This is such a cute game! I loved the sound effects :) And the overall idea was really on theme and well executed!

One bug I found was that the same item could be picked up multiple times. In order to add more difficulty, you could not tell the player which room some of the objects are in. Or you could only allow the player to look at their task list when outside of the house (so they'd have to remember what they need to steal). Just some ideas though!

Overall I really liked this game :)

Also, massive ++ for controller support!

Nice job, I enjoyed the art and music the most, the alien is very cute :)
Checking my checklist and figuring out where to go has some promise, it might be interesting if you had to identify the item via an image instead of text.

The Art is fantastic! The references in the Living Room were really fun too. Loop feels great, just need some variation, either change peoples location or visit other parts of the house (a garage, the backyard). Like others have said, a feedback on player crouching would be cool. Great job!

Art and audio are really cool, the graphics for the house are stunning.

I agree with other commentors that keeping shift pressed makes the game pretty easy, and there are few rooms with challenge so after a while it becomes a simple task of running in and visiting the places you already know will get you what you need. Maybe randomizing what is where would have meant there's a bit of a searching aspect to it, and replaying the levels would have been a bit more challenging.

I also was a bit confused about the story and what was going on. When the upstairs guy prompt you to steal a key, I don't think I found what this was for. I thought they were hadncuffed to the bed and might need help! but it didn't seem like anything was prompted after.

Would have been great if pressing shift also changed the player sprite at least a little, I thought it wasn't working at all at first.

Interesting take on the theme, the graphics are just gorgeous, the music is nice too
however you end up always having shift pressed making the game too easy, also the fact that there's a single repetitive map make the replayability really low (in the scope of a jam it's quite normal)
good job to your team it's fun any way and i hope you've had fun doing it

Very interesting idea!

The controls seem a bit unintuitive, maybe if down arrow could crouch too, and the character could change its sprite to a crounching sprite to give feedback to the player. Another thing, as the other jammer already commented, is this break from keys input to mouse input when interacting with a container of items, maybe there could also be a way to select items from a container using arrow keys and enter to avoid this break.

The fact that the alien has the items listed in a notebook page feels strange in context (since he is an alien) but it ends up being funny.

In my opinion this is a very good first submission, the game has some aspects to get better but in all its a complete game with a cool game loop idea (some variation would make it even better).

Very cute!

I love the art style and the alien has an adorable design. I also think the idea is interesting, and the game does get progressively challenging as it goes on! I also am a fan of the music, very sneaky.

I do feel like it could do with some more variation, if you ever decide to update it. Having the locations of the items change, or the layout of the house change, and so on.

Also, in terms of accessibility, the change from keyboard navigation to mouse navigation on the menus can be a bit jarring?

In any case, I really liked it! I had fun a and played a few levels. The game loop was pretty tight! Congrats on yall's game!

We were thinking about making the items change location, but unfortunately we didn’t have time to implement that. Also, thanks for the feedback about controls, I'll look into that and maybe make change after game jam ends.

For sure! Still, you guys did a great job with the time of the jam!
