Oh that's a good point! Looking back I found that there are some different ones <XD And I guess it depends on the one who makes the iceberg. I expected them to arrange by obscurity but based on what you said, maybe some of them really are by horror and suspense!

Some of those icebergs contain dozens of titles and i don't recognize any of them. Well, there is a lot for me to know about indie-games i guess:) And my biggest dream is that one day i will create something myself. I used to think that i don't have any talents, but now i see there are sooo many developers around the world and many of them are very young and do it just for fun, creating pretty good games in a matter of weeks. At first it seemed crazy to me, i thought "wow, you have to be a genius to do something like that*O*". But maybe  with modern software it's not as impossible as it looks like.

You should go for it! With engines like RPG maker it can be pretty easy to get into, and there are plenty of free resources you could use from art to music. You can start out with a small project and make it bigger from there if you find out you like it! And I would be really excited to see what you could do! What kind of games are you thinking of making? Or have you not decided yet (which is totally valid XD)?

I actually always had many ideas(but only in my head lol) that would look great in the form of manga or something like that, but it requires real talent for drawing and tons of free time( i definetely don't have those things). Though there are a lot of great games with very minimalistic design(like Undertale, Dweller's empty path, Yume nikki etc.) but with charismatic characters, unusual gameplay and intriguing story. I 'd try to learn from those. I think the best thing about game-developing is that you don't have to be the best artist, best writer or musician, but you can fuse a little bit of this and that into something good, if you really put your soul in it. I think i'm not that bad at writing and can learn to draw a little, the main problem is music - i don't know a thing about notes and all that stuff (though sometimes i can hear music in my head in that half-asleep state, but that doesn't help much^_^). But despite this i would try to make my game 100% my own, that's important. For example, i was a little disappointed when i found out that amazing soundtrack of "Hello Charlotte" was not of Etherane's authorship:(
As of what kind of game... I have a story that i already began to write couple years ago, but dropped it after writing 5-6 chapters. It's kind of surreal (mostly based on my dreams), and that's why it would fit perfectly - there are a lot of games like that!

Making original music and graphics would be a lot of extra work, but it would be so awesome and people would recognize that extra effort! Having control of it you could make every little detail complement each other! And the funny thing was I started by drawing comics and writing books but then went to games, which explains the story focus and the... minimalistic gameplay XD But I'm learning how to do it better. And I think basing it off dreams is a fantastic idea! That kind of thing really fascinates me, especially after seeing liminal space pictures and what not!

I must admit that "100% my own" is too much for now:) First i have to learn how to use RPGmaker at least. There are a lot of opinions which one is better for a total beginner. What do you think?
P.S. Minimalistic gameplay is not a bad thing in a story-based game. Fights and chasing scenes actually could make it worse. By the way that was a good idea to give a player possibility to skip the fight with "boss" in LVBTT:) That wasn't a difficult fight, but still - i am glad you consider that some players just don't want it, thank you very much:)) For example the only bad thing in completely astonishing masterpiece "Pocket mirror" are those damned chasing scenes:)

I only have experience with MV and MZ, so my opinion is biased, but I think it depends on your budget! MV goes on sale for like 75% off fairly often and MZ is so close to it it may as well just have been an update-plus MZ hasn't caught up on plugins, so MV is a solid choice. However, now the support for the future will be with MZ, so it's the technical "best" engine if you're willing to pay full price since it's the newest. Personally I started with MV and recently switched to MZ for my fourth game (which is why some of the plugins I used in the last games won't work :( But I think it's for the better in the long run. If in doubt, you could look at some online reviews that compare engine differences so you can get a better idea of which ones line up with your interests!

And thank you! I'm glad it was convenient for you to use because yeah, I didn't want the ending to be blocked off by the fight-especially with the unstable mechanics XD (Though I later found out people have much more trouble with the water part! I'll try not to have another puzzle like that in the future)

Thank you for advice, i'll give some thought to it.
About the water puzzle - it was a little hard, but still interesting, i don't think you should refrain from it in the future. But saving right before the puzzle would be nice:) Well, your games are mostly about exploring and investigating, so there should be some logical puzzles. IMHO, of course:)

Well thank you! I'm glad you still enjoyed the challenge. That gives me more confidence to experiment in the future!^^ And I wish you luck in finding an engine, but don't stress about it too much. RM horrors have been made across nearly all RM engines, so whichever one you choose will have some great games it's been made with to look up to!

I don't really stress about it, i'll just take it one step at a time:)
I already have an idea what i can use as a background for surreal scenes - these silly doodles that i drew in "Silk" long ago
