Game Jam not showing on calendar. WHY?

I’m writing because I published my game jam on May 10, but it still does not appear on the itch.io jam calendar. I also emailed support a week ago and received this confirmation: “Your request (371895) has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff.” However, I have not received any further reply yet.

Jam name: Queer Communist Game Jam 2026

Jam URL: https://itch.io/jam/queercomgames2026

Dates: August 1–31, 2026

Organizer account: https://mizumiaw.itch.io

I’m worried because the calendar is essential for visibility. I have been promoting the jam outside itch.io, but that is not enough, especially for a small independent project organized from Cuba with limited resources. So far 21 people have joined, and it has been very difficult to reach people without the support of the calendar.

I also want to clarify that this is not an improvised or abandoned jam. The project has received support and visibility from organizations such as Gray Area Foundation for the Arts, a San Francisco-based institution working at the intersection of art, technology, culture and social impact, and The New Centre for Research & Practice, an international educational platform for theory, philosophy, art, media and experimental research. Their support matters because this jam is trying to create a serious space for experimental, queer, leftist and anti-capitalist games, not just a casual event.

Could you please help me understand if I did something wrong, or if there is anything missing from the jam page that is preventing it from appearing on the calendar?

Thank you so much for your help.

I’ve let our admins know about your ticket, but as explained in lots and lots of topics, not all jams are approved for the calendar.

Thanks but at least I deserve to know why and if its something I can solve, I will do it!

I have no way of knowing, and as explained in lots and lots of topics, itch.io staff seldom explain their decisions.

This is frustrating and depressing! What ever happened with that ticket though? Do they ever reply? Do they really check and listen to user's concerns?

I just told you I have no way of knowing, but if you look through the forum, you’ll see many posts from people saying itch.io staff helped them.

okay, reviewing the forum I discovered you gave the same answer to another person that was waiting 6 MONTHS with a ticket. I have lost all the hope and trust on your message now, please put me in contact with your admins, not you, the admins, or my other option is to send lots of mails asking for an answer. Have a nice day.

The moderator is not an employee of yours or Itch; he is a volunteer moderator for the community. The most he can do is inform the administrator about your ticket. And for your information, the administrator does not provide feedback to the moderator, so they have no way of knowing the status of your ticket or why your jam not appearing on the calendar.

If you want to contact the staff, the only official way is to contact support. Threatening the moderator with a barrage of emails is completely useless, because the moderator doesn't work for Itch and doesn't have access to support tools. And he's not lying when he says he'll inform the admins about your ticket. The problem is, the staff doesn't change their decisions based on what the moderator tells them; it only serves to draw their attention to your case.

PD:  I also want to let you know that the forum is not answered by the staff and is not a way to contact them. As I mentioned above, the only official way to contact them is through the support email.

Get help from the itch.io community. Have a quick question or issue, other members of the community can assist you in finding an answer. If you need to specifically contact itch.io staff you can message our support team.

thanks I apologize to the mod and I’ll try reach the staff.

I don’t know for sure this is a factor, but I have a guess based on what I’ve read of the Ich.io team’s past decisions that your jam page isn’t passing a quality check.

Specifically, the jam page has accessibility problems. The white text is almost impossible to read on the bright cyan background. That would be an easy thing to fix to improve visibility either way.

I don’t have any white text

Strange. Below is what the page looks like on my side. I flipped my browser’s dark/light mode, mobile/desktop mode, and my device color temperature to check for significant differences. This was the color scheme each time.

Screenshot of Queer Communist Game Jam

This screenshot is one of the clearest views. The text was nearly invisible in some tests.

No, actually, this is embarrassing. There was another layer of dark mode I missed.

Another screenshot of the jam page. The text iss black.

sorry but I dont understand!! it was because something you did?? or is because I did something wrong ?? please let me knot to fix it!

It was something I did! You might also be able to prevent the problem in the page’s HTML/CSS, but that could be difficult.
