Description
Dawnlight-Dusknight

An adventure of an undead cat stuck between the world of the living and the undead.

He must traverse the world of the living. But at what cost? Only to find himself dead?
Now he must traverse the world again, but this time...the world of the dead.

This is Dawnlight-Dusknight.

Composed in FL Studio 20.

Album artwork by @rivdoodlez

The first track is for a level that takes place in the world of the living. The second track is for the same place, but in the dimension of the dead.

Theme:

Two Worlds

How does it fit the theme?
The character travels through both the worlds of the living and the dead. Dawnlight and Dusknight.

Ooooh, this is pretty! The only major point of criticism I have is that the animal in the title image looks more like a very cute rabbit than a very cute cat, but I'd also be very happy to play a game about a very cute undead rabbit stuck between the worlds of the living and the undead, so I think I can be forgiving here ;)

Seriously though, this is very nicely produced and has some really nice melodies. Also, I'm always a huge fan of iv-I progressions (and cute animals), so you've already won my heart with that.

Oop, I think the soundcloud links are broken.

I love the composition in these! I really like the melody permeating Dawnlight, it's surprisingly catchy!
I think the percussion in Dusknight might be a bit quiet, but that's a pretty minor note, overall everything is really high quality! Groovy bassline, excellent orchestration, great instruments!

Jam's over and I keep coming back and listening, I really like it... it's strangely addicting...

Well done! I think that Dusknight is my favourite of the two songs. The melody has a really cool, dark vibe to it  and I really like way the drums are mixed, especially when the snare and kick come in; It adds an interesting dynamic to the percussion. I also really like the tone of the bass in both tracks.

Wonderful music. Pleasing to listening, but with tension. Good work!

Very nice subtle melodies! Great ambience and feel in both pieces. Dusk is noticeably darker but has a similar feel. This is a very neat adaptation of the two worlds  theme.

It was really impressive to listen to these tracks. It was like going back and forth between two different dimensions bearing traces of each other, but staying in the same place. Perfect!

I love the composition here, the use of two less common and contrasting scales (Mixolydian b6 and Phrygian Dominant) really seal the theme for me!

Developer(+1)

The phrygian was intentional, but I had no idea the other one was mixolydian b6 lol thanks for the info! And thank you for your kind words!

This has a really cool sound to it, I like the bass line in Dusknight. Great work!

Great work on these tracks! I like the feel of both, made me think of Hades. You have a nice ear for production. Thank you for your work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! I wasn't aware of it at the beginning, but after writing the melody I realized that Dusknight indeed sounds like Hades haha :)

I love both Dawnlight and Dusknight (such creative names too)! I think it's very well done! Definitely one of my favs :)

I found the Dusknight drum lines are a lot more dynamic and fun to listen to than Dawnlight, but I love the melodies of the Dawnlight. If I picked it up correctly, was it that your intention to accentuate the melodies for Dawnlight and the bass lines for Dawnlight? I think it's very clever!

Overall, I think they are both awesome! Great production quality and mix too!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for your kind comments! And yes, the bass was meant to be more dominant in Dusknight (I think that's what you mean), as well as the melodic contrast between the celeste in Dawnlight and the Middle-eastern guitar in Dusklight :)

Dawnlight sounds exciting and ambient and the Dusknight sounds mystical and ancient. I liked them both, they are very cool, keep up the good work.

The overall result is nice but the two songs lack contrast in my opinion.

Submitted(+2)

I think in a glance they do sound similar, employs similar chords, but I think there are clever difference between both, say the Dawnlight accentuates more of the melodies, whereas Dusknight accentuates bass lines. Both I think are well suited to a "dark" theme, as both dawn and dusk are still pretty much "dark". Just my two cents :)

I couldn't have said it better.
