There are horror games and then there's Veinless Property. It flirts with elements of 'Sin City,' but stays its own course. While you run up and down the house, sinister elements haunt you every step of the way, until you reach a point where you feel helpless.

That's all I can say without giving away the plot.

Well done and I hope to much more from your hands in the future.

THE ARTSTYLE IS SO GOOD.
I'm almost desensitized to horror, sadly, so when I pick something, the substance is everything, and this little piece here makes me wish we'd get a full-fledged lengthy game with microcosm of stories (like World of Horror which was also inspired by Ito's works). Oddly enough this also had me think about Faith trilogy from New Blood Interactive. Though in it's own right this game is short and effective, because the concept of home invasion is always scary to me even as a preface for the events and you convey the atmospheric pressure really well! Also there's just something so undeniably stylish and personal in the palette where red, black and white are prevalent colors, more so combined with artstyle that screams inspiration by horror manga. I am happy that I found you, since it's a second gem on your page. You are insanely good, keep it up!

God this is so much at once that I don't even know how to reply?? Thank you so much for all the compliments!! I love world of horror I think it does Junji ito's style as a game perfectly! I want to make a new short horror game in a similar art style in the near future but right now I'm already working on another project! and now I also have to check out the faith trilogy it looks really interesting!

THAT WAS GREAT!  The ending was confusing but I didn't mind.  Thanks for an awesome game!

I love the art style, it really makes the creepy moments standout even more.

thank you!!

Thank you!!!

Nice gamee and enjoyable even if its a short one.

Have *not* heard my girlfriend be this freaked out in a while, haha. Nice game you guys put together!

😊👍

Really enjoyed the art style of this one! It's also pretty creepy and gets straight to the point. I played it as part of a 2 horror game video on my channel

Absolutely adore the style of this game, I play a lot of horror games and near the end this one managed to get me good! Great job!

Thank you so much for the compliment!!! I'm glad my game got you!!!

(+1)

i'm so obsessed with this game. the art style (and the colour pallette) is so cool and weirdly suits this game so well. the monster design was so creepy as well -- the uncanny valley design is the only thing that ever scares me, and you nailed it. i loved the pacing of this as well, and i am so looking forward to that fuure game you mentioned in other replies!!

Thank you so much for enjoying veinless property to such a huge amount and for the very nice comment!! I'm glad my game got to you! I might make a small horror game project in between the project I'm doing right now but I'm not guaranteeing anything

I love the art style of the game  and the game's atmosphere was well done.

My gameplay is at 00:25

Thank you!!

(+1)

Amazing artstyle. Wish the game was a bit longer though :/ . Was that a "Perfect Blue" reference in the bedroom ?  ^_^

(+1)

Thank you!! Would love to make a longer game in that style in the future! and yes that poster is a perfect blue reference, glad you noticed it!!

(+1)

Looking forward to the future game. Keep up the good work.

(+1)

Loved the cell shading, it really added the feel of dread into the ambience. Thank you for making this! 1st Game.

(+1)

Thank you!! Glad the Glass Shattering sound scared you!!!

gotta love this game, Checkout the gameplay in the video.
(+1)

The game style is absolutely awesome! I really wanna see more games in this style, I hope you'll make more!

I played this game first, it starts at 00:38.

Thank you so much!! I wanna make a game in that style or at least a similar style again in the future!

(+1)

This game is so unique. I love the look. I really hope you make a longer game like this! Great job! Your game is first and starts at 00:24

(+1)

Would love to make a longer game in that style!! Thank you so much!!

(+1)

This game is absolutely beautiful, its style really makes you feel like you're in the climax of a Junji Ito manga. And the gameplay while short, does have a way of inducing a good amount of stress. Would definitely recommend, you have nothing to lose.

(+1)

That's such high praise, thank you so much!!!

(+1)

Not a bad game with beautiful stylistics, the concept is very successful, I hope the guys will continue it.

thank you so much!! Im actually interested in continuing the game in a sequel of some sorts

(+1)

THIS GAME WAS MAD SCARY AND FUN!!
(+1)

Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it!

sub!!
(+1)

Good game!! I want to play more.

Thank you!

Played it a bit, I hope you don't take offense

(+1)

Nice job! It was fun to play and the art style is so cool. I liked the way it played up psychological horror as opposed to in-your-face jumpscares. The incorporation of Junji Ito-esque art was also really cool to see. Overall short but scary game and I look forward to more!

(+2)

Thank you!!! I will probably make a longer horror game in that style or at least a similar one after I finish my current project!!

(+1)

I like the perfect blue poster

(+1)

Great game!! I can really see where your Junji inspiration came from, the blunt ending was perfect!!

Keep making great games...maybe even with blue next time

Thank you so much for the nice words and comparison!!! I actually thought about making my next game in the same style but with the color blue!

(+1)

very nice. my eyes hurt, but love the aesthetics

Thank you!! Hope your eyes recover!

What is the game engine you used? Unity?

yup, Unity 2017.4.13 to be specific

(+1)

Are you guys going to make a full game out of this? I really enjoyed it and I'd like to play more of it.

I want to create a much longer Game in a similar look in the near future! It probably won't have the same setting or the same monster but will hopefully get the same or at least a similar vibe across!

(+1)

Neat. I'm really looking forward for you work :)

(+1)

Hey, I'm looking for a new horror game to play, but I don't do well with jumpscares- does this have any?

(1 edit)

It has only one but it's more of a sound jumpscare than a face shoving itself into the camera jumpscare. The game is more about creating an uncomfortable atmosphere.

As long as you keep the sound low enough in the options menu or in-game by pressing ESC I think you should be fine!

oh perfect, thank you!

(+1)

The game was simple and easy to get a long but my friend who played it took a while as he did not want to move around as he was scared and it felt weird being the pyschopath and the shading art style of the game was very interesting and maybe that made the game look more pointy to me.

(+1)

Game short and cool

(+1)

I know this is random but I HIT 100 SUBSCRIBERS!!!

(+1)

Congrats! I hope you keep winning!

Thx so much🙏🏾🙏🏾

(+1)

very unique game it restore my eye

(+1)

Thanks! Hope this eye of yours is doing good

(+1)

Good short horror game. The Cel Shading certainly gave it an interesting style to it. Wish it was a little longer but it's understandable since you made it for a GameJam.
(+1)

Thank you! I would love to revisit this kind of shading for a future and much longer horror game!!
