We'd love to know what you think of the game!  What you like,  what could be better, what you'd like to see added.

Well, I feel honored to be the first!

First note, that I am not hearing or sight impaired. But I do suffer from light sensitivity and that can have an affect on my seizures. As such, I really enjoy the static ambience that is in the tutorials. It's easy on the eyes, and I think it gives it a perfect atmosphere to just listen to the audio cues without having to worry about anything going on on the screen.

The second thing is that the Voice Over artists you have are doing quite an exceptional job! It feels like I'm listening to a high quality audio book. There's no garble, fabric or paper rustling, or white noise, and the audio so far is very clear and concise! Not an easy feat! I did however feel like the lines in the first tutorial made it seem that the Uncle was a tad bit less caring than he later came out to be.  But I think it's kind of cool to see the characters adapt. I only made it to the Heavy Attack tutorial due to it being so late in the day here, but that was the one that started to falter a bit for me. I noticed that heavy attacks could only be unleashed to the sides and not to the front. (This may be on purpose and I may have missed the audio cue saying as such.) But I did have to wait until the uncle passed the forward position before I could let loose the attack.  I also noticed that after a while it became difficult for me to place exactly where he was in the room (only in that tutorial), but this may have just been due to me playing this on my laptop. However it definitely seemed smoother and easier to detect him before the Heavy Attack tutorial so I'm not too sure. Other than that, so far I can pick out exactly what it is I am hearing and can distinguish it from the other sounds, which is pretty cool! It didn't know how much sound played a part in my life! But yeah, so far so good! I can definitely see this as potentially being a game even the non-impaired play, and who knows? I think it may even have the potential to be a trend and even change how other games are played in the future. So amazing job! Keep up the good work! I'm very eager to see where this goes!

Finished the demo today. Really awesome gameplay! It wasn't too difficult to get the hang of and it was fun! There is one thing I think would make it better. I was getting xbox control cues by efault and had to change them mid game. A prompt at startup to ask the player which setting they want (controller or keyboard) would really help in that regard. Other than that, You've done an exceptional job with this! Can't wait to see more!

Thanks z4pper! Glad you liked the demo and we'll be sure to address that controller issue on our way to release.

hello. first, let me say that I am blind. have been since birth. second, let me say that I've been keeping up with this game and all it's demos and I think you guys are doing an amazing job! the combat is basic but fun, the voice acting and sound design is amazing, and the game itself is just something I play offten! can't wait for the release! I do love the concept of using a bow and being able to do somethings on my own like use a heavy attack or magic in combat whenever I want to. to finally close out this post, I'd once again love to congratuate you guys for making this truly amazing game! haven't played something like this in audio since a blind legend. and I can say that this, is a solid 200 percent better than that one!

Thanks, Guys, I have a cousin that is blind and he really liked the Demo. I can't thank you enough for the effort you put into this game, my cousin was smiling the whole time, he doesn't play a lot of games, and when he does he just doesn't understand what's happening.

We are Mexican and my cousin doesn't know that much English, maybe I'm asking a little bit too much, but if you could add another language to the game, it would be perfect.

The controls work really well, my cousin got the hang of it very quickly, he used a Ps3 controller.

The part with the bees was excellent, maybe a little bit too difficult cause the Shepherd died very easily.

I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.

We would love to localize in more languages.  Voice over is such a huge portion of the game's indie budget that we cannot afford to launch with other languages, but we hope that the success of the game will allow us to bring The Vale to more places and communities.

Hello! I just purchased the full version of The Vale: Shadow of the Crown. I'm only about 15 minutes into the game, and am already extremely impressed and very excited to continue. The voice actors are already doing a great job, and I have enjoyed the two combat scenarios I've encountered so far.

One thing I noticed is that it's hard for me to know when a "cutscene" is happening (and thus I have no control over my character), versus when I have control as a player. I'm finding that my lack of agency during those cutscenes somewhat frustrating.

I'm so, so happy that someone has made an audio-first game. Hearing the wagon sounds and the mill sounds gave me chills.

Glad you like it so for, and thanks for the feedback.  We intend to improve the experience and create more games with audio focus so your thoughts are super appreciated.

i love this game and its many elements. From the fighting seans to the many quests or just the simple dialog it has it all for me i can't put it down i just want more. only thing i can say i don't like about it is it is not long enough lol but then it would never be lol. you have my thanks and i hope you will make many more games like this thanks!

Greetings. I've completed the game twice now and I'm loving it. Firstly I'll tell you what I'd love added. First and foremost, a remort system would be nice whereby you're able to keep everything like your armour, weapon and bow as well as your copper and magical abilities. That would give the game a great deal of replay value because then you'd be able to level up and become very powerful if you percist in building your character. So what would happen if you revisit the blacksmiths that are selling lower quality weapons? They would become upgrades instead. Secondly, I'd love it if you can choose to withdraw or sheathe your sword/axe/hammer as well as your bow. That way it isn't automatic and you can choose to walk around or take up the fighting stance. The way in which I would do this is I'd either use the number row keys or control and shift. Now I'll tell you what I love about the veil. The voice acting is most excellent and so is the combat, the environmental sounds and the music. By the way, I'd love to buy the music tracks as well as the sounds. Please let me know if there is any way to purchase them. I also love the 'barbarian will do' song and how the men singing as well as the singer, the one playing the castanets and the guitarist are all spacially separated. I like how the organ/keyboard and bass are played at the same location as the guitar. Finally and my apologies if I'm wrong in my usage of words, the flame part of this short review. I think Theo is quite foolish and does not deserve to rule; nothing against the actor but the character is a very foolish individual. As for Abdul Rashid, he is only foolish near the end of the game if you choose to aid the husband and wife to gain back their last grain store in Amshare. My apologies if I've spelt that wrong. The wife is foolish and she should never have threatened Alex and Abdul with her bow. As for the washerwoman in the first town, she is incredibly foolish and like the previous comments, nothing against the actors and actresses, just the characters they play. Children should be able to make their own choices as long as such choices do not harm them and or those around them. Her son should have been able to automatically be able to go to his sister rather than the washerwoman wanting him to go to his uncle who he did not know and who he did not want to go to in the first place. I know that people don't like flames and my apologies if what I said here offended you; I assure you that was never my intent. In conclusion, although there is more I'd love to see in the game like being able to keep your stuff but start a new game, the veil is most excellent and keep up the good work. Kind regards, Amin Abdullah.
