A simple but intriguing mission as FIST pit their wits against a magic computer - do you want to make a wish?

  • A really comprehensive intelligence matrix for the referee to use against the players, that work well within the mission's setting.
  • Love the idea of introducing the doppelgängers, adds a lovely bit of depth to the players' choices, both in terms of their action and roleplay opportunities. The meta nature of the Reverse Magician using wishes is a fun one, and offers something new for the final showdown.
  • Would maybe have liked a bit more structure in the bunker/labyrinth's layout - if this elusive millionaire has built this bunker for the supercomputer, what else has he built in there? Art gallery, biodome with previously thought extinct animals, garage of fancy cars?

Overall it's an easy to run mission from point A to B, elevated by the meta final boss fight that a competent ref could really take off the rails!

Thought this was a great example of how finding something achievable in the jam restrictions can uncover something cool! I actually felt like the less-designed layout played well with the tone of the writing and the idea of a supercomputer output/ really old tome, and the implications of the simple stuff like doppelgängers and wishes has vaster potential than what is explicated in the mission itself. A disruptive Norton warning is a great goof too. Nice work!

This is a great little sandbox. My largest criticism is that I wish there was more of it. What you've provided in just three pages is a very rich gameplay space that excites me to run it.

The layout is obviously pretty basic, but the black background is a stylish choice. It makes it easier for me to read than if you were to have placed the same text on a white background. For some reason (maybe the font choice), the white text on the black background evokes the right mood all on its own. If you want to develop your layout skills, I would experiment with adding more visual elements and trying to fold them into the same cohesive mood. I've been using a bunch of assets from the Met while working on mine—you might be able to find some good visual assets there that suit this premise well. You can find their open access collection (all public domain!) here: https://www.metmuseum.org/hubs/open-access

You do a great job conveying the coolness of wizards. I don't think you necessarily need it for this mission, as what you've included is already very good, but I think it might be enhanced by more attention to its narrative fabric. A little "victory lap," so to speak, to fill out the extra space you've got left over. It would only make this mission cooler. More thematic intrigue, more questions, more of whatever you love about this mission.

I really like the non-standard setup, by the way. Not so much of a "FIST, come help!" kind of mission as it is a "hey there's treasure" kind of mission. I find that kind of thing engaging.

Sometimes, creating a sick mission is as simple as adding skeletons and doppelgängers. The idea of stacking parameters is also really cool!

just casually dropping "A WISH CANNOT CHANGE THE NATURE OF A MAN" and "A WISH THAT RESULTS IN CALAMITY SHALL BE REFUSED" as some of my favorite clauses.

This is cool. It's got your regretful millionaire who hungered too fervently for power. It's got your classic magic baddies in a trapped labyrinth. And I enjoy bigbosses who try to defuse fights with the promise of a wish only to reveal consequences that can play out as campaign arcs in the future!! Very cool interpretation of the prompt - and love the adaptation that the millionaire has seen the error of his ways

There's a very fun enemy here - I love an enemy who can adjust the parameters of the battlefield itself.

The mission could have perhaps also used a little more white space/paragraph spacing, but in generally it's quite readable,
