Game is very minimal. Feels more like a tech demo than an actual game.

My biggest suggestion would probably be that the player needs some sense of progression.

There is a difference between repetition and recapitulation. By giving the player and evolving challenge and some way to get actual better at the game, they have something to aim for. Without a sense of growth, most players are going to lose interest fairly quickly. This is one of the key skills in game design... how does one maintain the same core gameplay loop (whatever the game is about), while also keeping that loop fresh by introducing new elements that build on the players existing skills and challenge the player in new ways.

The game is meant to simulate actual running and the core progression is the improvement of player's speed, due to prior exercise. I am working on additional modes, which will be a slightly different experience.

My fingers hurt from the repetition!

I mean that's kinda the point, the game is meant to evoke the feeling of actually running, which is quite a repetetive action.

You can also check out my other title added to this game jam, if you would like to, the link is https://itch.io/jam/feedback-fest/rate/1487786

Pretty raw concept, but surprisingly its fun to play for short time. Very hard to play this game for a long time as you fingers get tired very soon

Thank you, that is most of the challenge! You can also check out my other submission, which can connect to this one's Windows release for additional reasons to try your skills - https://itch.io/jam/feedback-fest/rate/1487786

Cool concept, would be even better with more sound effect and music!

Developer(+1)

That's true and I already have some ideas.

If you want to, give my other game a go. It's a virtual pet game, which can connect to the Windows version of Epiplaphobia. https://itch.io/jam/feedback-fest/rate/1487786

Nice concept and a unique take on endless runner meets button smasher : ) I think some music and audio feedback would help. Great effort though!

Thanks! I will be working on that. Please check out my second title - Virtomae, it's also a part of this game jam (Virtomae - Virtual Pet Buddy - Pet Anything by Green Leaf).

Hey, great effort on the game! My thoughts:

Overall fun:

Unfortunately I didn't have that much fun on this game. Its a simple game with one mechanic, to press a button. This is fine and many enjoyable games do this, but they all make it allot more fun to press the button. For instance by giving some audio feedback, or quotes piping up, or subtly Easter eggs. This had a nice effect of pushing the draw back, but that was it. You could definitely improve the game by making it more fun to press the button.

UI:

The UI was consistent with the game, and the fonts where nice. However it was all very static and not that fun to interact with. You could make some audio or particle feedbacks, or add some bloom to give it atmosphere maybe?

Art:

The dresser was really nice, and the background that flashes up was nice, but there isn't really anything else to talk about as that was about it.

Music:

The sound effects of the dresser eating you was brilliant! However no music. Some atmospheric sounds really help out horror games.

Great effort on the game though, i did have fun trying to beat my own score. Maybe a global leader board could make this game something the would keep people coming back?

I am working on a global leaderboard for the Android version and I have also thought about incorporating some additional stuff, though I have yet to figure out a way to make it work without being distracting on mobile, where the game is the hardest.

You can also check out my other submission - Virtomae, if you would like to try it out. It's a virtual pet game and works alongside the Windows version of this one.
