As a big fan of your adventure games, this looks great! Unfortunately it doesn't want to work on Linux with WINE (it launches & opens an empty window, but refuses to render any menu or graphics.) If anyone knows a way to get this to run, I'd love to hear it.

The menu music is killer at least!

I'll have to try it on a Windows machine later but I would love to see a Linux compatible build. (I tried it on a desktop system for now, but I love playing games like this on my Steam Deck.)

Is this running a custom engine?

Thanks for the kind words!

I'm using GameMaker for the game. I plan to provide a Linux build at launch, and potentially a macOS as well. It will also run on the Steam Deck. As for the demo, I'm afraid I won't be able to work on it in the near future.

Nice, thanks for that! I ended up trying the demo out on a Windows machine, it's lovely. The vibrant colours and sprite/tilework really make it pop. It plays well, the sprites are fluid, and the music is *awesome*.

My only complaint is I died and reloaded a save, only to find that all the enemies had respawned - I get that it's part of the style, but really not a fan of that. Makes me feel like I've lost all my progress. I'd love to see non-respawning enemies as an option in the final game.

Glad to hear! Enemies respawn when you die but your progress isn't reset when your game is saved (using a waterfall or an exit) - your ammo, weapons, pickups, unlocked abilities all stay with you. :)

The game appears to run fine for me on Linux with wine-10.12, or with Proton 8.0-5 (added to Steam as non-Steam game).

(I didn't try it on the Deck yet.)

[Edit:]

I just noticed that there already is a demo on Steam - that one works with Proton 8.0-5, too!

Great to know, thanks! :)
