For only using Godot for about three weeks, I'd say you have a better handle on it and game mechanics than a lot of people!

Game juice was great.  Discards and flips felt really impactful.  I'm a sucker for the CRT monitor effect so loved that as well.

At first I wasn't exactly sure how to play: even with the tutorial / how to play I still felt like I had to play a few rounds just to get a feel for the game.  I did get my Jam Metagame progression so apparently I understood it enough with some time :)

I'm not sure how to say I thought the music was good but might not have been the right music for the game IMO.  But that is really subjective.

Others have said it and I will repeat it: you might be on to something here.  I think it's a pretty unique concept that you can scale up and polish.

hey, just saw this message, thanks!
i kinda changed the gameplay after making the rules (yes i made the rules before the gameplay lmao), so i understand that people dont get whats happening on their screen lol.

about the music, originally this game was supposed to be a game like "world's hardest game", but then again i changed the idea to balatro roguelike so the music stays like that (tho it is subjective since i thought the music was good).

oh and also 1 last thing, most feedback i got was either the game was too hard, its hard to understand, or the crt effect being too strong
i did manage to 2 of the issues like the game being too hard because previously the goal formula was (300 * (round ^ 2)) which makes the progression really extreme lol, so i changed it to (150 * (round ^ 2)) (tho its worth to note that i participated in the metagame before changing the difficulty, so i respect the people who finished it before it got easier), although the round is infinite theres actually a win condition where you need to reach 1m points before (now 10k). the second issue was the crt effect being too strong (theres actually a setting for it, but its still a bandaid issue since you need to sacrifice quality for accessibility which wasnt the greatest thing ever).
