it too. Well done!

Developer

Thanks! Very glad you liked my game!

good concept but not knowing how much you need to hit a wizard to defeat it and you sometimes fall off the map

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

For the level collisions I used Unity's tilemap collider and composite collider 2D but It doesn't work always..

I wanted to include an healhtbar, but I was running low on time and having  issues, so I couldn't implement it.

Interesting game and good bullet patterns (I like how you can dodge them using the objects in the level!)

Some feedback I would give is:

  • I was not sure how to play after hitting the “about” button or playing for the first time, so I had to look at the itch.io page for this game to figure it out! Maybe make a tutorial in-game so people who open the game would know how to play!

  • I think W may be a bad choice for dash because I had no idea what I did to dash as I usually think W is to jump! Maybe select another key!

  • In the game it is not clear if you are doing damage, you should give the player feedback when they hurt the enemy like with sound, lowering a health bar, changing their look!

  • You should restart the game sometime after the player dies! I died and I thought I was still in the game but I had to find out that I have to press R to replay!

Developer

Thanks for the useful feedback!

Yeah, I should have made in-game  instructions / tutorial...

For the restart when the player dies... initially I was going to make a puzzle platformer, so I implemented the restart button, but then I changed my mind and choose to make a boss fights game. Having the ability to restart whenever I wanted was very usefull for testing, so i leaved it and I didn't think about an auto restart.. oops!

Glad you liked the bullet patterns!

Love the animations and movement of the player! Feels very dynamic and alive.

During the fights, it was a bit difficult to know if I was dealing damage and how much health the boss had left, though - the hit animations seemed a bit slow and delayed at times, and it took me a while to realize what the hit animation was.

Besides that, the fights were very neat - nice and varied, and they were satisfying to beat after figuring out their patterns!

Thanks very much!

Yes, I wanted to add an healthbar, but I was running low on time and also having some issues... it was my first time creating a boss.

Anyway,  I'm glad you liked my game!
