Tribute

(In the style of...)

Description
I chose Bomberman World because it's part of my childhood and also one of my other favorite characters. And of course this music is very close to me personally and I always enjoy it when I play this game.

Again, I composed it in my favorite OpenMPT tracker, where I'm still learning new things and also having a lot of fun.

The style is quite dance (eg footwork, jungle, house) but it's also very atmospheric and dreamy.

With the first track (Main Menu) I was done in almost a day and a half, thanks to the fact that it is quite short, but I tried to make it a little longer and unique.

For the second track (Planet Forest), I had to study the original a little more there, even though I've known it for many years. In the end, I chose more dancing style here, a bit between "minimal" Future bass and garage House (but slower) with elements of the original song. The hardest part was finding similar tones, but in the end I managed to imitate the original track as we all know it.

So, hopefully you will like it.

WOW WOW WOW, this is soooo good :o
the sounds are amazing, the percussion is super AAAA, it has a really strong energy, AND the tracks progress in such a cool and smooth way, I love it, especially the first one.

also is incredible that you made this in a tracker and not on a DAW, I haven't experienced with them but now I kindof want to because of you and how astounding this sounds. suuuuuper amazing stuff :D

Wow, a hell of a good job on this. The sounds are all really effective and the feel is straight-up phauwnky which isn't easy to make happen! And you did this all without a DAW? I can't imagine that. Very impressive.

So damn good. I love all of the sounds you use. Definitely become a fan of your music since I started doing these jams. Consistently high quality, and you totally have a style. I have so many questions about OpenMPT too. I used to use BMS creator when I was first making music, and it was like a very basic version of this but for BM98.  I'd like to try out another DAW and this is super interesting because it's so different from FL. How do you master the track? Are you using VSTs as well? I would love to know all those details. Great stuff as always!

Greetings and thanks for your comment.

I have been using OpenMPT since 2013, when I became interested in module music in MOD, XM, S3M and IT formats.

(I've never composed music in a tracker before)

But I was practically led to this by music by composer Alexander Brandon (Jazz Jackrabbit 2 - 3D), when I accidentally opened the JLB format in OpenMPT.

In the program, JLB looked like a classic module-music and I could study how music is created in a tracker.

Later, I opened other music from the independent Amiga Demo scene or various tracks from Modland (torrent).

There is detailed documentation / manual for OpenMPT on the Internet and a few videos on YT (but they focus on only one topic, not everything)

but I understood most of that when I opened some module-track in OpenMPT itself and learned. After that I tried, for example, to insert simple "effects-type" as Portamento for individual samples, etc.

I practically don't use VST at all, except for the built-in effects from DirectX, most often Reverb and echo.

And I save the final track in Impulse Tracker (.IT), (It works perfectly in OpenMPT)

but "Mastering" or its final completion is done through the Xmplay audio player  (my idea) , where for module-music it has special surround effects + sound interpolation and here I always save the track to wav or another format.

After that, I'll slightly adjust the EQ in an Audio editor like WavePad.

That's all.

It's purely the easiest way for me. maybe it's not as compact as FL, but thanks to that it brings me back to the 90s and I just enjoy it that way.

Of course, I don't know all the OpenMPT documentation. I took a little bit of information + experience and thanks to that I create all my tracks that you have already heard.

There are two goals I am trying to do in OpenMPT:

A) Create music in Tracker that doesn't sound like it's from Tracker 😄

B) Inspired by "Native Game music" like PSF, SPC, VGM / VGZ and others, which strongly remind me of Tracker-Music, but sound incredibly good.

Damn, the Menu one is full of details. Nicely done.

Also, you can put both of them in a playlist and then link that instead of just one video. Gives easier access.

Really good tracks and sound! Reminds me a lot of old Jungle music games (in a good sense^^)

Nice work! Also it's cool to hear some Bomberman covers

These are awesome pieces! You do an excellent job of adding variation throughout each track so they move forward and do not even come close to feeling stagnant. Keep up the good work!

Someone could have told me these were from a Bomberman remaster and I would have 100% believed them, amazing work! I love the dreamy atmosphere on both tracks, and the choice of synths/beats really gave that late 90s console game vibe without sounding too lo-fi.
