Climb : Tower of Babel

Please describe your creation.
We wanted to make use of the new technology to create something unique and thrilling. Really this was a test to see how we could cope with an area of development that was completely untested to ourselves and other developers generally. The team was made up of a 3D artist and programmer. Familiarity with Unity was a blessing. But difficulty with the new APIs and original concept was very challenging. Our artist also suffered a broken computer during the jam. Still we were able to pull it home in the end. There's a climbing wall opening in our town soon.. but visiting there would just be for the exercise in the real world.

Hi Helios, got the zip folder for windows sorted out now. Though I haven't been able to test the direct to rift build on windows machine :( the oculus demo insta - crashes on my windows laptop.

Thanks for the input, hopefully we'll be able to develop this concept into a great game.

The dData folder is named 'Babel_win_Data' but it should be Babel_Data (or exe needs to be renamed to Babel_win.exe)

No Direct to Rift Mode.

Had to create batch file to launch it on second monitor (Rift).

Game itself - I like the idea, I think you'll get there. Right now, the climbing speed seems to vary and it feels disconnected from my physical movements. Sometimes I seem to be gliding up the wall and other times I'm climbing and climbing and making no headway.

Thanks for being patient with the Windows build. Force feed back would be awesome, I think we're going to work on making the vertigo feel more real in the next build! You could be a great neighbour and drop a vote :) also great stuff that you dropped by to say it's working :)

I had a go at the no rift version and man, my arms are tired lol

Would be great if there were force feedback gloves for this to make you "feel" the hand holds.

I've uploaded a fix for windows build now.. using the latest hotfix for the VR tracking on windows 7/8. Please check it out, any further issues please post back here :)

Hi mechabit,

Not sure what the issue is there.. I build this with the v2.2 sdk on osx. Had it working and all.
