It shouldn’t take 7 days for a game to be indexed, if that’s happening then there could be something else blocking it. In any case, reaching out to support is the best way to get it sorted.

Hey Leafo,

Thank you for replying, it's working now and indexed but it's not that perfect.
Let me explain, so the game name is "Miko Adventures Puffball" so if you search for:

"miko" : the game appears
"puffball" : the game appears
"mik" : the game doesn't appear
"adventures" : the game doesn't appear

I don't know why it doesn't appear in all cases, it's a bit unstable to be honest, don't really know...
I've read that the search index in itch is not that polished so I'm not sure if that's the case, hope you know something that might help a bit while searching for the game.

The freeform search is optimized for full title matches. Otherwise a lot of games have very similar titles, and partial matches are unpredictable. Make sure you have good tags.

What do you mean by good tags? what is considered as a good tag on itch?

Never mind, yours look good.

I seem to be having this issue now too? I totally get internet propagation, but my post in Release Announcements isn't visible either. If I look at Community > General I can see that the last post was by me 56 minutes ago, but if I click into Release Announcements the actual post I made is not there at all. I reached out to support via email. I also checked from a different computer with same results.

I have deleted my post that was not visible within Release Announcements.

Sometimes the first page of a category behaves a little oddly. You didn't have to. The post was probably fine. As for your game, it's newly created, and it has a price tag, so an admin has to look at it first. If you had started another topic instead of hijacking this one, like we ask everyone to do, you'd have seen the rules of this category pointing you at the Getting Indexed on Search & Browse FAQ where all this is explained. Please wait.
