I loved the duck art and it was satisfying to accrue a horde of ducklings. I was a bit bummed to see that the game crashed after collecting the treasure in the center.
What I Loved:
- The main game loop concept
- The art style
What need Improvement:
- The music doesn't loop so when its done its just quiet. Also wish there was more quacking or lake/marsh sounds
- When I took the bottle cap back the game crashes every time so unable to finish the game
The music should have been looping, we'll have to take a look at that but it should have looped, not sure what happened there
As for sfx, I simply ran out of time, so had to leave them, sorry about that!
Pretty neat concept! I also thought about making a Pikmin like so I’m impressed you were able to finish it within the time period. As others said a nice refinement would be faster movement for the ducklings and not having to return each item to the very beginning as they move quite slowly but a cool concept. Nice job team!
Best part of the game is definitely its art style and atmosphere. i enjoyed the environment and characters a lot! but the ducklings and the mother duck move too slow, and the game was a little confusing at the start. also, the game broke twice when i played it so, yeah, it would be good to fix that
I like the Pikmin-like mechanics and the art style is really nice. I do think it would be nice if the ducklings moved a little faster, it started to feel agonizingly slow waiting for them to go all the way back home every time I picked something up. All in all, cool game though!
We love duck games...I love the aesthetic, so kudos to the artist! And I'm sure having the pikmi-er, the ducks grab items, carry them back, or have them go somewhere or follow you wasn't easy so good job! I would have liked it to be a bit clearer somehow that bringing an item back meant getting another duckling as I spent a fair amount of time wandering after trying to get a 5 duck item first. But once I figured the smaller item would be doable, I assumed I may get another duckling when they returned it (and I was correct..yay me).
Good job team!
